Help with forgetting passwords

This happened to my cousin, Lin, she's been gone for a while and forgot her password... She'd like to get back on, but there's no way for her to reset it from the outside... Any suggestions?

I would certainly agree that it would be good if they could put a "Forgotten your password?" link on the home page in the login area of the page.

She says that its not working, first it told her that her email wasn't recognized and then it told her that she answered the random question incorrectly, and there wasn't a random question to answer

If her email isn't recognized, then most likely her account is deleted, or she isn't using the proper email associated with her account.

What was her user name?
 
Lin/ BlueAngel, she's ben off since sepember, she had to leave so she could go to help our grandma and didn't have internet out there.

Normally she would remember her passwords, but she didn't. She lost it somehow. She remembers all her others
 
Would it be permittable for hr to make another account, since no one can help her with the one she currently has?
 
May want to contact Still directly, seems maybe he forgot about this thread.
 
The account looks like it is still 'intact' - the profile shows up...

The password problem really should not be "that big of a deal"...

(I wouldn't think...)

It won't allow her to change her password, we both know her profile is still up, and that's how we know she's still a memeber, but it won't let her in.

I apologize for not making this clear enough. I meant that it should not be "that big of a problem" for the admins to fix.

Yes, the admins are the only ones that can help with this; they can send her a new password via email if requested. Feel free to contact RoboOp, 1stillwaters, OnceFallen, etc. There is a a list of the moderators here in the forums; you can search them to find the thread. :)
 
I've contacted Stilly, but he hasn't been able to help so far.
Her password (as far as I know) has already been requested, and she checks her email everyday (yes she checks her junk and spam mail as well).

Is it the email account that is linked to her CC account? That may be why she isn't getting it in her email. Maybe she is checking an account that isn't listed as her email on here?
 
It should've been. We got a little bit of help from an Admin..... We don't know how well it's gonna work just yet.
 
If it comes down to it, request an Admin delete the account, and then she can re-create it (or register a new name if she wants).
 
Then she'd have to track down all her friends again, and she's got numerous messages on her account that she has t been able to reply to
