Says the man who tells me the Millennium began in the first century? ....

Says the man who told me the Rapture is not what many in the church believe it to be?
That getting caught up in the clouds and being given our glorified bodies is not a true doctrine.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel
and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and
are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be
with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
I didn't say it wasn't a true doctrine. But it sure sounds like the apostle thought it was imminent. So imminent that not everyone he was talking to would be dead when it occurred. Hmm. Did he get this wrong or did it occur as he proposed?

That is not what you told me.

But, I see now how glib you are in making stuff up as long as no one else knows what you said....

1 Jn 1:7 ... and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

The context of this verse, and all of its cross references, speak of The Light, not the water.

So you don't trust that JESUS will remove your sins when we obey and get baptized in HIS name?

I love all of HIS word but what does 1 John 1:7 have to do with being baptized?

It does say if we walk in the light, how do we walk in the light?

How do you think we get rid of our sins?

For saying that I said that...

I would like to know what post it was that you think I said that.
We all make mistakes.

....

We sure do,

Isn't that what you said?

Retired Law....

This pastor you should relate to, instantly!

Did some pastor tell you that?

That was a question, can you answer it?

Why do I need a pastor, I can think on my own.

How do we know when we obey JESUS and get baptized in HIS name that our sins are removed?

Because HIS word says so, so I have faith that HE did and I was just asking that question to someone else!!!

Proplem is people think just faith alone saves them which is not true.

It is THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Not Jesus.

The calvies and the Armins never say........THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.......Unless they are put under the gun or prompted.

Get dunked all you want "in Jesus name." Until one figures out He is The Lord Jesus Christ......it's just swimming.

I know it's important how we are baptized.

Do you really think if I get baptized in the name of JESUS is different then in the LORD JESUS CHRIST?

Isns't understanding that JESUS is GOD all that matters?

I sure know we can not get baptized anyother way.

Can you back up with scriputre plesae.

We sure do,

You make stuff up! Are you one of those guys who thinks the Holy Spirit privately mentors you?
You read the Bible for yourself but keep failing to know what the Bible is saying with accuracy.

Have you read Proverbs 3:5?

That is what your problem is.
You are doing just the opposite.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

Everything is your own understanding.
And you are really messing things up.

Retired law? Do you mean a lawyer? Or, police? I thought you meant police.

That was a question, can you answer it?

Most pastors are lousy teachers these days.
2 Timothy 4:3, says that they will be.
And, I bet you see them as teaching no better than you can.

But, to mature in Christ?
You need to find a good one if you are ever to outgrow the self-inflicting errors you keep convincing yourself to be truth.

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,
to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all
reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining
to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13

You can't do it yourself. If you were once a lawyer? You should know better.

Threads like this one and many others have proven that men's knowledge and understanding have made them equal to the Pharisee and Sects we read in the Bible.

The discussion might no longer be about resurrection that separate beliefs but the understanding of Election, Predestination, and Foreknowledge, Baptism, the definition of one who is Apostate, or how to define the True One God as triune have replaced it.

It's amazing how far apart many are from another in belief and understanding while professing to be following the same God.

No one believes their knowledge can be lacking while judging differing viewpoints as if it were trash needed to be tossed away.

This Forum and many others truly have become the modern day Sanhedrin. Members discussing hot topic man made Biblical beliefs are indeed the Sects that were once known as the Pharisee, the Scribe, the Sadducee, the religious Zealot.

A Den of Thieves...

Works-base religion followers are not easy to get through to them the message about the suffiency that's in the shed Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Dare they be asked what they would say to the Lord if asked at the pearly gates why He should let them into His Heaven, the answers the majority would respond with would be like a resume', none of which will ever suffice of their good works or good deeds, to which the Lord would respond to them that it's never good enough whatever they think to offer in the place of the absolute sufficiency that's in His Blood alone...

That's the unfortunate power religions hold over the blind masses with their buildings and professional staffing with worthless degrees lining the walls of their offices. Mankind has a sick fascination with modern-day pastorates, following those losers as if they were infallible. So few teach what scripture actually says in context and in relation to systematic study.

So, getting most to allow themselves to be weaned away from the teat of fleshly pride rooted in works-based religion and the salvation mere religion offers to them, the warm fuzzies in all that are just too comforting to the flesh to walk away from in the roar of worldly pursuits and pleasures that drown out the simplicity that's shown to us in the Gospel preached to all today from the Bible.

Those Pharasees still served a purpose, for as it's written:

1 Corinthians 2:8 — Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

They were instrumental under the guidance of demonic princes to bring about the shedding of the Blood of Christ Jesus. The mystery hidden in God that is today very real, that is what ensured our salvation through His shed Blood for us all.

Who said I don't have a good pastor?

You do a lot of assuming?

Shy you angry at me, did I show you something you nevers saw in HIS word?

28 years state prison, was you in one and don't like me because I was on the other side?

That is not what you told me.

But, I see now how glib you are in making stuff up as long as no one else knows what you said....
No. You misinterpreted what I said, and have continued to misrepresent what I said.

You didn't answer my question: did Paul get it wrong when he told his audience that some would not die before these things came to pass?

So you don't trust that JESUS will remove your sins when we obey and get baptized in HIS name?

If you ever want to learn the Bible beyond your back wood's hillbilly interpretation?
There are a few good pastor-teachers out there to learn from.

You are an ignorant teacher looking to see if you can impose your distorted thinking upon others.

Sorry, buddy. You know not what you do.

You are still able to sin. New sins that have yet to be sinned.
Read 1 John 1:9 and try to figure out that God had not removed your ability to sin.

You still can sin!

If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

1 John 1:10

That was a question, can you answer it?

You can think on your own. Sure. We all should.
AFTER being taught correct doctrine.

After learning sound doctrine you will need no man to teach you what to think for yourself utilizing the benefits of the sound doctrine.

Problem is. You cut out God's provision for storing up the needed truth to think for yourself with.

What you say may sound "religious" to someone uninformed.
But it is dumb how you are handling it.

You are not reading a Bible.
You are reading a translation.
Mistakes in intended meanings are easily missed unless someone can show you what the translator was working with.

You want to stop being stupid?
Get a good teacher.

If you think you are self-sufficient?
Don't need good teachers?
That was the sin of Satan.

This much we can know from a decent translation:

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For those who have been taught well?
You come across as dumb.
Not wise.

Be careful of the voice in your head that guides you....
It is not the Holy Spirit.

No. You misinterpreted what I said, and have continued to misrepresent what I said.

Yes!

What things? Come on! Chapter and verse. What did Paul say?

Come on. You quoted the verses. You can't remember your own posts. Review post #5140.
Paul says to his audience that all would not sleep before the rapture occurred. Did he actually believe this?

Yea, I don't get into insults sad people have to?

I guess it makes them feel big?

I don't ever recall saying we will not sin after we have been reborn.

Do you mind showing me where I did?

Yea, I don't get into insults sad people have to?

I guess it makes them feel big?

You know me so well, but still have not shown me what I said that was in error?

Come on dude, show me or stop with all of the theater.

Let me ask you, have YOU received the Holy Ghost since you have believed???

Acts 19
King James Version
19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

How about telling me about your self so we can know each other better.

Since I have been filled with HIS spirit it's JESUS who leads me, sure I listen to men follow JESUS and HIS word. Are you one I can follow?

I for sure am not perfect and when you show me what I said that goes aginst HIS word then we will both know what I messed up on.

So HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST SINCE YOU HAVE BELIVED???

If so explain what happened, and show me my errors.
