The subject is drunkenness and how God forbids it. But alas, satan and his cohorts love feeding the flesh and causing others to fall into his ways.
The thread started with a study showing that alcohol is bad the health. I simply pointed out that it is possible to find a study that shows anything can be hazardous to health. Is drunkenness a sin? Yes. So is idolatry. How many people share that sin these days? Way more people idolize and are addicted to their cell phones these days than alcohol. Are phones bad? No. Are guns bad? No. Is alcohol bad? No. Anything can be idolized or used for evil though. I’ll stand with you any day and call idolatry, murder, and drunkenness bad but I can’t agree that and inanimate object is evil. The golden calf wasn’t the problem. The worshipping of it was the problem.

How is saying alcohol is not the problem but the misuse of it is deflecting?
You remind me of the Pharisee, or Sad-u-see (lol), that sees himself as pompous and self righteous, and goes down the street accusing Jesus for drinking and eating, with unwashed hands, with tax collectors and sinners.
They were more concerned about the broken Tradition of washing the hands and drinking/ eating with sinners…..
If the subject was actually drunkenness then there would be no discussion. I haven't seen anyone post in favor of drunkenness. I am personally very much opposed to it.

I'm empowered by the Holy Spirit so it's His strength power and ability flowing thru me.

The smart ones have 4 stage filter systems in their home and are drinking the clean water.
Man made traditions are to drink the booze not abstain from it.
You and your Pharisees and Sadducees buddies already know that which is why you people advocate for drinking the booze.

Those that don't have the Holy Spirit to lead them in to the whole counsel of God will never know, but will contin ue asking such questions

There is no command in God's Word saying "and thou shalt drinketh thy booze" so we know the Holy Spirit is not leading anybody to drink the booze.

The Drinking prohibitions IS man-made, but you refuse to see that; there is absolutely nothing biblical about that. So I would say all your pious words against others are pointing back to you.

Then don’t drink it. Not sure if you know this or not but secondhand drunkenness is not a thing. So you don’t have to worry about those around you drinking causing harm to your health. Do you not have any planks in your own eyes that you should be worried about? Maybe you should get a mirror and check before worrying about anyone else’s splinters.
