Grace? You want grace?
Your distorted way of thinking incites righteous indignation.

And, you know it.

Then! You point to the reaction you wanted to get for a display for you to also attack.

You use trickery and win over those who are vulnerable, when one who knows what you are up to, faces you down.

Smiley faced evil fools some. Not all.

You only cite the number.

You never post the actual passage for us to see?

You're an illusionist.
Creating an image of knowing something.

But? When presented and shown for what it says?

You are just a TIME WASTER.

I feel sorry for you.
You are doing just what Satan did to Jesus in his temptation.

Citing Scripture. But evil.
Push the blue reference and the verse comes up.

Matthew 27:53
Why this cannot be the rapture

Pre-tribulation rapture theology holds that the rapture has very specific features:

  1. It includes the Church (the Body of Christ)
  2. It involves translation of living believers (1 Thess 4:17)
  3. It is global and visible to believers
  4. It precedes the Tribulation
  5. It results in permanent glorified bodies

Matthew 27:53 fits none of these criteria:

  • Only “many” saints, not all
  • Only deceased saints, no living believers
  • Localized to Jerusalem
  • Occurs at Christ’s resurrection, not before tribulation
  • No statement they received glorified, incorruptible bodies

So pre-trib interpreters unanimously reject this as “the rapture.”

The dominant pre-millennial / pre-trib explanation
1. A resurrection of Old Testament saints

These are understood to be:

  • Believers from the Old Covenant era
  • Raised because Christ’s atoning work was now complete
  • Vindicated publicly in Jerusalem

They are not the Church, since the Church had only just begun (Acts 2).

2. A sign-resurrection, not a programmatic one

This event is interpreted as:

  • A miraculous sign, tied uniquely to Christ’s death and resurrection
  • Demonstrating His victory over death (Heb 2:14)
  • Authenticating Jesus as Messiah to Jerusalem

Think of it as eschatological symbolism breaking into history, not a stage in the end-times timetable.

3. Temporary resurrection (most common pre-trib view)

Many dispensational theologians (e.g., Walvoord, Ryrie) hold that:

  • These saints were raised back to mortal life, like Lazarus
  • They later died again
  • Scripture never says they ascended or were glorified

This avoids:

  • Premature glorification before Christ
  • A partial resurrection that disrupts resurrection chronology

Not all pre-trib scholars agree, but this is the most common solution.

Summary (pre-millennial / pre-trib view)

Question Answer Is this the rapture? No
Are these Church saints? No
Are they glorified? Unclear; likely not
Purpose Sign, validation, foretaste
Eschatological function Proof of Christ’s victory over death

Bottom line

In pre-trib premillennial theology, Matthew 27:53 is a unique, one-time resurrection sign:

  • Not the rapture
  • Not the resurrection of the Church
  • Not the general resurrection

It is best understood as a symbolic, localized, anticipatory resurrection — a preview of what Christ’s resurrection guarantees, without collapsing the end-times timeline.

More poor discernment.

@cv5 asked me to give an account for the Passover with specific directions on 4 levels in a response. What was his motivation. The request was ludicrous on its face. How can someone without research and study give an appropriate answer. He did so to change the topic and end discussion. Wonder why your great discernment powers are didn't allow you to perceive this or give him correction.
Again, discussions with you and your ilk are never edifying.

Grace and peace.

Grace is the demonstrations and actions giving reasons for belief and have something we could never achieve.

Jesus said to BELIEVE in Him, which is a Command.

Why would Jesus give a Command if Grace automatically makes one just believe?

More poor discernment.

Because you always end up walking away frustrated and nullified and proven wrong?

I think that we may actually be in the end times. Some of the signs are now here!
1. Growing lawlessness, iniquity, and a decline in love.
Just consider the times that you live in!

2. Increased conflicts, nation rising against nation, and a general time of trouble.
Consider what has taken place with Russia/Ukraine!

3. Deceivers who lead people astray.
FWers are everywhere you look!

So no research and no study and no legit answer is your preferred practice? Sure looks like it.

FYI, I take it that it is the trivial, unserious biblically illiterate Churches that Jesus takes issue with in Rev 2&3....

The remarkable work of the Holy Spirit thru regeneration!

So the work of the Holy Spirit is what one needs to believe to be saved now? And here's me thinking it was the death and resurrection of Christ. Silly me, guess the Gospel isn't the power of salvation after all.

And when was the last time that you ask a dead man about God, and he responded in faith?

I can't imagine Cameron losing sleep over your approval! :cautious:
See Rev 2 & 3. It is the nonsensical gnostic self important ignoramus Churches that God does not approve of.

The ones who have a pathetically low biblically illiterate view of Scripture fare poorly.

Only a nonsensical gnostic self important ignoramus could know that for certain!
