How come women do not cover their heads in Church anymore?

When I was in India, I used to cover my head with a scarf in Church or basically at any gathering, where we took the Lord's name. This was practiced "mostly" by all women there. When I moved to the US, I didn't see women covering their's heads, doesn't matter which denomination Church I went to. At at some churches, I was looked down upon when I did cover my head. I have asked few pastors this question but no one was able to give me an answer that made sense. So help me out people. Thanks in advance. Blessings

The number one reason is that no one in our culture wants to obey God! They do not love God, fear God or obey God! They do what is pleasing to them and twist the scriptures to their on damnation rather than obey the scriptures!
The bible is clear that God wants women to veil their heads while praying or prophecying. And He does not want men to veil their heads while they pray or probhecy!
God is also clear that women are not to teach men or even speak in the church! But people in our cultrue will not obey the scriptures!

Right brother, many people like to twist it and make it out to be something different. It means what it says, they must be careful of leading people astray, especially a young child as her.

Right, I notice a very big trend in this culture of people trying to twist scriptures to make it fit their evil ways. That is why God will soon a very sever judgement here, for reasons such as these.

I should have mentioned, I was born and raised in a METHODIST church and I attend one right now too But the Methodist women in India are very very very different than women here, in the US.

Everything you are saying is absolutely correct, this culture has a very bad habit of trying to twist scriptures. You are correct about the head covering, do not let the people here in this land try to make it look bad God has a very harsh judgement for those that try to change laws and times.

her looks or appearance or anyones lust at all.
Did anyone mention why Paul tied it in about Angels?

Jesus said in Matthew 18 that "If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut if off and cast it from you" and "if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you." Have you ever looked at a woman with lust since becoming a Christian? Then why have you not plucked out your eyes yet?

Obviously, what Jesus said (which the apostles wrote down), Jesus intent, his audience, the circumstances, etc... are important (and in the case of your body very important) in properly interpreting what He was communicating. And guess what, Jesus wasn't telling people to cut themselves to pieces.

If you really believe that the spirit-filled genuinely born again Christian women you see in genuine Christian assemblies here in the U.S. are sinning against God by not walking around with a piece of cloth on their heads, then you have taken the same wrong interpretation of this scripture that many cults and those who fall into legalism do.

In Christian love, sir, that is not accepting what Scripture states verbally, so in my view it is false doctrine. Your personally not accepting 1 Cor 11:5-6 one thing, but I would be really careful about teaching others that they didn't need to obey the Bible.

I have never myself or heard from anyone else about involving Angels in there. Please shed light on that area

Well then why did these "genuinely born again Christian women's" grandmothers or great-grandmothers, covered their heads with a "piece of cloth"? I have talked to a few and they admitted their grandma's did and they didn't have an answer, why they don't right now.

Now you see the inevitable course of legalism. From women covering our heads as a sign of submission we are now told we must not teach or even speak in church, and that in spite of the fact that throughout history God has used women as judges as well as prophetesses, including in the church.

Now notice that these same legalists, usually men, who insist that we women must obey a Rabbinic tradition in order to obey God, which Paul clearly states was not the custom of the churches of God, and which you should carefully note was not commanded in the Law of Moses, at the same time these same men who would bind us with these Rabbinic customs will completely ignore what was commanded in the Law of Moses that they bind themselves with the Telfillin shel Rosh and the Telfillin shel Yad!

The whole point of Paul’s letter to the Corinthians was to correct a number of “traditions” that had been introduced to the Christian congregations by the Judaizers. As I pointed out, women were never commanded in the Law of Moses to cover their heads, that was Rabbinic law, and Paul was laying out the tradition, and the justification for it, but pointing out that it was not the custom of Christians.

It’s the same thing he did when he asked them about the custom that had crept in of women not teaching or speaking in the church, which again, was a Rabbinic law, not commanded in the Torah. After laying out the custom Paul asked, “What? Did the Word of God come out from you? Or did it come to you only? If any man think himself a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.”

It the Rabbis law or the Law of Moses. It is simply the nature who teaches that.
When she cut her hair or he keep long hair, it's against their nature that they are sinning.
I am not condemning anyone but i seems that if man is against his nature or a woman is against her nature, I think they have something wrong with them and may be they are adopting the nature of homosexuality and they even do not know.
Remember the prophecy of Jesus who said that in the last days, the world will be like sodom and Gomorhe.
Paul did not permit women to teach because she sin in the garden of Eden.
Mirriam and Debora were only prophetess and not teaches.

That is exctly what the Bible says, so your fight is not with man, but with God. All those words to excuse disobedience to God's word. It is just like Jesus said, "why call ye me Lord, Lord if you do not do what I say?"
