See that is the thing several on here are puffed up with knowledge but they have no inkling as to what love is they can read and understand greek and hebrew they have all kinds of knowledge on things not all being correct of course but love? No one who is filled with love would act and speak in the manner seen in this thread and I admit that some have gotten under my skin and I maybe responded in anger but I have also admitted when I was in the wrong and if any scholar minded person thinks that is going to make them mature then they don't understand what maturity is either
Scourge the wise men and scribes at your peril!

Mat 23:34 - Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

It’s sad that some believe that attending a Bible college produces spiritual maturity in Christ. Knowledge doesn’t produce maturity. Experience produces maturity. Just as in other areas of life. Attending college and getting an engineering degree doesn’t make you a good engineer. On the job experience makes you a good engineer. No different from becoming a mature Christian. Acting upon what He commands and understanding His love produces maturity. My grandmother is the most godly woman I’ve ever met. I’ve honestly never seen her angry at another. Love is all she knows. Yet she never graduated high school and never attended a Bible college.
Those are wonderful thoughts.

But one must never applaud willful Biblical illiteracy.

[Luk 7:32, 35 NKJV]
32 "They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying: 'We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not weep.' ...
35 "But wisdom is justified by all her children."

Yeah I am not taking the bait on that one if they think their wise and scribes then maybe they need to humble themselves a bit, A wise man would not speak for themselves as being wise wisdom is seen and known by others

Awe stop feeling sorry for yourself and teach the bondage of the the will the the good old protestant way. And then you could say away with you skeptical Catholics.

we should go easy on him, he has a habit of changing into moses shouting follow me 🤐

A wise man would know "how exactly". Instantaneously.
Yeah I am sure you see yourself as wise but wisdom speaks for itself and you have a issue with sticking your nose up at others that doesn't seem very wise to me so if you think that a wise person would have knwon intantly then my argument is that a wise man could answer the question and answer it instantly

I will applaud a deaf, blind, or illiterate person who follows Christ over a Bible scholar that doesn’t follow Christ any day. Biblical literacy doesn’t impress me. The Bible can’t save you. Only God can do that. He is the One we are to teach and learn about. When one is wrong or has questions we are to teach and help while using the fruits of love, peace, and patience that the Spirit provides. However many use pride, sarcasm, and sometimes pure hatred to teach. There are many atheists that are very biblically literate also. I don’t applaud them either but I still love them.

Well that is to bad because I follow Jesus not anyone else and honestly if I were to follw him I feel like he would lead me down a long trail that would only hinder me in the end. He clearly sees himself as wise and perhaps even a teacher of sorts but we don't need more teachers we need more students

Very well stated I could not have said it better myself, there is a verse that says this 1 Corinthians 8:1 Now regarding your question about food that has been offered to idols. Yes, we know that “we all have knowledge” about this issue. But while knowledge makes us feel important, it is love that strengthens the church.

You poor, poor guy! Let me pet your feelers so you can feel better about YOURSELF.;)

The amount of bible doctrine being rejected is off the charts....And simple logic.

And how exactly have I falsified it?
You haven't done anything wrong that I can see.

The order of salvation from God is this, Gods for-knowledge is first in line those who he knows by knowing that person in advance will accept his word the gospel etc because he knows, but also he does have a way for those who don't at first, his word goes out to everyone,

Then comes the predestination based of his for-knowledge, he predestines people to the son, but all are predestined to hear him. This is all known before you receive your calling

Then comes his calling all are called. People whos eyes and heart are opened receive the Gospel and go to the lord, people who hear the word and ignore it, don't, but his calling doesn't give up that quickly on those who don't

Then comes justification ie you start to love his son,

Then glorification.

Willful biblical illiteracy. As in intentional. The kind that comes from the heart.
Oooops.

BTW.......opinions are a dime a dozen. But sound biblical doctrine is worth it's weight in gold.

Do you think God is more worried about how many hours we read our bibles or how we are loving one another?

Biblical doctrine is completely worthless if it’s not based on God who is Love. Love also being His two greatest commandments to us.

That seems right to me and a friend and I were talking about this and he says God is the initiator and that initiation is the calling or drawing to him this is what brings us to him and into his flock should we ecieve him

So basically he makes the first move then of course there has be a change inside that person and that change only happens when one is actually ready to recieve it usually at peoples low points he is a very caring father and goes straight for the low and meek in spirit

just a heads up but it's also how people that know what there talking about and whom are associated with Calvin's teachings teach 🙂.

The other stuff you hear is false
