I woke up this morning, got ready for work, fed the cats, changed the kitty litter, mailed an E-Bay package that my wife wanted to ship, came home, ate my cereal and drank my OJ, said my morning prayers and then noticed that the A/C wasn't working. This was most distressful to me as we really couldn't afford a huge bill. I left my wife a note that the A/C wasn't working so that she could call the A/C repair people and then drove to work. 12 hours later I drove home in a torrential downpour and the traffic lights wasn't working at an extremely busy intersection. Somehow I got across and made my way home. I opened the door and my wife said the A/C was fixed, the drain pipe was just clogged. The expense was most minimal. The A/C feels good right now. I just got done taking the trash out and getting the mail. I had a very busy and stressful day. Good thing that I drank my orange juice. I thanked God also. It turned out to be a good day after all.

We leave tomorrow for our trip to Michigan to see my daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Also some of my wife's family in Indiana and Kentucky. Will be gone two weeks so I won't be on much after today if at all but will catch up on what's been going on when we return. The members on this site will be in our prayers as usual. God bless everyone.

We are currently on Day 6 of our adventure up north. Spent the last two days with my daughter and grandchildren and will stay until Wednesday morning. It is great catching up on things and seeing the new twin boys. The weather was sunny and warm yesterday but today has reverted back to normal, cool with overcast skies. When we leave next week our next destination is back to Indiana for a night and then a day in Kentucky to visit my wife's ex-inlaws who are getting up in years. Aren't we all?

Since we were not going to be in Michigan for Thanksgiving, Christmas or my 3rd youngest grandaughter's birthday we celebrated all three today. The other day we bought a turkey and a lot of other food and my daughter prepared dinner, my wife helped out with peeling potatoes while I watched the twin 8 month old boys. My wife spent 4 months making a bubble quilt for the boys that was really quite beautiful and comfortable, plus knitted 3 other blankents for the girls. Also she bought a bunch of Christmas gifts and wrapped them as well. I felt bad because I had really done nothing to help out through the months preparing for the trip but my wife said that I had indeed helped out because I worked to earn the money to pay for these things. As far as the trip was concerned my only job was to pack some long-sleeve shirts to go along with the other things that she had already packed. Well, I brought the shirts downstairs but neglected to put them in the suitcase. So we get up here to Michigan which is a lot cooler than Florida will no warm shirts. She bought me a flannel shirt and hoodie at Walmart the other day. Actually, the weather has been quite pleasant with a lot of sunshine and a breeze. A little bit cooler and drier but that is refreshing after months of the summer heat and humidity. She takes good care of me and my daughter and grandchildren as well. She is a wonderful wife and is well loved by all, especially me. My son-in-law said to me that I had married a 'keeper'. I certainly agreed with him. God is good and I'm grateful for Him trusting me to take care of her. She certainly takes care of me. I plan on keeping her a long time.

I am very blessed indeed. Today is day 8 of our northern adventure. Will be heading south to Indiana on Wednesday, Kentucky of Thursday and then start heading back home to Florida. It will be good to see our two cats Tango and Sugar again as the little guys have been missing us. Go back to work next Wednesday to face the day to day grind. Such is life but it has been an interesting ride so far.

I just said my goodbyes to my daughter. It will probably be a couple years before we get together again so that's kind of sad but I thank God that we were able to visit for a solid week. Tomorrow we will drive to Indiana to spend the day and night with my wife's neice who is only 3 years younger than my wife. Thursday morining we are going to Kentucky to spend a few hours with my wife's ex-laws who have keeped in touch since her divorce in 1979. After that we start south and hope to spend a day with my family outside of Orlando. If not we will see them at Christmas when they visit us in Clearwater. Even though we only live a couple hours apart we haven't seen each other since New Year's Eve of this year because life keeps getting in the way. We can only do the best that we can with the tools that God gives us and the circumstances that we find ourselves in. Life always manages to go on, with our without us. That's kind of sad in a way but it's the truth.

It was a long journey home from Michigan as we spent a day in Indiana with my wife's niece and a day in Kentucky to visit her elderly ex-in-laws. It will probably be the last time that she sees them as they both are well up in years and their health is in decline. From there is was another two days to our home in Florida. Everything is unpacked and tomorrow morning we will drop off the rental car. It was a long 14 days of living out of a suitcase but it was well worth it. Right now I'm exhausted so I will be taking a shower soon and then go to bed. Very glad to be home. Will be going back to work on Thursday so it's back to reality. Good thing that I have the next 4 days off to recovery. It was quite an adventure. Thank God it's over.

Thank you for your kind words and for your thanks and praise to God for us to have a good trip and our return trip home. I'm still in the process of putting things away and cleaning up. Probably take a nap later. God Bless You.

Occasionally, I prepare dinner to give my wife a break from the kitchen. Today I made my interpretation of chicken cacciatore, accompanied by jasmine rice and green beans. I was a little disappointed because the green peppers were just a little on the al dente side. I have to either cut the pieces smaller, or increase the oven temp and / or time. Overall, it was a beautiful presentation and full of taste. I decided to sear 'em. That oughta do it. Oh, an extra splash of marsala wine is in order also. I be cookin' now.

Just finished cleaning the oven before Thanksgiving. Took the racks out to get them out of the way. After the oven was cleaned I tried to get them back in. It looked simple enough but "no". Tried them every which way but Sunday but wouldn't go in. As I was obviously challenged my wife had to resort to a YouTube video. I guess I'm not the first one to run into this seemingly simple problem. Video was very helpful. I used a YouTube video a couple years ago to unclog a garbage disposal. No matter what the situation there seems to be a video that shows you what to do. Gonna use the oven later today for my stuffed green peppers. No worries, I will just follow the instructions on the Stouffer's box. Not going to be fooled again.

Celebrating our 3rd Wedding Anniversary today. We were married in hotel room in the Hilton on Thanksgiving Day on the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. My wife arranged beforehand for a local minister to perform the ceremony with a maid and 2 bellhops serving as witnesses. It's been kind of up and down but overall marrying my wife Darlene has been one of my better decisions in life. It's been quite a ride so far and the adventure continues.

Happy 3 years, I think you should post about how you both met again.
