The first scripture i memorized was John 3:16 and it is also my favorite scripture
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son for who soever believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life (:

Mine was Philippians 4:13

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (KJV)

Well to be honest I don't know but i have to say i do know Acts 2:38 Hebrews 12:1 i guess i could say i memorized Psalms 23 first.......

JOHN 3:16!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOO! HOOOOOOOOO! So, yeah that's preety much my first scripture, He had me at 'believe'! It touches me every time!:)
" For God so loved the world, He gave His only beloved son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." -John 3:16, Jesus our Saviour

I cannot remember which one I memorized first, but I can DEFINITELY remember the first one I memorized, understood, and took to heart. Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; Do not be discouraged; for the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.

That verse..... GAAAH... I just cannot describe how inspiring and amazing it is. It has helped me SO much.

well shoot. remember how you start to remember something and then it goes poof and away and awwwwww its gone??? yeah just totally had one of those moments haha.
It was Psalms. This is going to bug the you know what out of me until I remember what verse it is....get back to ya, lol.

Psalm 46:1

"God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
"

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.

Ps. 51:10

Kingdom Greetings and blessings to all of you. My first scripture was the very first chapter and verse in the bible. :-).

Same, John 3:16. Memorized it when I was real little, before I went to school.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call upon me and I shall answer you and show you mighty things that you do not know :)

Nice, i like this idea. I can HARDLY wait!! I am very partial to- I Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the Cross is Foolishness to those who are Perishing, BUT to Us who are being Saved, It Is The POWER of God. AMEN- it reminds me that there are those, who just dont get it, sadly enough. An offended Christian: is as useless as a soldier without his weapon. Gods Speed to you all

Psalms 23 and John 3:16; to which come first, either of the two...but Psalms 139 has more impact on me, i can relate much on every verse [i can memorize up to verse 18 of this].. :)

Genesis 1:1 on my own or the Lord's prayer from school... it was one of the songs we sang in assembly before I was really a christian but I do like Psalm 46:1 :)

I memorised this verse through a church youthgroup, Ephesians 2: 8,9 and 10, 'For its by faith you have been saved through faith and this not from yorselves it is the gift of god, not by works so that no one can boast. For we are Gods, workmanship created in christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.' By the way we put to a song, it was easier to remember that way! :)
