I never made the claim in the first place that any symbol had only one reference. You assumed and then insinuated it without any justification. I simply made reference to 2 passages.
Have nice day. Mr., "I Am Innocent."

Jesus was speaking truth. The way we know He was speaking about the gospel is because we compare scripture with scripture. Again, both water and Spirit are referring to being born again. This is evidenced by the parallel construction of verses 3 and 5.
It's an assumption on your part to say Jesus spoke within the confines of his knowledge given that Nicodemus didn't understand what Jesus said to begin with.Truth to a man who thought his IQ was enough to understand the word of God.
We can compare, but Nicodemus could not compare the scripture you continue to reference. Jesus spoke to him within the confines of his knowledge base. It is 101 when interpreting scripture to understand it on the basis of the original hearers knowledge.
At best, Nicodemus would have thought John's baptism or the purification rites of the Law when the word "water" was mentioned.
You seem to be under the impression Jesus speaks to people above their pay grade. Jesus expected Nicodemus to understand him based on OT scriptures alone.
John 3:10
“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?
If you want to see water as being symbolic for the Gospel in that passage, go for it. However, it does not justify the insistence on being baptized with water for we live in the reality of being purified by grace through faith in Christ. Symbols are for the past. There is only one baptism for the Church and that is being baptized with the Spirit.
It's an assumption on your part to say Jesus spoke within the confines of his knowledge given that Nicodemus didn't understand what Jesus said to begin with.
And I've never equated water in the verse for baptism. You must have me confused with someone else.

I was offering an alternative understanding to what was being proposed. If you were so astute, you might have noticed that. Also, you might have noticed that believing water to be the word of God would preclude it being baptism. That was the argument you entered into. You should have checked what was being said before you poked your nose in.![]()
Jesus spoke to innumerable people. He always and only shared truth. To some it was given to understand. To others, not...Matthew 13.Then why did Jesus expect him to understand?
John 3:10
“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?
So no, it is not an assumption on my part. Plus, it is simple common sense unless you think Jesus doesn't want to be understood.
Grace and peace.
Jesus spoke to innumerable people. He always and only shared truth. To some it was given to understand. To others, not...Matthew 13.
You just can't stop being a troll. It's all good is in reference to Romans 8:28.Eve stood in front of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil observing it.
A tree that she was warned not to eat fruit from....
Then, suddenly.... in a very quiet way.
Appeared out from the bushes...
Was a creature.
A creature with a message for her.

You sir are a liar. I do believe in the rapture and the Millennial reign.Truth?
You mean, truth like the Rapture and the Millennium?
Which both you denied as they are revealed in the Scriptures?
That kind of truth?
You told me that the Millennium began in the first century of the Church age.
That was almost 2000 years ago.
When the meaning of Millennium means 1000 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium
And, as far as the Rapture goes?
You said to the effect that there have already been several raptures
You are a good one for rightly dividing the Word of God?
Now you are trying to screw with what it means to be born again.
I wonder what organization you really from.

You obviously didn't read Matthew 13. Jesus spoke in parables knowing certain people wouldn't understand. How can this be true of someone who only expected understanding.Sorry, I can't read minds and I never claimed being astute.
Is this why you always feel misunderstood? You never expect people to understand you?
You confuse Nicodemus' lack of understanding with Jesus' expectation.
John 20:31
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
You can't believe what you don't understand.
Also John 1:12Thank you, we all need to be humble as none of us will know it all.
Key thing and most important is being reborn.
Peter is the one with the keys and the first ones to be reborn was the ones who were responsible for putting JESUS on that cross.
Now that's what I call forgiving.
We all have the same opportunity today.
There is ONLY one way to get reborn and that is found in the book of Acts.
You obviously didn't read Matthew 13. Jesus spoke in parables knowing certain people wouldn't understand. How can this be true of someone who only expected understanding.
He obviously doesn't understand by his answers, and the question is Jesus' way of both making that plain and chastising him.How about you look at the actual story in Jn 3. You don't say to someone ...
John 3:10
“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?
That is a question that expects understanding. It is not a matter of Jesus always expecting understanding, It is in this matter He did in this instance.
When my pastor gives his teaching, I expect him to know what he is talking about. I don't expect that of everyone who calls themself pastor and teaches.
Teaching false doctrine is not all good...You just can't stop being a troll. It's all good is in reference to Romans 8:28.
Perhaps you should stop then?Teaching false doctrine is not all good...
