Happy MlK Day! Hopefully you're not caught in the 100+ car pileup in MI. I keep telling myself it's almost spring.

Otherwise I hope everyone is enjoying Martin Luther King Day. Many don't know that he was a firm friend of Israel. He stood behind their right to exist and saw how important that was to the world. At least that much we all agree on, or at least I think we do.

I have no wish to upset or offend anyone please believe me .
I adored Martin Luther King , I thought he was a truly awesome human being for so many reasons .
Then came the ' freedom of information act ' and a new documentary about him in the context of lots of new information that had just been released to the public through the freedom of information act .
I'm not even going to discuss what I learned . Check it out for yourself but , before u do , prepare yourself , it's about as bad as bad can get 😞 . Literally broke my heart .

Where can I find information about, lets say, a friend from high school or something? is that possible @Suze ? I noticed that if I write my full name in google that google AI wrote a biography about me lol. i was like, "i guess i'm a celebrity now"

I will.

I also admired King, even though I knew he had Communist tendencies, but now I’ve learned, although he was a minister, he was NOT a Christian!!

He WROTE that he did not believe in the virgin birth, that Jesus was God, or that Jesus was resurrected.

Definitely disqualifying.

MLK/FBI, 2020.

"MLK/FBI is the first film to uncover the extent of the FBI's surveillance and harassment of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Based on newly discovered and declassified files, utilizing a trove of documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and unsealed by the National Archives, as well as revelatory restored footage, the documentary explores the government's history of targeting Black activists, and the contested meaning behind some of our most cherished ideals."

It's a great documentary. This film is about the FBI's relentless attempts to discredit MLK. They weren't successful and he will always be remembered as a great civil rights leader.

I shall c if I can find it and watch it . The one I saw talked about the fact that the FBI bugged every hotel room he ever stayed in and what they heard him get up too . Very unsavoury but , I shall keep an open mind . I genuinely loved him from being a child , thought he was so brave to stand up for equality and human rights and justice . I hope what has been put out there about him is untrue but , it seemed legit to me 😞 .

It sounds like MLK/FBI is one is the one you watched. It's mostly old black a white footage with commentary.
