i dont know many christians with sarcastic sence of humour like mine its hard to find. easy to find sarcastic atheists tho. go figure...
Before this gets deeper I will share that I wear makeup because I have a skin disorder. It smoothes out my complexion. I color my hair because I have since I started turning grey at the age of 24. I wax my eyebrows because I choose to. I shave my legs because...well.. I mean... its just gross not to, and I had plastic surgery due to a birth defect.
In saying all that... just because a woman wears makeup or does things with her appearance does not make her a harlot(like someone referenced earlier in the thread) and doesn't mean she is "trying" to be beautiful or she is vain. It doesn't mean she is not Godly or less Godly than someone who chooses not to make herself up.
The same thing applies to the subject of this thread. A woman not wearing a veil does not mean she rebels against the Lord. To judge someone by their looks or what they wear is not something any Christian should do, and when people act this way I think of the Pharisees and how they were referred to as a "brood of vipers"

Many of those who say the law is dead will say woman cannot teach because Paul wrote it so, and they should cover their heads for the same reason. The curse of the law, that is the punishment incurred by breaking it, was nailed to the cross with our Lord, however the wisdom found in the law, the morality and good teachings will never die. Or does anyone dare say it is cool to steal, to lie, to kill, to be irreverent with parents, to use Yahweh, God's name in vain, to have an idol before the Lord God, and so forth. The law is wise, but the curse of the law brings death, that curse is now dead because we have fresh grace daily in Jesus, Yeshua.
Here seems to be the problem, though not for me, are we now under a new set of laws set down by Paul and do we suffer the consequences of breaking them? I think not, we are free to follow the teaching of our Savior, the Gospel. He died to give us this good news, and for our trespasses. Any time a disciple of Christ believes he sees a new set of laws in place of grace, he is not hearing the Good News as taught by our Lord.

Jesus was meaning Jewish man-made law that the Pharisees followed, not God's law which are the Ten Commandments and repeated and strengthened by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.
My post is in direct response to the subject of the op. If you would read my response again, I believe you will understand it to be against rabbinical teachings which had crept into the faith of the Jews at the time of Jesus. The modern day rabbinical teachings are the new traditions of man which have been reared in Christian religions today. We, all, are easily satisfied on just about any issue when we go back to the teaching of our Lord on it. When we do not, we have erred from Him.

I was talking about my sisters in Christ who happens to be my great friends. I love them and I care for them and that's why I tell them that because God has asked us to correct our brothers and sisters in Christ. Because I know they would do the same for me. I maybe self-righteous and I will pray about it. I do tend to get that attitude at times. I'm sorry. But only God knows why I have a burden for this matter in my heart. Only He knows that if there was a list for ”righteous” people I would be last one on it. I'm a sinner. I sin daily. I fail and fall.I don't deserve any grace or mercy from Him. I rebel against Him too. But He gives me chances. To be holy and to be what He wants me to be. Covering my head in church is my way of acknowledging who I am in Christ. It's a reminder to myself that I belong to Him. Like I've already said, my job was to bring it to your attention. Rest is between you and God, dear

Just please be careful how you say things. What may be a conviction to you may not be a conviction to others. I personally feel when one attends church services they should dress their best out of respect. In other words the popular thing now says is "it doesn't matter what you wear as long as you go to church" This is not something I personally believe in.
I wear dresses to services. Not jeans, shorts, or anything of that nature. This is how I personally feel. It was how I was raised. Do I think it is wrong for people to attend services in casual attire? No. I just choose not to dress that way. I certainly don't tell other women they should wear a dress to church because I do.

Well I agree with you on that completely. I do dress my best to church because that's how I was raised too
