Oh I have no isse with doctrine and scribes but they have to be the right kind the way you speak to others shows me that if I am to follow any doctrine it is not what you offer. Now Just a follower that is someone I can get behind they lead by example and show love regardless of what is said against them whatever teachings they have sought that is what I want so I can in turn be more like that.

You seem to think I have an issue with knowledge and scholars but no this is not so it is the kind of scribes and scholars that I have issue with seeing you shows me that that I should not follow or listen to any doctrine you or anyone who agrees with you give or offer.

But hey you do you
"if I am to follow any doctrine it is not what you offer"

You must understand @Blain , that I CHOOSE to HEAR these wise men, scholars and scribes, some of whom I have commended to you.
And I therefore KNOW, without any doubt, that they ARE in fact WORTHY of double honor and respect.

Contrarily, you have chosen to NOT hear them. So you do NOT know the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that they offer.
Nor will you gain the blessing that comes from giving them the honor that God says rightfully deserve.

Tragic really.

I tell you what you post us a favourite sermon you have, just one, for not to long, and let's see your particular flavor of who you have connected with.
I have already posted DOZENS on this thread alone.
Don't be lazy and use the search tool and find them.

I probably wasn't in the mood to listening to you then.

So anyhoo since I've become accustomed to your winging I'm all ears, so come on have some courage let's see your favourite sermon. But I only want a short one as I have 75 people to monitor here.

Well again if these treasures of wisdom you speak of is why you act as you do then it isn't for me, in this thread I have seen slander mocking and attacking from you and your friends here not the love of God not the fruits of the spirit and not the Christ like nature that is required of a mature believer so of course I would not want anything to do with the wisemen and scholars you speak of why would I if it makes me act and think like that which I have seen over and over in this thread?

No I need teachings that will fill me up with love and with his spirit to make me more mature and bask in true wisdom not the wisdom of man or of any person aside from Christ himself. The reason I reject these teachers and teachings is because of how I have seen you act I mean one person even said my brain damage a real disabilit was an excuse the name baby has been thrown around accusing others of being cavinist has been thrown around sarcasm mocking slander it is not a pretty picture.

So you are here to "monitor" people? Ohhhkay. Fortunately, there is Biblical DOCTRINE regarding these types of things.

In 2 Thessalonians 3:11, the Apostle Paul uses a clever play on words. He writes about people who are "not busy at work, but are busybodies."

Working (ergazomai): To be productive and focused on one's own tasks.

Busybody (periergazomai): Literally "working around" or "over-working" in areas that don't belong to you.

Paul argues that those who are idle or refuse to work often fill that void by meddling in the lives of others to feel important or occupied.

See how useful knowing Bible doctrine can be @Blain ?

Ligonier is as hyper- cal and preterist as it gets. To be assiduously avoided.

I dumped them decades ago.

I never argued that it was not useful or important it is just the type of it I am concerned about and I see the reflection of teachings in how people speak and treat each other
If one has the love of Christ in them then it shows they folllow the truth if they do not then their doctrine however detailed and in depth may be is not truth if it were it would change that person.

So yes I see how useful it can be just maybe not in the way you would appreciate

err no RC Sproul teaches about the rapture he believes in the lord is coming back and we will all be lifted up in the air but he doesn't believe in a pre trib. He believes we get lifted up in the air and come straight back down to earth and rule with him. Thats not a preterist.

Ligonier is a just name given to the ministries,

Besides im not interested in the rapture. Means nothing to me. As the golden rule of the rapture is to get right with God which means now to

Having assurance, is not about proving how you believe the rapture will unfold.

That would be proving your assurance for yourself, which is a fake assurance.

I've got his RC sprouls sermon on the rapture if you want it.

Still waiting for your sermon on free will from a professor tho.

You say your well educated so, you should be intelligent to know you should have one, so where is it

really I don't think your assumptions can be taken seriously since you made known your foxhole conversion theory belief known, which is known in our faith as the person who looks for loop holes in his word on his last breath.
1 Cor 2:2
For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

Isa 53
5 But He was pierced for our offenses,

He was crushed for our wrongdoings;

The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him,

And by His wounds we are healed.

6All of us, like sheep, have gone astray,

Each of us has turned to his own way;

But the LORD has caused the wrongdoing of us all

To fall on Him.

Acts 16:31
They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

[1Ti 4:13, 16 KJV]
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. ...
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Well there you go. Sproul himself defines his religion as "Augustinian theology, Reformed theology".
So its "Reformed" is it?
Question: Reformed from what to what?
Christ-centric to Augustine-centric. Simple.

And yes, he trots out the standard trope that there is free will (really there is!).....but not really.
Not enough to get off your duff and paint Blood on your doorframe that's what he is saying.

You probably need to listen to a sermon of his on apologetics 🙂

I will call your 4min 22 second video and raise you 34 hours.
This 34 hours is merely background material.
But it might be enough of a shock to fry out those Reformed-infected neurons that need fixing.

ok so still no sermon on freewill by a professor.

You know there should be one right ?
Those are "lectures", not 4 minute "sermonettes". And there are 34 of them that I posted, each one hour in length, delving DEEPLY into the topic of free will.

It appears that you have an attitude that is...."unserious" as regards legit study. Such folly has its consequences.
