Don't bother. I studied the book in high school for a term. It's one of those incredibly important books, but it's not very enjoyable.

I was once trying to read "Ulysses" by James Joyce, but I gave it up. Somebody's read that book?

Russian writing is similar to Irish writing. A lot of thinking and not a whole lot of action.

But Russian thoughts are usually way more interesting.

Yeah. The last thing I would want is to get banned because of my posts in a "love-in" forum. Although I think I did bring up pistol whipping... Oh well! I've enjoyed my 2 days as a member!

I've never attempted it. I tried one page. Joyce lost me.

You read Pushkin? I read some of him years back. And, of course the mandatory Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy.

I've read a little Dostoevsky. But only two so far - Notes from the Underground and The Double. They were fascinating if incredibly somber affairs. I want to try reading The Idiot and eventually The Brothers Karamazov.
