So you think Jesus spoke King James English?
That the King James was good enough for the Apostle Paul?

If the King James were consistently saying the same things as the Greek and Hebrew?
Then you would be sharing HIS Word.

So far?
I would not say you are dumb.
Just ignorant.

Sadly, being stubborn and stupid will keep you ignorant.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid. Proverbs 12:1

As I said you are very rude.

I also told you, I don't get in to insults, I know where they come from.

Show me how I disagree with them like you do Acts 2:38.

I do not disagree with the scripture, I disagree with your interpretation. This is what doesn't seem to get through to you. You keep insisting it means to be baptized in water even though water is not mentioned and there is only ONE baptism. Eph.4:5

You keep insisting on two baptisms, one with water and one with the Spirit. Christ does not baptize with water and His is the only baptism that can save us. We are submerged into His person, that is what it means to be baptized in His name. In Him is where our sins are dealt with once and for all time, nowhere else, certainly not in water.

Romans 6:3
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Water can never do that, only the Spirit is powerful enough to do that.

I have explained these things enough times and yet you also insist I never answer your questions.

I wish you would debate with me, but you have not once given an answer to any of the scriptures I have presented. You simply accuse me of hating God's word because I don't agree with your interpretation.

You said, "Christ's baptism actually deals with your sin."

Where does that come from, can you prove it?

"only the power of the Spirit with the word of God (Jesus is the word) can be effective when dealing with sin."

How did you come up with that?

Why are you even asking this? Christ died for our sin, we are baptized into Him, He is the propitiation for our sin. Do you not understand what this means? It is basic Gospel message 101.

1 Corinthians 15:3
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Romans 6:3
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Romans 3:25
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

To be honest, you have me worried. You do not seem to understand the basic concept of what the Gospel is or what actually results from believing in Christ.

I fear it may have been another spirit that has taken hold of you. I pray this is not the case and that you have simply been taught poorly.

grace and peace.

You say I intrepert Acts 2:38:39 as it's water WHEN YOU SAY IT'S THE HOLY GHOST right?

Here it is.

Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Since this verse mentions THE PROMISE of the Holy Ghost but no one is filled with it how do they get rid of their sins?

KEEP IT SIMPLE NO NEED TO BELITTLE ME, JUST STICK WITH HIS WORD.

Hi Sawdust
New here.
Interesting topic.

John baptized with water to prepare for the Kingdom that was about to come in the teachings of Jesus.
John baptized for the forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 3:11
11 “As for me, I baptize you [a]with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you [b]with the Holy Spirit and fire.

He stated that Jesus would come baptizing with fire and the Holy Spirt.

In the Mosaic Covenant the Holy Spirit existed, of course, but He did not indwell persons.
In the New Covenant the Holy Spirit can now indwell persons.
This is because Jesus is God and when we accept Him, we will be indwelt with the Holy Spirit.

However, when Jesus told the Apostles to go and teach all nations and to baptize them...
He meant with water, and Jesus even gave them the FORMULA for baptism.

Matthew 28:19
19 [a]Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

In the NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is a formula...
No formula necessary for when we are indwelt with the Holy Spirit.

Water is always necessary for baptism: (even after the resurrection)

Acts 8:36
36 As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch *said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?”[a]

TK

Would you please interpret that word INTERPRETAT, for me?

This is why you are a problem for yourself.
I'm sorry all you do is attack me, I really don't think your intrest in anything I say is a good one.

In stead of being all puffed up with yourself you shoud be lifting me up but you put me down.

You have the opportunity to help show how sins are remitted, something positive.

You really should do a self check.

Best of luck.

Peter made a mistake because of inexperience. It took Peter some time to finally realize what baptism we are to receive.
Like all of us when we are new to Christianity?
He made mistakes.

Here Peter finally realized it and admitted his mistake...

I am only sharing His Word!

“As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning.
Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized
with the Holy Spirit.’ Acts 11:15-16
Why haven't you tried sharing Acts 11:15-16 with us?

Here it is in the King James....

And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized
with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
How does that sit with you?

........

I'm not saying anything, I'm sharing HIS word.

One thing we see in HIS word is when we get baptized in JESUS name is the only way we get rid of our sins.

As you can tell with HIS word JESUS filling us with the Holy Ghost is something totaly different.

Are you saying you never can sin anymore?

Are you referring to Acts where it asks: HAVE YOU BEEN BAPTIZED INTO JESUS' NAME?

Acts 19:3-5
3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” And they said, “Into John’s baptism.”
4 Paul said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 When they heard this, they were baptized [a]in the name of the Lord Jesus.

The above is just to differentiate between the baptism of John and the baptism of Jesus with fire and the Holy Spirit.
John's baptism was only for repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Jesus' was for receiving the Holy Spirit.

I'm not saying anything, I'm sharing HIS word.

Why are you the only one sharing his word?
And, we are not?

There is only one Lord and one baptism. One!

Your way of sharing the Word ends up showing two baptisms for the Church age.

You are not sharing correctly.

Peter made a mistake because of inexperience. It took Peter some time to finally realize what baptism we are to receive.

........

ALL OF HIS WORD IS GOOD, what are you saying??

Peter made a mistake do to inexperience!!!!

Is that in HIS word, or are you interperting it?

Show me where Peter said, I made a mistake!

Are you ONLY SHARING HIS WORD, or your twist on it.

Just to clarify:
When we're baptized...two things happen:

1. All our sins are forgiven.
2. We receive the Holy Spirit.

What happens when you get rid of your sins?
Are you saying you never can sin anymore?

LOL, they ARE GOON!!!

I never said you will sin no more.

You have never said you have gotten rid of them no matter how many times I ask you.

Have YOU been baptrized in JESUS name to get rid of yours?

Are you referring to Acts where it asks: HAVE YOU BEEN BAPTIZED INTO JESUS' NAME?

Acts 19:3-5

The above is just to differentiate between the baptism of John and the baptism of Jesus with fire and the Holy Spirit.
John's baptism was only for repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Jesus' was for receiving the Holy Spirit.

Lets look at verse 5 AND 6.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Did you notice the same thing like Acts 2:38-39 BUT in this case the promise was fullfilled?

They were BAPTIZED THEN PAUL laid hands on them and then they received the Holy Ghost.

Your statement is deceiving!!

Have you received the Holy Ghost like they did????

How were you baptized?

ALL OF HIS WORD IS GOOD, what are you saying??

Peter made a mistake do to inexperience!!!!

Is that in HIS word, or are you interperting it?

Show me where Peter said, I made a mistake!

Are you ONLY SHARING HIS WORD, or your twist on it.

This is why you think I am rude.
You refuse correction after making dumb mistakes.
We all have made dumb mistakes!
I have had my share.

In the beginning Peter made some mistakes.

Like when Peter suggesting they vote to see who was to replace Judas.
We don't vote to grant someone a gift!
The Holy Spirit determines who gets what gift.

All the gifts are produced by one and the same Spirit.
He gives gifts to each person, just as he decides. 1 Corinthians 12:11

Even Paul made a few mistakes.

And, now it is your turn.
You are making some mistakes.

Not rude. Just sharing His Word.
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but one who hates correction is stupid. Proverbs 12:1

Just sharing His Word.

Why are you the only one sharing his word?
And, we are not?

There is only one Lord and one baptism. One!

Your way of sharing the Word ends up showing two baptisms for the Church age.

You are not sharing correctly.

So you say.
