Tell us the things that you have a soft spot in your heart for...the things that make it melt.

These days, I have a soft spot for anything chocolate.

*Serious comment to make my post legit* As I get older, I find myself having a soft spot for younger people whom I can all too well relate to. For instance, I was at a theme park a few years ago and saw a young guy with his friends... they were probably about 14. And he was going through that awkward phase--I'm sure everyone knows what I mean. I'm sure he was the kind of kid everyone picked on. He also had a very severe case of acne that I know had to be even more uncomfortable under the hot sun and you could tell that he felt out of place even talking to his friends.

I just silently prayed for him. (I didn't want to creep the poor kid out and I didn't want to get arrested.)

But what I wanted to do was go up and hug him and tell him it's going to be ok and that I totally understand what he must be going through. I would have given him my phone number and told him to call if he needed a big sister to talk to. I still think of him, and that was almost three years ago.

I have a soft spot for babies; maternal love (when I see one, reminds me of my own mom); great personality and,.... Naga pork cooked in fermented bamboo shoot (yummy) :D

-the smile and laughter of a child
-watching elderly people who are still very much in love with one another
-fathers sharing tender moments with their children
-random acts of kindness
-the little serendipities of life that God puts in our path
-the sound of my son's voice, his laughter, his smile, the thought of the man he is becoming and the way he kisses me on top of my head just to rub it in that he's taller than I am :)
-my dog plopping his head on my chest in the morning before I'm ready to get up, looking up at me with the biggest loving pair of brown eyes ever :D

....for blood to pass through....

Also pretty much anyone in need.

Kittens. Also, if I see a guy cry in a movie, I get so choked up.

Currently, my biggest soft spot is my niece and nephew whom I've recently taken in to live with me. Their mom (my sister) has made some pretty selfish decisions which have affected them enormously. :( But they are so amazing and joyful despite it all and I am so proud to be their auntie Cat! :D Yay for a full house during Christmas this year!

I have a soft spot for anything created by God containing the breathe of life, especially if that thing is suffering in any way.

The elderly, the infirmed and home bound and the homeless. (and kitties that make me go Awwwwwwwwe)

And Jullianna.. You brought a tear or two to my eyes with your reply.

Suffering..... of any kind. It really REALLY gets to me. I can't even watch movies that have stuff like that in them.

Im not a very compassionate person, but when it comes to that........yeah.

Like the actor crying or a guy watching the movie crying?

But yes Kittens, Puppies, Ill sit and listen to an old man tell stories for hours.

Nod, I am seriously sitting here suffering from a lack of chocolate.

Therefore, I expect that even in a non-compassionate state (i.e., you can just throw it at me), my current state of extreme pain is going to move you to give me some chocolate and ease my discomfort... :D (Puts on sad face for effect).

Escape. I went to see the Hobbit today. It was brilliant just to spend time in another world and not have the news tossed at me.

Well I haven't experienced seeing a guy cry while watching a movie, but I would probably get choked up too. I have had a few guys tell me that they have teared up a bit during watching The Notebook.
