Laodicea;603883 said:All I see in your posts is your own words no Bible. If you are going to say that the SDA doctrines are error then please back up your claims with Bible.
Laodicea:
Scriptures say:
1. Colossians 2:16-23 KJV
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon,
or of sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is Christ. Let no man beguile
you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which
he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the
body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase
of God. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in
the world, are ye subject to ordinances, [Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with
the usingafter the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom
in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh".
2. John 20:1 KJV
"The first day of the week cometh Mary Magedalene early, when it was dark, unto the sepulchre,
and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre".
3. Acts 20:7 KJV
"And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached
unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight".
4. Acts 10:13-15 KJV
"And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter, kill and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord: for I have never
eaten anything that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What
God hath cleansed, that call not thou common".
5. Acts 11:9 KJV
"But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common".

While you have given some texts you have not given any doctrine they are referring to. If you are referring to the sabbath, then Colossians is talking about the ceremonial Sabbaths not the weekly sabbath. Look at these texts in Leviticus 23
Leviticus 23:32
(32) It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
Leviticus 23:35
(35) On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
Leviticus 23:36-38
(36) Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
(37) These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
(38) Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.
These texts are talking about the 7 feasts which were called Sabbaths or holy convocations. Also notice that Colossians says sabbath days not 'the Sabbath day'. So from this it is clear that Colossians is talking about the feast Sabbaths not the 7th day Sabbath
Leviticus 23:32 "It shall be unto you ..." That is, unto Moses and the Jews. You don't have to be(come)
a Jew to be a true Christian.
I already proved from Acts that the Church met on "the first day of the week"
(Sunday), not the Sabbath. So you ignored Acts.
As for Colossians ...
Colossians "sabbath days" includes the weekly Sabbath day.
Laodicea;604291 said:Colossians does not include the weekly Sabbath, read the context, do you understand about reading the Bible in context? Also you are putting your own interpretation into the Bible, the Bible is to explain the Bible
Acts 20:7-11
(7) And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
(8) And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.
(9) And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
(10) And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
(11) When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
Do you know that in the Bible the day starts at sunset, so at night on the first day of the week would have been Saturday night and they left early Sunday morning they didn't stay to worship on Sunday morning. So they would have had worship on Sabbath and it continued into Saturday night and left Sunday morning.
Laodicea. That is totally wrong. A book can't explain anything. Only a person can explain a book. (see Acts 8:30-31). What is the basis of the true interpretation of the Bible? The Church that wrote the Bible, and the Church in apostolic succession from the Apostles who wrote the Bible (1 Tim. 3:15). The Church, NOT the Bible, is "the pillar and ground of the truth" (ibid.). Only the Church has the Truth (Matt. 16:18), and She shall prevail against the heresies.

PS Only someone with a mind can explain a written text. A book doesn't have a mind of its own. The Bible must be interpreted according to the "mind of the Church".

Adventist's in the first place.
what I mean by that is though they may have been genuine they really did not understand nor search
enough to understand what we teach.
Even many Adventist today who still go to an adventist church do not know nor have they studied their
bibles properly to know what we believe. But when these ex-adventist people challenge the church using
Ellen White then they have lost their cause already. Everything that the Adventist church teaches is
deeply entrenched in Scripture.
Blessings.
Dear gotime:
The words "Seventh-Day Adventist" are not before "Church" in Matthew 16:18.
So much for SDA being "deeply entrenched in Scripture"!
