People used to think that I might be easily offended by crude jokes and try to "shelter" me from them just because I was usually a quiet person.

DROVE ME NUTS!

I laugh at crude stuff. Hmmph! I'm a freakin tomboy!

I guess the thought of me not being this innocent little sheep they pictured was too much for them or something.

Sometimes people think I'm eccentric because................ I try to purposely be like everyone else!!!
 
Sometimes people think I am posh because I have a different accent. (I am in Glasgow with a Shetland accent).

I could do about a dozen of these!
 
I'm pretty sure I already posted this...but...

Sometimes people think I'm a little strange, because I talk to myself and motion occasionally in public...(or more than occasionally... o_o)

Sometimes people think I don't like long sermons................. because I scream out "Amen" when the Pastor says "Now lets close in prayer"

Sometimes people think I'm too serious because they catch me in a moment of silence and deep thought. When in fact I was just half spacing out and thinking about several random nothings.

Well you see, violakat, sometimes I repeat myself because of the blank stare that I think I am getting from them. So, I want to be sure that they understand. So I say it again. Then I get the "I know" in a tone that suggests that I did something wrong for thinking they didn't get it the first time. The truth is that I like communication to be clear and concise. If someone says something, I will respond with "I understand" or I will ask questions to be sure I get the complete picture.
It is hard to know when others understand or not cause most people don't do that. They don't give much confirmation on whether they got the message or not. It is rather important though in my line of work. I like how they do it in the military. "Roger that" OR "Please repeat". Good communication is very important to me.

I think the over explanation gives a more in depth insight into who you are. Don't worry, I haven't quite figured you out. I'm still trying to figure out Ugly and Zero.

Yeah... I was kind of being silly, but then thought it would say something about how important good communication is to me as well. If there is anything you want to know about me, just ask. :-) I believe honesty is of the utmost importance.

Sometimes people think I am irritated because..... I roll my eyes when they ask me "Do you understand?"

Your post made me think of one of my biggest pet peeves. I used to have this male friend
who thought he was so intelligent about the Bible. Every time we would get into a discussion
he would finish his sentences with, "Do you understand?" It used to get on my nerves so bad.
I finally started replying with, "Do I have stupid written on my forehead?" If you heard the
condescending tone he used when he said it, you would completely understand my irritation
with it.:rolleyes:
