No one will know this song (maybe the few Canadians on here) but, Avalanche by Matthew Good

Otis Redding - Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay...

well, I've had Matt Maher's Christ is Risen stuck in my head all day. (♥)
so I think I'll trade it in for Otis. :)

arwen, out of curiosity i checked youtube for Avalanche.
my...i made it through about 20 measures before contemplating suicide! lol

♫ one foot in front of the other ♪ --wow! depressing.
but then, back in 'the day' we had songs like The 59th Street Bridge Song (aka "feeling groovy", she said, completely mortified),
and I Will (Beatles) and other happy tunes.
I think this sort of song is more commonplace now?
My real question, I guess, is how are you such a sweetie pie with that song in your head? lol

Hahaha well it picks up later on in the song lol. Back in the day you guys also had Paint it Black, House of the Rising Sun, the Sound of Silence, etc. too hey? It's a neat song. And his story is quite amazing. He was undiagnosed bipolar for many years and I believe that it is reflectived in some of his songs. I don't know how to answer your question lol. It's meaningful deep music and I appreciate it even though I don't always relate. It speaks to me I guess :)

The Allegretto movement in Beethoven's Sonata 17 -- Got the sheet music a few days ago, and I've been working through it on the piano and in my head.

Usually I've got some portion of the Nutcracker stuck in my head, as I've been playing the entire album once a day - minimum- since last November.

Earlier it was "A Mighty Fortress is Our God".

Now it's Anberlin's "Paperthin Hymn".

On a side note, I never know what to do with periods after a quotation mark when it ends the sentence but what's being quoted isn't a sentence. They just look funny to me all of a sudden.

Meh.

Yeah, it does look funny when you look at it for awhile. I was told that you should include the period within the quotation marks, but I'm not the punctuation police.
