I wanted to post this thread to see if anybody else hears the voice of the holy spirit sometimes. I hear it like a supremely clear thought in my head that matches scripture every time i hear it. I also hear it in many other ways such as pointing out times im being hypocritical to the faith, or when i question what i should do next.

so im wondering how do others experience or have experienced the power of our greatest gift the breath of God the holy spirt. Blessed be the one who remains with us day in and day out and rejuvenates our souls, the power that rose him from the dead now resides in us.

Yep but for a long time I mistook it for my own conscience. When I was young I would imagine to do things, sometimes good but often time wrong. I would close my eyes and the spirit of me was inside the bag of the flesh of me and then open my eyes and it could see out, that is the spirit of me. I, the spirit of me would say to my flesh to move it's arms and legs and play and the bag of flesh of me would obey and play.

At first it was innocent until I grew a little older and mischief grew in my spirits mind. Then I began to at times say to my flesh to do things not so innocent, you know things like to lie and cheat but never the less my body did do the will of my spirits mind . I could hear his voice clear as day expressing to me that it was not good but I would shrug it off and do it anyway. I suppose I thought he couldn't see or that I would just ask forgiveness afterwards or something?

The voice I hear was never like an audible sound but like a thought not mine. It said good when I said to my flesh to do good and not good when I had my flesh do things not good. When I was older I pondered that when my spirits mind said to my flesh to do those things not good and my spirits mind had my flesh do it anyway that in fact it was my spirits conscience that was guilty but the voice I had always heard telling me that it was not good was not guilty at all. Anyway I mistook it to be mine own conscience until I saw that he was inside me the whole while(The Lord Of Host dwelling inside the Temple) and he was never me but was always standing there trying to tell me his will the entire time and I was not understanding that Jesus was always in me. https://biblehub.com/interlinear/colossians/1-27.htm

Pretty sure Jesus didn’t mean for the Disciples only to love each other and no one else. Kind of obvious
I do not see where I ever said what you just said above, somehow misleading is in your interpretation, I am not saying, what you are saying at all
It is Love to all, whether or not others believe God or not
If, I only love those that love me, Then, I am as sounding brass in 1 Cor 13:1-3
Not been adopted in yet or am and not seeing the adoption of verses 4-7, that God imputes in his children in belief to his down work of Son for them

Every time I see a new post in this thread, I keep thinking of this song.

The voice of the spirit
Is calling me
To learn how to touch
What I cannot see

We are all human and not to use that as an excuse, Thank you as we each continue to learn new daily in our mistakes and continue to be willing to learn and not just think we know, at least me, I am in process still too

This reminds me in some respects to Paul's commentary on the flesh having desires in adversarial opposition to the desires of the Spirit -- "For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish." (Ga 5:17) The flesh urges us to act in a way that gratifies its desires, but the Spirit of God who lives in us urges us to act in a way that gratifies His desires. If we want to live successful Christian lives, we must learn to take the path that the Spirit urges us to take. If we walk as the Spirit leads, then by definition, we will not be gratifying the desires of the flesh -- "I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." (Ga 5:16)

If you think about it the flesh of a man is a faithful servant to the person dwelling in it. If you(your spirits mind) says to your flesh "put the shoes on your feet and tie the laces" then your fleshes hands reaches and gets the shoes and does it. Your flesh never argues with your spirits mind. When you tell it to take your fork and get the beans from the plate and put them in your mouth it does not disobey and put them in your ear instead. If your spirits mind(you) tells your flesh to commit sin it will do it. If your spirits mind tells your flesh to do good it will do it.

The spirit in an man is what controls the actions of the body of flesh it dwells in(it's house). We could tell it to wash it's self all day long and it would still be as innocent as when we had it begin because it never disobeyed our spirits minds command. That spirits mind that dwells in that bag of flesh though(the one that told it to do the iniquity) will still have the same "guilty conscience",, and rightfully so because it was what told the body of flesh to do the iniquity in the first place. The spirit of the man is then what needs to repent and be washed in the blood of Christ.

I was in hope though that you would more so have noticed that not only is there the spirit of that person dwelling in that house(bag of flesh) but also the Lord of Host(Christ in you) standing there trying to get us to see and hear him. Don't misunderstand me though I'm not suggesting that in any way your/our spirits minds are God but that if you can spot your own then you will also recognize that there is also another that is not you inside there also.

Most in reverse but I'll say it anyway there are also times when we have neglected to hear the voice of Christ dwelling in us that we set up the perfect environment for other spirits to enter in and dwell. Anger might then see us not listening to Christ voice and enter and you can both see it and feel it when it enters your flesh. Lust might enter or the spirit of an lie and we can both feel and see these also. Fear and doubt might take hold in our bodies of flesh and as with the other demons when they rush in we know their there. That is, and there are many other spirits of demons desiring to enter our bags of flesh and reside beside our spirits minds and have our bodies walk and talk in their behalf.

Remember though these will flee from the presence of Christ in you but I mention them because you(all of us) have both seen and felt them. Fear for example when it enters can cause goose bumps on our flesh and our hair to stand up. When it enters our hearts feel as though it stops for a second and then it begins to beat faster and faster,It can touch you, it can take your breath away.

The point is though that much like being lost in the woods because there are so many trees its also possible to be lost inside the bag of flesh we are and not recognize that we are not the only spirit in there when we close our eyes. If you narrow down which one is yours and look for that other voice(Christ in you) you will behold the face of God.

I colorized your post to make it easier to follow what you are saying. In a nutshell, you are saying that the flesh is simply the body, and it follows the instructions of the person who lives in it. And you wanted me to noticed more so that God also lives in our bodies with us.

In my post that you are referring to, I tried to gently correct the idea that a person's body is the same thing as his flesh. It is not. Unlike the body, the flesh has desires that are in adversarial opposition to the Spirit's desires. And those desires do not originate in the spirit of the person in who's body Christ lives. So, we see in Galatians 5:16-17 that in one body there are three inhabitants, not two... If you tell your body to do what you hear the Spirit telling you to do, your body will not carry out and fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

I would also gently say that when we are joined to the Lord, we became "one spirit with Him" (1 Cor 6:17), meaning that there is no gap between His desires and the desires of our redeemed spirits.

It sounds like you are ascribing the lusts of the flesh to evil spirits who are living in our hearts. Maybe we see things mostly the same but using differnt words. Maybe you could throw in some Scriptures to support your wording.

Several family members, myself and several of our friends coined a type of riddle(jokingly) several years back because of some of the wording in Paul's(and others) letters.

If I said I had "four foot long hairs in my nose", what did I just say?,,, Now one person might say, "wow this guy should clip them off if four of the hairs in his nose are a foot long" but another person might say "no,that's not what he said at all, he meant that all of the hairs in his nose are four foot long"

So again in the same is Paul saying that the flesh has it's own desires and the spirit of the person in that body cannot control it" or is he saying that the spirit inside it is lusting after the he flesh, others flesh ect. in the Scriptures you gave?

Here's a Scriptural reference tell me is Paul saying that our bodies are the very Temple of God and that the Holy Spirit dwells inside of it in the inner most portion of it when we close our eyes? Should we close our eyes and look inside that Temple with our Spirits mind and look for him in the place Paul is saying he dwells? https://biblehub.com/interlinear/1_corinthians/6-19.htm

Fortunately, Koine Greek is inflected in a way that helps eliminate the confusion that the English language often creates.

He is saying
  • "the flesh" (singlular subject) "lusts" (verb) "against the Spirit" (direct object),
  • "the Spirit (singlular subject) "lusts" (borrowed verb) "against the flesh" (direct object), and
  • "these" (plural subject) "are in opposition" (verb) "to one another" (direct object).
Galatians 5:16-17 clearly admonishes us to avoid the lusts of the flesh. Here is another example... "Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul" (1 Pe 2:11). And there are plenty more.

Since all these things which you mention (anger, lust, deceit, fear, and doubt) are listed in one place or the other in Scripture as coming from the flesh and nowhere to demons, is it not possible you are ascribing to demons that which belongs to the flesh?

And why are you comfortable with demons living inside you, but you are uncomfortable with the idea that the flesh with its evil desires is in you?

Concerning the body being the temple of God,

9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (Ro 8:9–10).

We (our redeemed spirits) do not reside in the flesh, we reside in the Spirit (Ro 8:9). The body (which is inexorably intertwined with the flesh) is dead because of it's sinfulness. But our redeemed spirit (which is one spirit with Christ (1 Co 6:17)) is alive because of the righteousness we have in Christ (Ro 8:10). The fact that the we (our redeemed spirits and the Holy Spirit) live in an earthen vessel which is beset with weakness (2 Cor 4:7) does not mean we are one with it.

Born again by God Father of risen Son, thanks, seeing to stand there in this born new truth of the done work of Son for us, taking all thought captive in the risen Son's done work for us to stand new in thanksgiving and praise to being given Father's Spirit and truth to us. To rest in trust
amazing grace. God love us all, time to rest in praise and thanksgiving

Yes at times, not always as clear as I would like honestly. I hear him when I'm very thankful or when I'm deeply stressed.

Being hypocritical or what I should do next I usually see in lucid dreams. Some thoughts are entities. You feel the energy and realize they're not correct thoughts. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will teach me songs in my dreams as well. But I never heard them in real life.

For me it has always clarified the text of the Word bringing it to life. I suppose that could be seen as the same.

The Holy Spirit isn’t some mysterious thing out there that you might hear every now and then. If you’ve received the Holy Spirit it’s a constant thing.
