Another thing to remember is that about 100 people were prosecuted for "crimes" committed on January 6th, mostly trespassing. Although there were clearly other crimes committed by those who broke into the capital building, those who incited the riot and the man who left a pipe bomb, most if not all of those people were not prosecuted nor did they spend years in prison.
Meanwhile an estimated 1 million people were at the January 6th rally.
So then 99.99% of those who attended the rally were not prosecuted for any crime. Two people were killed, both by capital police. Neither was armed. No one in the crowd was convicted of being armed with a gun. So why was this described as "an insurrection"? If 99.99% of the people who attended were not guilty of any crimes isn't it reasonable to wonder about those we saw who did crimes, maybe they were not even part of the rally which could also explain why they were never prosecuted.
