    Gospel Confusion...

They were all commanded to go and preach the gospel to every creature and to teach others, including Jews, to do the same. That includes preaching to Gentiles. The dividing wall between Jews and Gentiles is removed in Christ. You seem to want to rebuild it.

Poll about how you see predestination/freewill

Many times I have arrived at new perspectives on biblical themes that I have explained to people and been called a heretic, and eventually I have been given a name for my supposed heresy, to discover I had reasoned my way independently through scripture to some perspectives that others had...

Poll about how you see predestination/freewill

What do you mean by "non-systematic"? Do you think that whether a person holds an A-theory of time or a B-theory of time (see post #56) will affect the coherence/incoherence of their ideas about God and the way He relates to mankind over time? Which theory of time best fits with the way...

    Gospel Confusion...

    1. They actually all preached to Jews and Gentiles. 2. That Jesus Christ died as the propitiation for the sins of the world, rose again to justify those who believe He rose again, poured out the Holy Spirit to convince the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and is coming again to judge...

Poll about how you see predestination/freewill

The difference between Open theism and the other three isms is due to their different understanding of time. Arminianism, Calvinism and Molinism all begin with a B-Block or B-theory of time, whereas Open Theism begins with an A-Block or A-theory of time. Applying these different theories to the...

    1. v. 12 On-going union with Jesus Christ gives us an on-going boldness and access to our heavenly Father, the Triune God. 2. v. 12 Our on-going communion with Jesus Christ derives from our on-going confidence in His covenant faithfulness. He has proven His covenant faithfulness through...

A literal English translation of the Greek - Eph 3:12 In whom (ἐν ᾧ) we are having (ἔχομεν) the boldness (τὴν παρρησίαν) and the access (καὶ τὴν προσαγωγὴν) at-rest-in confidence (ἐν πεποιθήσει, dative singular feminine) through-from the faith of him (διὰ τῆς πίστεως αὐτοῦ). Eph 3:13 Wherefore...

At what point in our salvation is the blood of Christ applied?

And one only needs to go back two verses to see that John is most likely referring to your first option. Jhn 19:28 After this(Μετὰ τοῦτο), knowing (εἰδὼς, perfect active participle, "having realised") Jesus (ὁ Ἰησοῦς) that (ὅτι) all things (πάντα) now (ἤδη) He has finished/completed...

At what point in our salvation is the blood of Christ applied?

Yes, @Beckworth. A few days ago I noticed the same apparent correlation between John the Baptist's comments about gathering wheat and burning chaff in the same passage as baptism with the Holy Spirit and with fire. I am strongly sympathetic to your linking the two. But I'm not convinced that...

If sin is not imputed without the law, how can some claim that babies and children die because Adam's sin is imputed to them?

Different amounts of grace, different effects of grace, not different kinds of grace.

I would like some perspectives on Revelation.

My wife mentioned this over dinner tonight. The book of revelation has a chiastic structure. From substack The Culturist 6d The Culturist Subscribe Something I find fascinating about the Book of Revelation: it has a chiastic structure. A sequence of ideas is presented up until a central event...

If sin is not imputed without the law, how can some claim that babies and children die because Adam's sin is imputed to them?

What is ir when we love our enemies. Our enemies from their perspective have separated themselves from us; but we choose to remain friends to those who hate us. I can have it both ways. The Bible does not distinguish divide grace into common grace and the grace needed for x, y or z. That would...

What is your view of Ezekiel's Temple?

Your certainty is impressive, but factually unpersuasive. You haven't logically inked the Mosaic tabernacle to idolatry and God's displeasure.

You think God has a different character and uses different scales when dealing with angels? Or is God consistently merciful?
