"Dead faith" is who they are at their core being.Everyone who consumes dihydrogen oxide eventually dies, but that doesn't mean they died "of" it.

Red Herring fallacy."Dead faith" is who they are at their core being.
You can die with dead faith but not of it being the cause. James defines dead faith as being faith without works. The opposite would be living faith because it has works. A true faith would be living. A living tree bears fruit. A dead tree does not. Either way the fruit is not what saves the tree. The root system is where the life comes from. Just as our faith in Christ. One with a true or living faith will bear fruit. Their faith in Christ(the root of their works) is the only thing that can save them.Anyone who dies and has dead faith, dies of dead faith.
This is a false dicodomy. It is common for people who preach false doctrine to view people who disagree with their doctrine as disagreeing with the Bible. They see their view as being the only correct view and refuse to consider evidence that challenges their view.Is Jesus a liar, or is the Scripture being corrupted
It is ok with me for you to attack those who adhere to "faith alone", whatever that means. But your accusations that I am one of them and that I use it to justify sin are unfounded and presumptuous. Your judgements reveal a judgemental attitude, and it would be wise for you to consider that God will measure you by the same measuring stick that you use against others (Matt 7:1-2). As a practical matter, this means that you are more than likely experiencing more of a sense of guiltiness and insecurity than you are heaping on others.by your Faith Alone, in order to justify your own continued sinful heart...
You see how captive you are to the Faith Alone ideology? The only way to be justified by Faith Alone while doing unrighteousness, is by having an unrighteous heart. If the heart is pure, and the life clean escaped from evil doing, then what need of any Faith Alone to save apart from good works? Faith Alone is only necessary to justify with evil works.
It's actually saying the opposite. Walking in the light is what iluminates our understanding that we continue to be wholey dependent on God's mercy for the sinfulness of the flesh and that we receive it when we acknowledge the sins and sinfulness that come from our flesh. In any case, reading all Scripture with pure eyes toward God and His righteousness: Anyone saying they have no sin, while walking in darkness, is deceiving themselves. The same as anyone saying they are in the light, while walking in darkness.
1Jo 1:6
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jo 1:8
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
The apostle is not speaking of himself nor any Christian, at any time of walking in the light, with no works of darkness. Only if a believer is walking in darkness, then any Christ, including an apostle, is lying to himself, if he says he is still saved in the light with Christ.
Your objection to faith alone seems to be rejection of salvation by grace through faith in favor of salvation by works of righteousness which must be done. This is a common view, unfortunately, but the wrinkle here is that your version seems to allow for no sins whatsoever. It is hard to understand why anyone would adopt that standard for themselves unless they are deceived about their own sins. It's a rebuke to the justification by Faith Alone ideology, that James 2 rebukes. Which says, that any believer doing evil, if he have Faith Alone in Christ, he is still walking in the light and justified with Christ.
That's only what Faith Alone Christians say to themselves, not what Jesus Christ says to the churches of God.
Well said. The simplicity of Christ is the simplicity of His words.Saving faith in Christ is faith that trusts in Jesus Christ "alone" for salvation (Romans 4:5-6; Ephesians 2:8,9) which is not to be confused with an empty profession of faith/dead faith that remains "alone" - barren of works. (James 2:14-26) The latter is not genuine faith but a bare profession of faith.
Yes but one must also walk that way to be saved at all. So, unless you are advocating for salvation with evil works, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.Yes but one must be saved first in order to walk that way. So, unless you are advocating for salvation by works, we are saved by grace through faith alone in Christ.
Dead faith mean dead faith; dead faith is unbelief.Clueless means clueless.
Dead men tell no tales.Dead faith mean dead faith; dead faith is unbelief.
Yes but one must also walk that way to be saved at all. So, unless you are advocating for salvation with evil works, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
It's not by accident that some people insist on preaching Faith Alone in Christ, and not faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Just quote the verse about "faith alone". Should be really simple. No offense.
An accurate quote from another's argument, rather than rearranging it into something else. Rare again, thanks."Do we believe Jesus Christ is God? Good. Do we believe Christ saves us whether doing good or evil? The devils also believe. "
No sure how, since the verse is, as you say, quoted within the context of works, not just faith alone. This is not what James said at all. He was talking about deeds/works.
Running with Jesus in a verse of Scripture is mute?? Seriously? How can anyone not 'run' with Jesus in any verse of Scripture in the Bible? Should we not run with the Jesus of Rev 22:21 in Gen 1:1?Faith with out works is dead. He said to them...you believe that there is "one" God. You do well, devils also believe, and tremble. To run with "Jesus" in it, even if they (demons/fallen angels) believed in Jesus .. its mute.
Later you added what is not written in Gods word "And the devils also believe, but still do evil works.
even if they (demons/fallen angels) believed in Jesus .. its mute. No where is it written Satan nor fallen angles, demons believe in the Messiah.. Gods only son.
Salvation is only for man period.
Later you added what is not written in Gods word "And the devils also believe, but still do evil works.
Because they believe Jesus is the Son of God. And unlike some men that also believe, the devils believe His every word of judgment is true:They said to Him “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”
Before the time.. they knew what's coming for them but not right then. Before the time.
The good I want to do I don't do. The sin I should not do I do. Its no longer I that sin but sin that is in me.
This is true for partially reformed religious sinners, who do less evil than before. But it's not true for the wholly transformed pure religion of Jesus Christ:We have the old man the new man.
In my previous experience as a hack cabbie, I picked up a young man. He saw my Bible
and we started discussing it. He claimed he was 'holiness' variety, so I politely asked:
"What happens when you get angry with your wife?" Oh, he said, that is just a mistake.
So much for 'No sin' with "faith PLUS works", eh?
Why would someone who says he "will sin again" want the blood of Jesus to cleanse him from sin?Why would someone who "has no sin in him at all" need the blood of Jesus to cleanse him from sin?
I am today. So you’re saying you’re perfectly righteous and never sin?
Tell me straight. Do you never sin? If you do sin, you are a hypocrite. if you say you do not sin, you are a liar. Take your pick.
You have no idea as to what it means to be saved from sinning. You have no idea as to what it means to be saved.
