People who are obsessed with the timing of the Lord's appearing are walking in the flesh. It's not spiritual and doesn't demonstrate faith in the Lord; in my opinion.

Maybe so but not everyone is. I'm not obsessed with the rapture and I'm not a date setter. It's pointless to do that because we don't know when and the idea is to stay ready all the time. (hmm cloudy today, it could happen).

It's still a good topic though, to discuss because as a pre tribber I have to say. hey, time is short and everyone should be watching now. The post tribbers use to call me names and try to imply that I was evil somehow for believing in pre trib. But if you think about it, that's stupid. The pretrib guy is ready sooner and watching for Jesus...and that's dangerous how? Why? How can watching sooner be bad at all?

No one is calling me evil yet so this might be a good thread. If time is really short then I should discuss this topic with my post trib Brothers & Sisters so they don't accidently not be watching and miss the rapture and have to go through the tribulation, ouch.

Let's just hope that the post tribbers have some class about it, lol.

It teaches people to not worry about the antichrist which is dangerous.

I'm sorry, what translation is that in? My KJV doesnt say that, it says yeah tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death, I will fear no evil.

When scripture repeats something, you know it is important and God wants us to learn that. Well, do not fear, fear not and all those phrases are the most repeated statements in the Bible. Do not fear is in there hundreds of times!

I can't recall anywhere it says except the anti-christ?

We're not told to watch for Jesus' coming, but to watch ourselves so that we are not being led astray and ashamed before him when he does appear.

I'm sorry that we disagree. I knew I would be in the minority. That's ok . But I have to disagree with you that you have the doctrine which "proves" your case. The only problem is, that's a different subject. What I have been talking about as a pretribber is a relationship thing and not doctrine.

Suppose post tribbers are right...I am the crazy nut that has been staring out the window looking for Him! For a long time! What harm is there in that? It's Jesus Him self that I speak of! So I watched early, so what. I bet Jesus would like that!

The thing is, how do I really know if I am rapture ready? and I know I can not lean upon my own understanding, so it's already time to say come on Lord we're waiting. Except most people are not waiting or watching.

But if you are dead you are dead. Persecution is its own issue.

Depends on where you end up. The Bible says many will fall away from the faith and pte-trib false teaching contributes to that, Many who believe in that are not preparing to endure the horrors of the great tribulation and will fall awat and betray the brethren. So if one falls away from Jesus, they will end up in hell when they die.

That's why people need to prepare and endure faithfully with Jesus - because we will all go through the GT and many of ius faithful ones will die at the hand of the antichrist for not worshipping and not taking his mark. But our salvation remain intact and we go home to be with our Lord Jesus.

So yeah, dead is dead, but it's important where you end up after that.
.

🥳

Feel free to hang around for the tribulation. It's not for me, thanks.

You won't have any choice in the matter. You will go through the GT like everyone else. When you're there, read all the tribulation verses over again and you'll realize you read it all wrong.

No? Hebrews 9:28. Not everyone eagerly awaits the return of Jesus. I do.

We all look forward to Jesus coming to take us, but He already said He'd collect us AFTER the GT. I know you won't believe this, so I'm going to let the events speak for themselves when they come to pass.

I did. Feel free to show me;

2 Timothy 4:3 states:
"For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around themselves a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."

That's why you can't see or understand it.

I agree with you that we are watch ourselves to keep from going astray, but Jesus DID tell us to watch for Him too. I don't have much time at this point so I had AI put the reply together for me. I checked to make sure that it is what I wanted to put together myself:

Yes, Jesus explicitly told His followers to watch for His return.

In Matthew 24:42, He said: "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming." This command is repeated in Matthew 25:13: "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour."

Jesus emphasized this warning through several parables:
  • The faithful and wise servant (Matthew 24:45–51)
  • The ten virgins (Matthew 25:1–13), where those without oil were excluded
  • The talents (Matthew 25:14–30), highlighting readiness through faithful stewardship
  • He also linked watching to spiritual vigilance, warning against deception, worldliness, and spiritual complacency. As stated in Revelation 16:15, "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."
While no one knows the exact time of His return (Matthew 24:36), Jesus made it clear that believers must be spiritually prepared and alert to the signs of the times.

You've hit the nail on the head. Just be ready all the time. And that can be the easy part or the hard part! It isnt about doctrine or dates. It's about relationship with Jesus. Hanging out with Him and praying to Him so much that you start hearing Him.

Moses went up Mt Sinai and was with God 40 days and then came back down, but he was glowing and so wore a veil so he didnt scare everybody. So being in God's presence leaves a residue on you! This residue is the Holy Spirit and may make you glow! It is the same oil as the 10 virgins had in that parable.

It aint about how much scripture you know and it's not knowing a lot about Jesus. It's, I know Jesus Himself.

What do you mean, I never knew you? What if I became the kid who never shuts up?! I accidently taught myself how to hear the still small voice of God because I realized my morning prayers were maybe a minute long then I went to work, and I didn't like that. So I started inviting Jesus to go to work with me. I worked at a HVAC company at that time and worked on all sorts of residential furnaces & A/C and the commercial roof top units also. I talked to Him all day, driving around house to house or company. The company I worked for just happened to get lots of Church work.

So Jesus was my lead tech and I assumed the role of helper, and Jesus was also the Customer! Once you cam hear the Lords still small voice, you can even talk to Him in my head somehow nonverbally.

People need to stop preparing for external events and prepare internally with the Lord.

I was an HVAC tech also, Thanks I agree and the same happened to me also. I even did maintenance in Apartments Also. I have learned much in trust, no matter what too, thank you

Have a read of Luke 21.

Luke expands on what Matthew compressed.

Next you will be talking about the imminent return of Jesus.

He did return as risen and was seen as risen by over 500 hundred witnesses 1 Cor 15
That is the report to stand in, for me anyways, John 19:30. Hebrews 9:14-17 I believe Son is risen for me and everyone else to decide to believe this or not as well. Each to get personal, with Father and Son for them. The only true choice left to make personally between God and the self thanks. 1 John 2:1-27, I love verse 27. No more need to be taught by others. Now share in the same love, mercy and truth given us through risen Son, thank you Father.

Why do some interesting groups of Christians care? If you are dead, you are dead. If you do not get the dates right, do you go to hell? If you are pre-trib, God hates you?

God sincerely loves us all. Otherwise Jesus would not have ever gone willingly to that cross and die physically to save us each in his resurrection, that Father reveals to us all. 1 John 2:1-27. Father, sees who is serious too, And then reveals as each needs, to see as each go through troubles as well, thank you. I re-read Job and see so much truth in going through Troubles and not denying God at all. Best to stand in trust to God even through any and all adversities, as we each decide to do or not. Flesh itself gives up and wants the best now. Not seeing Eternity without any more pain or tears is the eternal reward, which is better than here and now, thank you Father
A short while here, compared t eternity with you, I take you in your love and mercy for all given us all by Son first, woe wow is me to think, anymore. I trust you Father, that same as Son did first all the way to death first. Then risen where the new life in Your Spirit and Truth resides, thank you

There's two camps mostly. Pre-Trib, Post-Trib. If the pre-trib is wrong then they were merely watching early in their excitement. If the post tribbers are wrong then they might have to go through the GT for missing the rapture.

All the scriptures are there! (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10, Romans 5:9, Revelation 3:10, )

Isaiah 26:20-21
20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

21 For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.../KJV

Isaiah is talking about the rapture of His Bride. We will be in heaven and not even witness God's wrath to earth.

Jesus sets apart His bride and takes her out of the GT. He doesnt say hey babe first you can get the crap beat out of you and then we'll go to dinner. No. The Bride is the spotless one, so there's no reason to put her through the Great Tribulation. That is for the unbelievers, not the Bride!

Such tribulation that the world has never seen before...nope, not her.

Why would they miss a pre-trib rapture if they don't believe in it?
