- it will be very highly likely to be because cloudflare will not let me on the site - never getting past proving that I am human - again and again and again and again and again - until I just give up...

Ahhhh you must have a very slow internet connection!

That usually happens to me when I am at home. I can get signal here, but not very strong. Out here in the country my cell phone signal works dependably but also eventually. And sometimes it seems like that verification is never going to go through. Often it has to restart multiple times, while I wait and wait and wait.

Do you have a PC or a laptop? Never tried to access this site on my cell phone. Actually, the only thing that I know how to do is to make the occasional infrequent phone call.

I thought phones were for phone calls.
Do you mean they can do more?

I have one of those, but I never put it online.

Or rather, I never put Windows online. If I want a laptop interface online, I boot from a Linux flash drive and connect my laptop to my phone hotspot.

Try using the audio verification instead of checking all the squares. It's not as frustrating.

Same and it is annoying.

@Eli1
can you paste an image of the audio selection of the "I am not a robot" spiel? so that everyone can see what I'm talking about? ...or does anyone know what I'm talking about?

If i catch it next time it happens to me i'll take a screenshot but it's usually a good protective measure when dealing with spam accounts of flooding the forum with requests which in-turn makes the site slow to navigate.

I get on okay but Firefox hesitated the other day claiming something about this site being careful about security yada yada

Oh, as a matter of fact, I did think it was peculiar that there were only two hundred and some guests on last night now that I think about it...

See if you can get a screenshot next time but my guess is when we use a VPN ( i use one sometimes ) and you jump from one VPN to another, there could be one which does not transition into HTTPS but stays in HTTP.

Something like this for example:

Those are crawl engines a lot of times, not actual humans. Bots crawling the web so then "ai" gives you a nice response after getting all the data from the web.

That makes sense. If there's a feature trying to determine if you are a robot, there must be a need for determining if you are a robot.

For a while now, it has been in-and-out on a somewhat regular-but-random basis - if that makes any sense.

Sometimes, there is no problem - other times, it is next to impossible...

The one I've been getting lately is more automated, requiring no input from me. I don't know what it's checking, but it takes a while to load on my connection, and in places where connection is slow sometimes it reloads multiple times before it completes.

Sounds too technical for my limited reasoning to fully grasp.
