Yes it is forbidden, but it's a movie made to capture the hearts of the audience and not in a bad way. Not meant to be used for actual witchcraft, but i saw only love and friendship in those books and movies. Not that it matters anyways, harry potter is over and ppl are more into that twilight series. But even if we saw harry potter as evil there is really no need to worry about it, god is handling everything well.

Nothing's over. It has been pasted on the imaginations of a whole generation of youth.
Satan is not stupid. - 'Just another harmless subject?'
C'mon.

As i said god is handling it, nothing ever happens that isn't in his control. So yes it is well within his handling
Yes. But that does not justify christians to "like" Harry Potter. Tolerance always leads to acceptance and embrace.

My niece was asking me about God a while back and my 9 year old nephew said "zeus" was god..... school taught him that.

taking deep breaths i corrected him.

I remember back now how at the age of about 7 or 8 they would teach us about greek mythology... snakes on heads and all that...

the romans were great, the egyptians were great......... according to someone somewhere...

Blain's not making the best case for HP but it really is of little concern to Christians. Twilight on the other hand, gets off scot-free and it has stalking, incest, abusive relationships, a passive, boring heroine. It's far more harmful than the fairytale magic of Harry Potter.

LoveMe, world mythologies are interesting and worthwhile as long as we don't take them as Truth.

If people tolerate HP then next step will be worse.

Well i don't think Justification has anything to do with it, i am a christian and i love god but i like harrypotter. Honestly i see arguments like this a distraction used by the devil to take our focus off god. We are to test all things correct? scripture speaks of not using witchcraft, But like i said even if it is evil what can we possibly do about it? escpecailly arguing over if it is of the devil or not. It will reach ppl no matter what, i think god would rather us keep seeking him not worrying over such things

That is your personal preference.

If it is not true then how are they interesting and worthwhile?

The Almighty views it all evil and only His Truth is worthwhile.

You are justifying yourself, can't listen to reason or see anything beyond your private horizon. Meaningless to continue.

The enticement.
No one would take it if it didn't look good.
Women's bodies look good.
I chased and hunted them like Nimrod,(the mighty hunter before the Lord).
Using the prefaced logic - 'God made them'.
And such self-condoning reassurances as - "it's only natural".
Overlooking the commandments against fornication,
and ignoring the consecrating spiritual effects of physical mating.
The enticement. - - - - It's always good, - - - do you thing the enemy isn't about 50 times smarter than you?
Satan's an angel(Arch-High), we are lower.
In that sense we can follow him like dupes,(as a third of the angels who were also higher than us,.... did).
The enticement ALWAYS makes sense.
It always has,(to our limited minds); and it always will.

Music is playing its part in the "enticing"......

i would throw the television out of the window.. tho i may follow it if i did :)

Justifying myself? I don't know about that, i am just stating what i believe. And when you say I cannot listen to reason just because i do not agree with you.... I mean that kind of explains itself doesn't it?

Yes, you are justifying your like of stuff such as HP. And you show no willingness to understand another perspective on that than your own. That explains itself well enough.

But isn't that what you are doing as well? And if i were justifying i would have had to done something wrong to begin with. That is why i do not need to justify because i have done nothing wrong. You are very sure you are right, i am sure i am right. If i were to say you are not right just because of what i believe i would be wrong. I don't believe you are right but that doesn't mean you aren't and the same goes the other way around.

Sounds like relative ethics to me. We are several people here who have explained why filth like HP should not be "liked" by christians. You have not listened to this at all, and since you obviously don't agree with that you have come up with arguments, that have made no sense. Go ahead and like HP then and think it won't affect you (but it will). Don't just expect most christian folks to think its not a problem.

I like this psalm. Always makes me think of t.v.

101 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.

So Blain, you are saying that it is harmless. - - - Just a story.
Well, if I wrote a trilogy about fornication and sexual sins, would you judge me then?
