Belief in God isn't ultimately an intellectual pursuit. The intellectual indeed is important, but that isn't what produces within us a saving faith.

The only thing I can tell you is ask Jesus into your heart and ask Him to start speaking to you and let Him open you ears to His voice. I can give you facts, truths etc, but my words are almost meaningless, when you can just ask Him to reveal Himself to you, and He will. God bless

Hey well this is my very first post on this forum but I'll give it my best shot. We all go through periods of change, well most of us, where things aren't always going so bright. It may be because we're doing wrong things and just slowly moving away from God or we just lose interest because we haven't been spending time with God. Being with God is a relationship. You say that you always believed in God but now you're not so convinced. Are you sure you gave God your best shot? There's so much more to just saying you believe in God. Maybe if you were willing to truly open yourself up to Him, God will reveal himself. You just need to be brave enough to take that first step and seek Him with ALL your heart and soul. Then you'll grow so much in faith and there won't need to be convincing because you'll just know. If you are looking for a reminder about God just think about life. How was life created? There must have been some sort of designer ? Designer=God? Things don't just happen BAM BOOF. There's a reason and a cause and life is no exception. There is a reason you are here and you must have been made from something. Here's a wonderful quote that I want to share with you

Maybe you have heard this quote before. Hopefully not but think about it and then it should help you understand that we are not from this world. There are miracles that do still happen today, there are so many like myself who can testify and say that there is and must be a God and plenty of research conducted around the Bible and such. Seek God and it will make sense. You can't expect God to do all the work for you and you need to give Him something to work with and then things will change. You won't just believe, you'll LIVE it.

I feel your are desperate to find something to show you that God exist. Living your life believing that God loves you and through Him you reach out to others.But in order for you to find true peace you first have to believe or have faith so you can choose to find God in the little things that are in your life. I choose the light of Jesus to shine on me and on my life. No I have not always been this way but looking for the dark is not the answer. God is with you every step. If you step out in faith I think God will show you the good in your life. But He is not going to do a big show for you to invite you to follow Him. He just quietly give you the invitation, and say follow me. Even when things are going badly I knew He was right with me.He knows what's best for us.By his grace,he will back us up when we set our hearts and pursue his kingdom and righteousness so trust in Him if you dare, but do it because you want to feel His loving arms holding you. God bless ..
This arguement seems a bit of a cop out to me. Using things we can't explain as evidence for mythological/supernatural creatures/god's is just bad science. That's like ancient Egypt inventing all sorts of god's to serve their every whim. If they needed water, they would pray to their "rain god". Then if it rained, it would confirm said rain god's existance. They just didnt understand how things in nature worked. They knew they needed things, like crop growth, water, warmth, light, etc... and had no way of explaining these things.
But just because you don't have the information necessary to make great theories or to have certain evidence, does not mean you should resort to your imagination to explain things.
We don't have all the answers. We may never have all the answers. That does not prove the existance of a Flying Spaghetti Monster.
No-one can really "convince" you....in the end it's your choice to accept that there is a God and that Jesus died for you on the cross and to give your life to Him...but I can tell you that if you do it, it will be the best decision you've ever made...He is so awesome and loving that He's even helped me with my depression issues. Seriously, if I didn't have Jesus in my life, I wouldn't even be on here. I'd be in Juvenile Detention, because that's just how I used to be. A kid with a really bad temper and had the potential to be violent. Thank God I never made it that far. I decided that it was time to get serious about God and so here I am. Not in Juvenile Detention, recently relieved of depression, and all for Jesus.

No you're not blocked...I got mad at you once and removed you from my friends and only friends can message me (I can't find the settings to change that, either!)
But I never said that being a Christian was a cake walk, and that we could do whatever we want. When it comes to Christianity you have to give up a lot of things. Well, you have to give up everything. You gotta let go of yourself and you have to let Jesus be in charge...besides, Him being in charge is a whole lot less of a train wreck than it is with me being in charge. There's two roads. The broad, and the straight and narrow. Broad might be easier because you don't have any rules, no one in charge but you, but in the end? Crash and burn. Literally.
Straight and narrow? A lot higher standard of life...you have some rules you need to abide by. And even though it might seem hard, it'll be worth it at the end. And it's not like when you become a Christian the fun gets sucked outta you or taken away from you. There's a lot of things you can do when you're a Christian. But there's things you can't do, too.
In the end? Your choice.

But another thing is, you gotta understand that Jesus DOES do things for us when we decide to follow Him and do what He says. So it's not like when you decide to follow Jesus, Jesus is just...there. He's fully active in our lives. And He DOES do things like what He's done for me. Jesus DOES heal, He DOES bless, and when we think we've just about had enough of it all and you're ready to give up, He DOES help you.

Godlover79, rather than looking to people (I mean this IF you've looked to God FIRST and haven't seemed to get any answers or whatever), look up. Your Dad's up there, loving you. Rather, He's right in your heart. John 14:26 - "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." Ask Him to help you remember all the victories you've had and what He's done for you. Praise Him to no end, and you'll find yourself pretty amped up about Him. If anything, remember that He loves you!

my personal story, and everyone's is different with God, because it is a personal relationship was like this, when I was coming back to God but in an entirely new way,
I grew up in a Christian Household, I grew up under great teachers, but I was distant and cold to God, I was not in love with Jesus, I knew his word I even had the Holy Spirit, but I felt like I was rejected all my life I never had the revelation of love,but when I was forced to make a choice to come back to God, one day in church I was praise and worshiping and I said "God ..I recieve you.." I said some other stuff
well later on people were reading scriptures and one person said. "God wanted me to say.
"I recieve you." It was like God was telling me he knew what it was like to be rejected more than anyone and like someone who was recieving love for the first time, he opened his heart to me. I started to cry really hard.
Thats just one of my short stories, anyway my point is,
think on the lovely things always, and always listen because God is showing you how much he loves you, every single day.
how much he wants to spend time with you. He does have feelings and his heart does break, if you give him that chance he's gonna show you how much he loves you.

Well, let's take a look at the earth. Everything works together in this world....and so, SOMETHING intelligent must have been behind this, and not just something that's random. I mean, the way trees work in the environment and give off oxygen and take in carbon dioxide...the way the atmosphere on the earth is just right for animals and humans to breath, every single creature is unique in their own way....so obviously there IS something superior that's made all of this. Well, since you say God has to be a possibility, we're gonna make him the top possibility right now.
So you say you believe in "God." Well, there's only ONE, TRUE God that created everything...Genesis 1:1 says "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth." and the God in the Bible is the God Christians believe in...no other religion claims that their god created the heavens and the earth. Most (reason I say most is because Mormons and I think Muslims say that the earth was created) religions don't even say A god created everything...they don't even touch it. Christianity is the only one that says something intelligent, aka God, was behind the making of everything, so that's fairly significant, I think.
So if that portion of the Bible is true...what about the rest of it? Can the rest of it be trusted? I think so. Reason I say that is because, why should you trust something you can only half-believe in, or even a little more than half-believe? And if you truly read the Bible cover to cover, I think you'd get your answer.
Just to note, I'm not saying that God is real because the Bible says so. I'm giving you some things to think about, though...giving you some comparisons and stuff...

It kind of made sense, but are you arguing against me? But I think you missed my point. From a scientific stand point, one could argue that one true God does exist. Based on the infinite laws of probability behind string theory, God must exist. That isn't random. It makes God an expected and quantifiable measure.
