I never have scones when I watch baseball.

Tennis too goes with strawberries and cream (think Wimbledon).

well, many of us here in the states don't understand soccer. I mean, we get the point of the game, but not the fine points.

Well, the Cardinals are 1-0.
So are the Royals. I got two homers, three stolen bases, a seven-inning three-hitter from our starter (and also a "thumb cramp" --???-- ). What you got?

And now the Royals are 6-0, going into Minnesota to face the Twins today, Wednesday and Thursday (off day tomorrow in case of a rainout today). Nine homeruns in six games -- last year, it took them 25 games to hit nine homers. Paulo Orlando, the former Brazilian sprint star, getting his first three major league hits subbing for Alex Gordon while his wrist continues to heal -- all three triples, a first in MLB history.

And the "experts" picked the Royals third, or even fourth, overall in the AL Central? I know its early, but what were they smokin'?

Last men standing: Royals become baseball's only undefeated team

Following Monday's 12-3 embarrassment of the Twins, Kansas City (7-0) is baseball's last remaining undefeated team. Division rival Detroit also entered Monday unblemished but lost to Pittsburgh.
Sorry, couldn't help but trumpet my boys in blue.

They will probably lose one or even two of their next three or four............
Is that wishful thinking, P_? Or are you just jealous?

well, great for k.c. but the braves are 6-1 after everyone including the local media spent the winter telling us how bad they were going to be. of course it is way way way early but so far so good.

Yep, the "experts" said the same thing about the Royals. What "experts" forget is that the heart of a team means a whole lot more than the overall talent -- can't see how they'd downplay the talent on either of these clubs, though. That's kinda short-sighted.

And every baseball fan in the country thought the Royals did that in early September last year, as I recall.

You DO remember what happened in October, right?
