But all joking aside, in my old church whenever my pastor would say something like "Satan wants to destroy you" people in the congregation would say "Amen"

Don't they realize amen means "Let it be so." Does anyone else here go to a church where people haphazardly say "Amen" to literally everything, regardless of the context?
