About doves in the garden. I tried to buy and use some bird feed sold at a nearby veterenary and feeding the doves that coem around my garden. No birds would touch it.
Very recently I took a leftover pancake, crumbed in a blenter, and put it out for the doves. They went crazy for it.
Now I make up a batch of pancake batter and feed them regularly. They evencome down before I can spread it around, so theymust like it some.
I do make them with egg, milk watered down a bit, a very small amount of sugar, pinch of salt, a dollop of oil, then I make the pancakes, let them cool completely and crumb the batch.
I put portions in my sandwich bags and freeze them so they do not go bad.. They do like the crumbs a lot...

PS, I do stretch out the amount of flour to make it go farther, my Scotts blood I suppose.

We used to feed the Rainbow Lorikeets and Eastern Rosellas sunflower seeds. The problem was that the Ring Neck doves (also Aussie native) loved them. Too many doves, not enough Lorikeets. Bought in bulk the seed is not overly expensive.

These are ring neck mourning doves also. It is certain many people around here feed them too, and know a lot more about them than do I, but it makes me feel good knowing they are getting at least something from me... Thanks for the sunflower seed tip.

doves tend to be ground feeders, perhaps putting the feeder up will draw lorikeets and discourage doves?

As I recall, some folks would say, when this sunny rain occurred, "The devil is beating his wife." I have no idea where that saying came from........... Somewhere in the Midwasst.

One of my likes in apps on Windows 10 OS is the Microsoft store. If you have Windows 10, it should be in your Start menu. Of course, being a store, there are many items that require a fee, but there are also a myriad of programs that are free. Now many may be a bisc rendition of aprogram but they are very useful even at that stage.

If you like pdf documents, look up in the search for pdf and you will find at least four different programs for reading or processing pdfs, even for editing them.

There is also a very nice program called Mcrosoft Whiteboard. This is, simply put, a digital rendition of the whiteboards used in schools, businesses, police series lol, and more. I do not find it useful for myself, but I can see how non-retirees would have good use of it.

There are so many more. I have dowlnloaded and installed at least 20 apps, most of which I study to use.

Good night from over here. (I am not certain, but I do not believe that is the intent of that quote?)

hmm I dont use hardly any of the apps on phone or ipad.
some I cant get rid of as they come with the device

or they cant update.
I dont really go looking in the store for free apps. But I suppose i may be missing out on something great but Ive just found that after a while the novelty of it wears off.

I feed birds too and doves also but just use seed. That is nice of you to do all that for them.

We feed them too :) crust that's pulled of bread, pizza crust, croutons/crackers that have gone stale. Basically anything like that gets given to the birds (and whatever other wildlife comes along....... squirrels, raccoons, )

I'm guessing that is using one of the apps you've recently discovered.
Right on the money. This one I did not download, it came with the OS upgrade of W10. It is called Paint 3D.

It works for removing backgrounds. That is my first successful one, albeit not very good since I have to use all kinds of devices to see to do it, but I dun did it, and for my needs, none, it is ok, lol.
