First I'm not a officer, retired state prison who took the same traning.

I say we should always obey the officer.

If the officer is wrong NOW is not is not the time for sure their are some bad ones., matter a fact my wife left for one, who was in trouble for beating up drug dealers for their drugs. Of course it was covered up.

Consider this why is the officer in your life right now?

Something he did?

The problem today is not those who carry weapons, it's the politicians who put a target on their back and when they are doing there job not taking their back.

A few days ago, an officer (don't remember it all, but think this is was the situation) officer pulled an Illegal Alien over he had no id, couldn't speak our language the officer called ICE later the officer was fired or something becasue it was a sanutauay city and aginst their policies.

I don't think officers have a problem with good guys carrying guns.

Keep in mind, if a bad guy is doing something and he sees someone with a weapon, they are his first target.

Nope, I don't think your weird, I think your looking out for yourself we all need to.

I am so glad I was not an officer. I'd prolly have turned into a hard core punk by now. I like helping people but police work isnt helping people as a general thing.

"I don't think officers have a problem with good guys carrying guns."

Some do some don't. I was having engine troubles and had my head under the hood and a cop silently slid in and walked up on me. And he says, engine trouble? I said a little. Sir you prolly should know I am armed and it's on my dash board. He said thanks for telling me.. He didn't even step over and look at it started talking about my truck again! A real nice guy.

Another time I'm pulled over or something, so I put it on the dash real quick and he's telling me to step out, so I do We go back by his cruiser and I tell him right off I am armed, it's on my dashboard. And he freaks out. STarts asking me all sorts of questions and makes 5 or so trip a few steps closer to my truck to look at my gun again? Why do you have a weapon?
For the same reason you do Officer, it is a dangerous planet...Now he had pulled me over for some extra petty traffic thing, I forget what, but he didnt have PC or AS for anything and he knew it and hated it. He didnt like me having a pistol. But he couldnt do anything about it and had to let me go, lol.
I have a bunch of these kind of stories but was totally blessed by God to never having any weapons charge against me. It was actually easy, I just wasnt a punk! Lol. I bet I've beem inside a bank(s) armed to the teeth hundreds of times, maybe thousands (1K maybe ), and never was tempted to rob one! So what you dont do they cant charge you with.

If your life is truly in imminent danger, shooting to "injure" is a good way to die. Cops have always been taught to aim for center mass with multiple rounds. If your life is not in imminent danger, you have no business shooting anyone.

First in NJ there are 13 state prisons or was.

So there were a lot of Corrections officers, the govenrner had a great idea since we all went through the same weapons traing and classs's on deadly force, when to use it when not to.

Why not make them Police also? So we are or were called correction /police officers.

If the police ever need back up for a riot or something just a phone call and hundreds of officers would be available.

I did them training courses 28 times, once a year.

NOT ONE TIME, NOT ONCE was I EVER told to shoot center mass with multiple rounds.

I have been traind to stoot to STOP.

We are also 100% responsible for every round that leaves our weapon.

So center mass is the target, if you were ever being shot (I have not) it's not like at the range and hitting a target.

I would bet it's more like stop who is shotting at you, and your sure not going to be stooting at a leg or an arm.

What happens if you miss that leg or arm, and the bullet goes somewhere and hurts someone else? We are responsbile!

What state teaches "aim for center mass with multiple rounds"???

You say, "If your life is not in imminent danger, you have no business shooting anyone"

What do you call imminent danger? To each their own!!

A 280 pound man with an angry face, approaching an 120 female officer in an imminent danger since she has no idea what his intent is.

v/s a 280 officer approaching a 120 female who was called on the scene for a specific reason.

Police are people too, I don't understand why any would not like you carring.

When I'm carrying and there is a office in need, I'm would be pulling out my badge so he's knows I'm on his side and help.

If I didn't have one, may be best to stand down you don't know whats going through his mind at that time. BUT if he gets hurt or needs help jump in. Of coures that's if he has no other help.

I like others carring weapons and I appricae you telling the offices you are armed.

Keep in mind, we have officers on the job for the first day and some with many years.

I know it took me a few years to figure out the best way to deal with convicts behind bars with as less as possible aulteracations.

We are trained to NEVER have our weapon off of our body! Not in a backpack or whatever has to be attached somehow.

In the late 80's early 90's the police used to shoot criminals to injure them. To immobilize them. They then changed it so it was shoot to kill. They said the reason was it made it cheaper.

So what happens when they shoot to kill rather than injure? There is nothing to investigate. The person who was the cause of this shooter is hidden. This means people can convince other people to go on a shooting. Assassinations can be done and the person who is behind it will be hidden. When the gun man is dead, the police can use their poetry and make it look anyway they want.

Another reason they started shooting to kill, rather than injure is because of sport. The police just wanted to kill people.
I don't know that most police want to kill people. Some evil cops, yeah, but I doubt that it's most of them. Ultimately, killing someone is the best way to know that people are safe. An injured guy with a gun can still kill.

I do agree that the same rule should apply for all, although increasingly difficult in this time where even the judges and politicians are corrupt.

I don't understand it myself. But they get a dislike from somewhere. Seem like most of them are young cops. Prolly got introduced to guns for the first time on the force. Like it that they can carry, but it's unfair for me to be armed. Honestly, I dont think I would offer to help cops in trouble. Bad idea I think. They dont know me and are in the middle of trouble of their own? That's liable to get you shot! Real life isnt like an action movie. So somebody who wasnt me blew the roof off of the Nakatomi building. Send more police!
