I indeed baptized you with water,
but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

New King James Version
Mark 1:8

Have you been baptized in Jesus name?

There is only one baptism that saves and places us into the body of Christ and that is Spirit baptism, not water baptism.

Ephesians 4:5 - ..one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

1 Corinthians 12:13 - For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. *Also see John 4:10,14; 7:37-39 for the word drink(s) and see the connection with the Holy Spirit.
Hey MMD
Nice to see you here.
We can't even agree on baptism??

Could you please define spirit baptism?
Thanks.

(my name was not avx ).

You can get that much?
But think beyond that level?

What you do is deliberate.
Your goal is to become a center of attention upon yourself.
Not, God's Word.

But, you do so in the name of God's Word.

It is shameful.

LOL, so all you do is put me down and insulte me and I'm the one putting the attention to my self.

And I'm shamfull.

Did I ever tell you all you want to talk about is ME and your rude???
You manipulate others with feigned stupidity.
Thank you for all of your kind words.
We can tell a tree by it's fruits.

No ussiue I
You're saying that belief in Jesus is to no avail.
And yet we're told by the Apostles that belief in Jesus will save us.

John said:
3:16
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.

Paul said:

Romans 10:9-10
9 [a]that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, [b]resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, [c]resulting in salvatio
n.

Peter said:

Acts 4:12
12 And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.”

The bible is indeed our authority...but ALL scripture must be reconciled with itself...
verses do not stand alone.

In my scenario, I would be saved because I was justified and made righteous by my faith.

Ephesians 2:8
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and [a]this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

If I died the next day, unbaptized, I'd still be saved for the reason I gave in the verses I posted.
WHEN a person understands that he must be baptized...then he becomes responsible for taking this action.
And even if he cannot be baptized, for whatever reason, his DESIRE FOR BAPTISM will cover him until he can be baptized.

[QUOTGE]I was pleasantly surprised by your comments to me and then I seen your comments to the saw dust guy defending baptism.

Since I have been on this sight I will say most of them don't believe in it, GOD put this in my spirit.
We must do all that Jesus commanded.

If we become saved in a desert...with no water anywhere...
we will still be saved.
OOO NO, I believe that's the key factor.

Believe, repent, get baptized in JESUS name to remove our sins and pray for JESUS to fill us with the Holy Ghost like HE did HIS disciples in Acts 2:4.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

KJV does not use the word "WILL not parish" but the word "SHOULD NOT PARISH"!

The reason it say, should not perish because if you believe in HIM you should not perish.

JESUS speaking in Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Meaning we will want to obey ALL OF HIS WORDS and after we are reborn we will work for HIM.

The word will not, mean all you need to do is believe. That's deceiving.

PS, that was JESUS doing the talking in 3:16.

If you look at Romans you will see Paul is speaking to his CHURCH not the unsaved, he is telling them to get out and preach as you will see if you keep reading.

Look how Romans 10 starts,
verse 1, Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

Acts 4:12 just love HIS word.

We are saved by grace, again Paul is speaking to his CHURCH
Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

If you were not baptized and died, you can think anything you like that does not make it true.

How do you explain we are born in sin, sin separates us from GOD and you think with that sin we will go to heaven?

If we must do what HE commanded us to do, why do you believe John 3:16 but not John 3:5??

If we become saved in a desert with no water, I would ask how can that happen without water?

NOTHING LIVES WITHOUT WATER.

We all have choices to make.

Two things noted and have been determined by now.

 1. You know what you are doing.
 2. And, you are up to no good.

You are divisive. And it can be seen that you are not a baby Christian.

Yet, we keep treating you like you were a baby?
Because you think with the Bible like one.

What does God's Word tell us to do with a divisive person?

Look it up in your King James.
Tell us what it says.

Who cares, your the one who thinks I am.

What does the bible say about you attacking, insulting and putting me down?

You don't have to convince me ouch!
I agree with all.
Acts is what happened after Jesus ascended.
It's history and may or may not explain all theology.
All of the NT is written to us.

AMEN, but what parts of the NT is not?

Not saying it all is?

I know JESUS came for the Jews only but when we were grafted in we all became the same in JESUS eyes.

I had company.
I basically agree with your baptism doctrine but I just think you take it too far.

I think you either believe it or not?

So I think your saying we need to but if no water is around it's ok without it?

If we become saved in a desert...with no water anywhere...
we will still be saved.

OOO NO, I believe that's the key factor.
You're pretty darn stern ouch.
Luckily for us...God gets to decide and not anyone on this Forum.

How's this:
We must follow Jesus' commands WHEN WE ARE ABLE TO.
I hate to bring this up...
but do try to remember the thief on the cross.
No water.
He still made it to be in heaven that very day.

Believe, repent, get baptized in JESUS name to remove our sins and pray for JESUS to fill us with the Holy Ghost like HE did HIS disciples in Acts 2:4.

So what does it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit?

And you still haven't replied as to how the Holy Spirit is obtained.
Is it through baptism or some other way?

I asked you if I needed to go to an Assembly of God church to be saved, (not that there's anything wrong with it).
you never replied.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Oh my.
I just got here and will say this quietly:
In the KJV the word SHOULD means WILL.

Look it up, don't take my word for it.
I like more modern bibles - I don't have to translate first.

JESUS speaking in Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Meaning we will want to obey ALL OF HIS WORDS and after we are reborn we will work for HIM.
Agreed. We must be baptized.
You just take this a bit off the rail.

The word will not, mean all you need to do is believe. That's deceiving.

i agree.
I never mentioned FAITH ONLY.

What do you believe JUSTIFIED means?
If we are justified,,,are we saved?
You'll find the reply in Ephesians 2:8

Galatians 2:16
16 nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of [a]the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of [b]the Law; since by the works of [c]the Law no [d]flesh will be justified.

We are justified, saved, by faith in Christ Jesus.
Justification is immediate.

So I think your saying we need to but if no water is around it's ok without it?
Yes. Of course.
God is a just God and is a merciful God.

God knows the heart...isn't this what the NT teaches?

If we die unbaptized,,,but we WANTED to be baprized (when we realized that Jesus commanded it)
isn't that a matter of the heart?

Didn't Jesus say that if we hate our brother we've killed him already? Matthew 5.

If in our heart we desire baptism..BECAUSE we're saved...
but we die without it...
WE WILL BE SAVED.

Otherwise we create a conflict in scripture that states that our faith saves us.
AFTER faith...THEN we are also required to obey Jesus...
the best that we can.

LOL, so all you do is put me down and insulte me and I'm the one putting the attention to my self.

Okay... I* get it.

This is what it amounts to.

Satan needs a hero to promote the false teaching of water baptism for the church age.
And, you've been a chosen one.
You're special....

And, he brought you here to toughen you up and to train your mind to withstand all reason.

You're good at it.

But Christians who desire to think with the Word of God with understanding and insight?
They can see you coming a mile away.

For there will always be the wise amongst us.
You play games and manipulate.
Your shield is not the Word.
Your shield is your ability to withstand reason and to keep flying your plane in to the Twin Towers of the Church.
Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time.
After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such
people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned." Titus 3:10-11

JESUS commandes were not suggestions, they were commandamnts.

Please BRING UP anything you like!!

The thief died OT laws, NT laws didn't start until Acts 1 or 2?

I can go in more detail if you like, when JESUS was here he forgave his sins, now we have to follow the rules on how to get rid of them. Acts 2:38, 22:16.

JESUS said,
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

JESUS said,
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Peter said,
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 10:46-47 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

We are responsble for being bapitzed to remove our sins.

JESUS is responsible for filling us with the Holy Ghost.

In Acts 2 they were filled first and can't prove it but was baptized with the fokes there that day.

Acts 8, They were baptized fisrt and had to send for Peter and John to receive the Holy Ghost so JESUS didn't fill them for days maybe weeks later?

Acts 10, JESUS filled them first then was baptized.

Acts 19, They were baptized and Paul laid hands on them and JESUS filled them.

Sorry I missed that question, I don't get into denomantions so many with so many differnt beliefs I just stick with HIS word.

You for sure don't have to be in or belong to any church to be saved, just need someone who knows HIS word like a JESUS disciple.

LOL, to LOUD LOL.

Learn something new, I will not say that again LOL, Thank you.

"Will" and "shall" both indicate the future, but "will" is used for general intent or prediction, while "shall" usually implies obligation, duty, or high formality. In modern English, "will" has largely replaced "shall," which is now mostly used in legal contracts (meaning "must") or questions like "Shall we go?".
Key differences between them include:

I'm sorry for saying that using the word "WILL" is deceiving as I said I learned something NEW!! Thank you forgive me.

No problem brother.

Since Paul is speaking to a church they have allready been saved, so they were justified!!

When you say we are saved by faith, do you now mean the second you have faith your saved and justified?
Yes. This is what I mean.
The moment we beleive in our heart that Jesus is our Lord, we will be saved.
THEN we will get to know doctrine.
Or maybe NOT.
I know persons that know NOTHING of theology,,,but they are certainly saved because they're depending on Jesus to save them.

You said nothing that could offend.
It's a good conversation.
Evening with the guys!
God bless you too.

Well, usually persons are submerged in water.
If I tell someone I'm going to be baptized...they'll get a picture of water.
That's because WATER was used to baptize.

So? Are we just obeying people's subjective understanding now?

This might even work as a theory...
except that the Apostles passed on what they learned...even when they were not so slow anymore...
and they taugth that WATER is to be usesd for baptizing.

So you say, but not theory. Peter forgot stuff he should have known and didn't always get things right.

Acts 11:16
Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

Galatians 2:11
Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;

And HOW is this done?
MUST I attend an Assy of God church or I will not be saved?

Huh? It is a work of God, who says you have to do anything except believe in Christ.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Sir, who told you that baptism is a symbol?
Jesus didn't seem to think it was a symbol.
Jesus commanded that it be done.

According to you. I see Jesus commanding baptism in the Name of the Father, Son and Spirit, not in water. How can one be submerged in the character of God? By being baptized with the Spirit for there is the fruit (characteristics) of God. Gal.5:22

If you think water is powerful enough to deal with your sin and transform you inwardly, go for it. No skin off my nose mate. :)

Again,,,,HOW is that done?

Honestly again, Huh? How can you not know the answer?

John 1:33
I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.

You don't call this belitting?

To be honest, you have me worried. You do not seem to understand the basic concept of what the Gospel is or what actually results from believing in Christ.

You think caring about your well being is belittling? I do not know what to say. Should I not care that you speak as though you do not comprehend the most basic Christian understanding? So far you have denied the Trinity and you can't seem to understand it is in Christ we are saved, not water.

I ASKED YOU HOW DO THEY GET RID OF THERE SINS?

By the blood of the Lamb. Being baptized into His death is what deals with our sin.

Matthew 26:28
For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Hebrews 9:22
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

Rom.6:2-4
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

WHY DEFLECT??

I'm not deflecting. Why are you not understanding basic Christian doctrine?

I'm not deflecting. Why are you not understanding basic Christian doctrine?

Seems to be the norm now a days. :cautious:
The "worker bees" are out in full force, we used to have a smattering here and they see to be the majority now.
