    Espresso

My guess is you're not getting any input with that thread title. It seems to have zero correlation to the actual topic. Also, I can't say for sure, but I believe there aren't a lot of active young adults on this site.

Let's Talk Usernames: Origin Stories, Alternatives, and What's the Most Outlandish Name You've Ever Considered for Yourself?

I just remembered, Sub is technically my third name on this site. My very first name was Ahzmort. I made up the name for a MySpace page, back when that was a thing. It was meant to be a bit funny by being an over the top page. I came up with the name by taking the Ahz from a character in a book...

Is putting someone on Ignore, really ignoring them?

This isn't really a debatable topic. If you want to ignore someone, ignore them. If you don't think it's right, then don't. There is no rule, either way, that must be followed. We're all on this site for different reasons. Some people enjoy debating with others, or at least with people they...

Of Mice, Moles, and Men (Ladies Too!) Tell Us About YOUR Animal Encounters -- Pets, Pests, And Everything In-Between!

It was actually my dog who was 14, I was 20ish, maybe a little younger. But still difficult for me. I'm fine now as that was over 30 years ago. But she still comes to mind every so often.

Of Mice, Moles, and Men (Ladies Too!) Tell Us About YOUR Animal Encounters -- Pets, Pests, And Everything In-Between!

Sad answer alert. 🫣 My parents bought a puppy when I was younger. I ended up being her caretaker and owner. She'd been like a best friend to me for 14 years. When she was 14 my parents decided she needed to be put down. Unsurprisingly she had quite a few health problems. So what they did is...

As Christians, How Can We Take a Stance Against Society's Constant Pairing of Sex With Violence?

I believe it comes down to personality type. Extroverts would have a harder time doing things alone than introverts. I'm an introvert and even around 17-18ish I went to movies alone. Admittedly it was a little weird at first, but I grew to enjoy it. I could pick whatever I wanted to see, no...

Have You Ever Traded One Vice (Bad Habit) For Another? One Thing, One Thing, Leads to Another... (for those who remember the song!)

I'm not really a lore person, so I couldn't care less about how good or bad plot lines are. Eh. To me it shows the growth and increased power of the character. So I'm not bothered. To me it makes sense they get easier.

    What are you watching 😏

I feel that way about anyone in acting claiming to be a Christian. It's pretty much impossible to be an actor and not compromise. Look at Chris Pratt. He made all this noise about being Christian, but then I look at some of the parts he played and I simply cannot believe it.

Well isn't this chattiness a bit newer in the UK? As an American its normal and what you grew up with. Though it seems less common than it used to be, especially at big stores. I'd always felt shy people had a harder time in the past. With the internet came more knowledge about different types...

Have to say i disagree. Smoking can be addictive. Making it harder to quit. Cheating can more easily be discouraged through consequences that children can understand easier. Also, kids cheat sometimes. Doesn't make it ok, but even good kids can give it a try, even if its only once.

    What are you watching 😏

I've never watched 1 or 2, but that shark scene was rather entertaining 😂 I used to like Denzel, but once he started claiming to be a Christian, i began losing interest in him. Especially after The Book of Eli. Which he not only starred in, but was also heavily involved in writing the script...

I, too, am more outspoken online than in person. At least at first. Once I get more familiar with someone i can become quite chatty at times. Otherwise in person social interactions with new people or strangers makes me very nervous. I can even think of many times when maybe standing in line for...

Does God Tell You Specifically What to Buy and Sell With Your Money?

My dad, a Christian, used to play lotto every week. He wasnt really counting on winning, he just thought it was fun, though I'm sure he'd have loved to have won. But my dad also had good self control. He could stop without a problem. Even when he drank it wasn't a problem for him. He never got...

I don't consider myself a gamer, but I do have a few games I enjoy playing. I see no connection between playing video games and kissing. Nor do I understand the umbilical cord idea. Firstly, let's take a look at the average gamer. They tend to often fall into two categories, scrawny or...

    Dark Attractions

I've kept my eye on some of the subcultures in the past. Being in the metal subculture opens you a bit to other subcultures. Also having seen them in public or even working with them. And this was 30 years ago, I can only imagine what they're like now. But, yeah, in any subculture there's...
