Acts 4:12 declares that salvation is found in no one else and in no other name under heaven. God has given only one saving name — the name of Jesus Christ. There is no second option, no alternate path, no ritual substitute & no competing authority.

THE SUPREME NAME: Higher Than Angels, Higher Than All Creation, Confessed by Every Knee

Matt 28:18 Jesus said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

Phil 2:9 God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name above every name.

Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, power, might, dominion & every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Phil 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Heb 1:4 He has inherited a name more excellent than the angels.

Col 2:9-10 All the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him bodily; He is the head of all principality and power.

Heb 1:4 He has inherited a name more excellent than the angels.

JESUS NAME IS THE AGENT OF SALVATION
Jn 1:12 those who receive Him and believe in His name become children of God.
Jn 3:18 Whoever believes in His name is not condemned.
Jn 20:31 Life is found in His name.

FORGIVENESS IS THROUGH HIS NAME
Acts 10:43 everyone who believes in His name receives forgiveness of sins.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

SALVATION IS ACCESSED BY CALLING ON HIS NAME
Acts 2:21 whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Rom 10:13 everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Acts 22:16 calling on His name is the cleansing agent.

THE SPIRIT IS GIVEN IN HIS NAME
Jn 14:26 the Father sends the Spirit in My name.
(NOTE: The Spirit is salvations eternal seal.)

ETERNAL LIFE IS GRANTED FOR THE SAKE OF HIS NAME
1 Jn 2:12 Sins are forgiven for His name's sake.
1 Jn Believers in His name have eternal life.

ACCEPTANCE BEFORE GOD IS IN HIS NAME
Acts 4:12 salvation is in no other name under heaven.
Acts 5:41 They rejoice to suffer for the name

THE THEOLOGICAL CONCLUSION
The New Testament repeatedly attributes salvation, forgiveness, justification, sanctification, the gift of the Holy Spirit & eternal life to the NAME of Jesus.
not to water, not to rituals, not to tongues.

The NAME is the saving agent. The Spirit is the applying agent. Water never appears as the cause of salvation in any of the posts passages.

Rituals don't take away sin, water doesn't take away sin, speaking in tongues doesn't take away sin, good works don't take away sin.

Heb 9:22 Blood is the working agent that takes away sin

Jn 1:29 (B) Behold the Lamb of God, """""which taketh away the sin of the world."""""

Only Faith placed in the finished sacrificial sin atoning work of God's Lamb/Jesus Christ takes away sin.

Attention ritual promoters:
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

(NOTE: Calling on the NAME is the operative saving agent. The water is a commanded act of obedience, a public confession, an outward identification with His death & resurrection. It marks the beginning of discipleship, not the means of salvation.)

Jesus NAME is 1st cause the only Way, the Truth & He alone hold the keys to eternal life. Amen

John 3:5
Jesus answered: Amen, amen I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Pilgrimshope, you didn't address the argument.

I affirm every passage you quoted. None of them contradict anything I wrote. The issue is not whether baptism is commanded. The issue is what Scripture identifies as the saving agent.

The New Testament explicitly attributes:
salvation, forgiveness, cleansing, justification, eternal life, acceptance before God, to the calling on/placing faith in the NAME of Jesus, not to water.

Acts 4:12 — salvation is in no other name.
Jn 1:12, believing in His name makes us children of God.
John 3:18, believing in His name removes condemnation.
Acts 10:43, forgiveness is through His name.
Romans 10:13, calling on His name saves.
Acts 22:16, calling on His name is the cleansing agent.
1 John 2:12, sins forgiven for His name’s sake.
1 John 5:13, eternal life through believing in His name.

You didn't answer a single one of these. Water is commanded, yes. Water is an act of obedience & identification with His death & resurrection, yes. But Scripture never says water is the cause of salvation.

The NAME saves. The BLOOD removes sin. The HOLY SPIRIT seals. Water is the outward confession of the inward faith. If you want to continue, please address the actual question:

Where does the New Testament ever say that WATER — not the NAME, not the BLOOD, not the HOLY SPIRIT — is the saving agent?

Threads I've placed that address baptism more directly:

This is my point:
The NAME is the saving agent, the BLOOD is the sin‑removing agent, the HOLT SPIRIT is the sealing agent & water is a obedience response.

Jn 20:21–23, is about:
Apostolic authority to announce forgiveness, the proclamation of the gospel, the Spirit's empowerment.

It's NOT about:
Water saving, baptism regenerating, rituals removing sin, or Jesus NAME being replaced by a ceremony.

Jn 20:21–23, which has nothing to do with:
The cause of salvation, the role of the NAME, the role of the BLOOD, or the role of water.

The question remains:
Where does the New Testament ever say that WATER > not Jesus NAME, not the BLOOD, not the HOLY SPIRIT - is the saving agent?

1 Peter 3:19-21

1 Peter 3:19–21 actually destroys baptism‑saves theology if you just read Peter's own explanation.

Peter explicitly says:
"not the removal of dirt from the body" > meaning not the water, not the physical act. "But the appeal (calling) to God for a good conscience" > meaning the inward faith response, not the ritual > "through the resurrection of Jesus Christ" > meaning the saving power is Christ's work, not the water.

Peter himself separates:
The symbol (water), from the saving reality (faith in Christ’s resurrection),

Just like Noah:
The water didn't save Noah - it killed the world! Noah was saved from the water, through the ark. The ark is the type of Christ, not baptismal water. Peter's point is typology, not sacramental regeneration.

So the question remains:
Where does the New Testament ever say that water > not the NAME, not the BLOOD, not the SPIRIT > is the saving agent?

John 3, """Jesus is not introducing H2O baptism. Jesus is distinguishing TWO BIRTHS!"""

Jn 3:
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
(MY NOTE: Nicodemus, a Pharisee, a ruler of the Jews & a trained expert in the Law. Approaches Jesus privately, acknowledging His divine authority.)

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
(MY NOTE: "Born again" refers to a spiritual birth, not physical water or ritual baptism. Jesus is introducing a category Nicodemus has no understanding of.)

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
(MY NOTE: Nicodemus a teacher of Israel, has no concept of spiritual rebirth. He's thinking strictly in PHYSICAL terms.)

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
(MY NOTE: Verse 6 defines the contrast "Water" corresponds to FLESHLY/PHYSICIAL birth & "SPIRIT" corresponds to SPIRITUAL BIRTH.)

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(MY NOTE - Here is the key: FLESH = PHYSICIAL BIRTH (the natural birth that beginning in the womb, surrounded by amniotic fluid/WATER).

SPIRIT = SPIRITUAL BIRTH (the new birth only Jesus can give through His Holy Spirit baptism (Matt 3:11; Luke 3:16; Mark 1:8; John 1:33).

Jesus is explaining that PHYSICIAL BIRTH alone is not enough. One must be born physically & then born SPIRITUALLY.

I showed you. Peter said water. HE DIDN'T say NAME, didn't say BLOOD, didn't say SPIRIT, he said WATER. You were shown and still refuse to accept it.

You're claiming Peter said "water saves," but Peter explicitly said the opposite.

Peter literally says:
"""NOT the removal of dirt from the body""" > that is the water > Peter says """the water does NOT save""", but """the appeal to God""" for a good conscience" > that is the inward faith response > Peter says this is what corresponds to salvation > """THROUGH the resurrection of Jesus Christ""". < That is the saving power > not the water, not the ritual.

Peter gives a NOT this / BUT this contrast:
NOT the physical water, BUT the inward appeal, THROUGH the resurrection. You're claiming the "NOT' is the saving agent. Peter says the "NOT" is "NOT" the saving agent.

The Noah Typology Also Refutes You
Peter's own analogy: The water killed the world! Noah was """saved from the water""". The ark is the saving figure (Christ). Water = judgment > Ark = salvation. Peter isn't teaching water‑saves. He is teaching Christ‑saves.

You said, "Peter said water." NO! Peter said: NOT the water, BUT the appeal, THROUGH the resurrection.

You said, "He didn't say NAME, didn't say BLOOD, didn't say SPIRIT."
But the New Testament does:
The NAME saves, Acts 4:12; Rom 10:13; Acts 22:16
The BLOOD removes sin, Heb 9:22; Jn 1:29
The HOLY SPIRIT seals salvation, Eph 1:13; Jn 14:26. You haven't answered a single one of these.

The Question Still Stands. Where does the New Testament ever say that WATER, not the NAME, not the BLOOD, not the HOLY SPIRIT > is the saving agent?

Jehovah means physical salvation and physical blessings.

Jesus means spiritual salvation and spiritual blessings.

Jesus is the name above all names not only in this world but in the world to come.

Jesus is above the name Jehovah but includes it.

Jesus is the only name under heaven given for salvation.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not names but titles and the name is singular which is Jesus.

The Bible says everything we do in word and deed do all in the name of Jesus.

So why would we baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Isa 52:5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.
Isa 52:6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

God said He would reveal a new name to the Jews and speak to them.

Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Jesus said the words He speaks are the Father's words.

The Father and Son will share the same name.

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Act 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
Act 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

“The issue is not whether baptism is commanded. The issue is what Scripture identifies as the saving agent. “

yes that’s why I quoted several regerding mg his name and how it’s all done in his name

that was my only point just affirming your op about his name being that name. Your referring to

The name of Jesus the point was t to argue baptism but to show the pre eminence and authority of his name in all the church does such as baptism or communion or even when they healed

Like this

“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:6, 13, 16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

so it wasn’t to change the subject to baptism at all I just selected baptism because it’s well known doctrine oeople inow about getting baptized . The point was his name like above there was just an affirmation coming from what you wrote regarding how doctrine is accomplished in his name as well ( for example baptism for remission of sins in Jesus name)

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That was my only point

“him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:40, 42-44‬ ‭

his name is important because it’s identifying him our Lord and savior tbrough whom we live and breath and move and exist now

“that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:10-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What we have here, is a misinterpretation of what they said about getting baptized. A common misunderstanding that is going around. Kind of like the scripture, when God said not to make any graven image of anything. They misunderstood the part when he said, '...and bow down to it.' This caused the destruction of lots of artwork, and medical documents throughout the world. Like wise, the preaching that you must put your head under water to be saved, has made masses of people turn away from God. Think about it for a minute, why would this be a requirement to be forgiven?

"Please help me to understand lord." .... "I still don't get it."
