ouch

We were NOT discussing the word SHALL

We were discussing the word SHOULD in the KJV and how it means WILL.
Correct.
No problem brother.
Yes. This is what I mean.
The moment we beleive in our heart that Jesus is our Lord, we will be saved.
THEN we will get to know doctrine.
Or maybe NOT.
I know persons that know NOTHING of theology,,,but they are certainly saved because they're depending on Jesus to save them.
I believe both.
But I cannot be baptized the moment I'm saved.
You said nothing that could offend.
It's a good conversation.
Evening with the guys!
God bless you too.

Thank you, I have NO IDEA why my brain went to shall.

So here's the problem with thinking you are reborn the moment we believe.

At that moment, you have all of the sins you were born with and since sin sperates us from GOD no way could we enter Heaven.

Think on this, if we are reborn the min we believe but JESUS says we have to be born of water and of spirit to enter did HE lie?

I know you would never call JESUS that but it can't be both ways and GOD does not change.

WE have to obey HIS rule book the way it is, some people say we are saved by grace alone.

How many different oppinons are there?

GOD can't change HIS rule book to fit all of their thoughs!

GOD BLESS YOU.

By the way, I'm still waiting for you to explain why Paul said there is only one baptism.

Who's deflecting now?

I ASKED YOU HOW DO THEY GET RID OF THERE SINS?

You say, "By the blood of the Lamb. Being baptized into His death is what deals with our sin."

You answeres always lead to more questons!

1. HOW DO WE GET BAPTIZED INTO HIS DEATH???????

And then you say your not deflecting, AND I'M THE ONE WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND.

YOU ARE IMPOSIBLE, SHOW ME WHERE THEY WERE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST!!!

Acts 2:37-41
King James Version
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

2. SHOW ME WHERE THEY WERE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST!!!

YOU CAN'T!!!! YOU'RE WRONG!!!!

DEFLECTING!!!

Wonder why I said I'm done with debating with you???

You WILL NOT ACCEPT HIS WORD.

You want me to explain one baptism, answer my two questions first.

As you can tell you are still belietering me, it's ok I know where it comes from, that's between you and JESUS I'm just pointing out something else you need to word on.

YOU ARE IMPOSIBLE, SHOW ME WHERE THEY WERE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST!!!

Show me where it says they weren't filled. Does God keep His promise or not? About 3,000 were baptized and added that day. Are you going to say God did not keep His promise and baptize them with the Spirit? Being added means they were saved. How can a person be saved if they are not baptized into Christ?

Acts 2:41
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

You answeres always lead to more questons!

1. HOW DO WE GET BAPTIZED INTO HIS DEATH???????

But I have answered that. It is a work of Christ. He baptizes us with the Spirit.

John 1:33
And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

DEFLECTING!!!

I am not deflecting, you simply refuse to believe what is written.

You get rid of sins by the blood of the Lamb. That is basic Christianity 101. Here it is in black and white.

Matthew 26:28
For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

You're the one who is impossible. I answer your questions again and again and you carry on as if I have said nothing and then start yelling at me.

Christ's death dealt with our sins. When we are baptized with the Spirit we are baptized into His death, the very place our sins were remitted.

1 Corinthians 15:3
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

Romans 6:3
Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

If you expect me to answer your questions then how about a little reciprocal respect and answer mine instead of just yelling at me.

As you can tell you are still belietering me, it's ok I know where it comes from, that's between you and JESUS I'm just pointing out something else you need to word on.

I see, so you can say I'm deflecting but that isn't belittling me but if I say you're deflecting that is belittlement? Give me a break.

ACCORDING TO THESE SCRIPTURES!!!!

Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

You TWIST HIS word making statements that when we are filled with the Holy Ghost that is what removes our sins right? If so, IT'S A LIE!!! If it was true you could back it up.

ACCORDIN TO THESE SCRIPTURES, HOW DO THEY GET RID OF THERE SINS?

For the last time, they are baptized into Jesus. The name of Christ is His person.

We pray in the name of Christ. What do you think that means? We are not toasting Him with a glass of water are we?

I have backed it up. Water does not get you into Christ. It requires the power of God the Spirit.

Romans 6:3
Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

You are so full of preconceived errors you simply cannot see what is right under your nose.

grace and peace

Last time??? So to remove their sins they were baptized, when they are being baptized they call on the name of JESUS.

After the do that their sins are gone, your replies are so confusing like you trying to hide something!

There are plenty here who understand what I say. I am not that confusing. You don't "call on the name of Jesus". He is not a busboy you call down from heaven to wait on you. You believe in the Gospel, the power of God unto salvation Rom.1:16 , and He baptizes you with the Spirit and you are saved. Good News indeed!

How do you get baptized into Christ?

As above.

Yep I don't understand.

I'm OUT!!!

MM. We know each other from another Forum and y ou know I will not be agreeing with you.

Sorry. I have no idea who you are, were or will be. I did answer your above post last night, but the crappy servers that host this site went down again last night, as they do almost two otnthree times a day, just as I was trying to reply. I will try to post my response frkm last night this evening after I get to the house from the office. Blessings until then.

Yes. It's you.
Nice to see you here.

I didn't mean it as a symbolic formula.
I just meant to say that we are saved by blood and water.

I don't claim to understand baptism 100%....
but if Jesus said to do it...then we better do it.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

If water baptism were an element of our salvation today, then Paul would stand as having grievously sinned by omission by giving only a distant and imprecise set of criteria for our salvation. That would indeed nullify his apostleship by any reasonable standard set forth by the Bible.

Additionally, given that ALL scripture is inspired by God Himself, He too would stand guilty for misleading all who read the above verses. Leaving out ANY element necessary for salvation in a statement that clearly says that THIS is the pathway to the bestowment of salvation, that would lay at the very feet of God an accusation for omission of eternally critical information as to how one is saved. If one is going to assume Paul was merely summarizing, which is a denial of inspiration, what would be the purpose for leaving out such a vitally important element if it were indeed still valid as a required act, work, to obtain salvation from the Lord?

My experience with this is most avoid answering this directly and, instead, deflect and divert over into some other argumentation thinking they will win the day by way of red herring tactics, but I'm hoping you're a cut above those others and will answer this with whatever you think is an answer to the specific question asked of these verses only for now.

Thanks.

Rule Book 😔

Would I be saved being I’ve never spoken in “tongues”?

Lets look at HIS word!

JESUS said,
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Born of Spirit,
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Peter said,
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

JESUS said,
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

So you never sin after being baptized? If so would have to be re-baptized? Makes no since.

Rule Book 😔

This is AFTER we have been rebon,

I only share HIS rule book, I'm not the one who died for you.

1 John,

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Yep I’ve read all those scriptures so I’ll rephrase my question. As you interpret scripture am I saved since I’ve never spoken in tongues? Having grown up around around many with these beliefs and currently being married to one who was raised with these beliefs these beliefs, I’ve wondered are the ones that pretend to speak in tongues because of the peer pressure saved also?

Again I have access to every version of scripture. I’m more curious about your interpretation and belief. If one’s sins are only washed away through baptism and that person sins again after baptism, would he/she have to be rebaptized?

Also calling the Bible a rule book is very sad. The Bible is a love letter from God to His children. It’s not a set of rules on how to play the game of baseball. There is no love in any rule book I’ve ever read I’ve never read the rules of monopoly and thought that the little guy with the hat loves me.
