You refuse to listen to the President? Fine, as you have done it will be done unto you, no one is going to listen to your idiotic rules.

There is a very strong contrast between Jonathan and Saul in the last chapter. In the last chapter Saul is in a panic because people are leaving, in this chapter Jonathan decides to leave, but not to run away but just to see if God will give them a victory. In the last chapter Saul is looking at the superior numbers and equipment of the Philistines and the lack of armament of the Israelites and he is doubting God’s faithfulness, thinks Samuel has forsaken him, and does not wait on the Lord. In this chapter Jonathan seems oblivious to all that, all he seems to see is God and wonder if God could work a miracle with one sword.

Samuel left so Saul sent for the high priest? Is the priest wearing an ephod hoping to get a word from God? This is very typical, God gives you a word but you don’t like the word you’ve been given so let’s go get another man of God to give us a word hoping that it will be different.

I am reminded of a movie called “Free Solo” about a man who does rock climbing without a rope. It is the most incredibly audacious, terrifying and riveting movie I have ever seen. What a way to live. Someone asked this man saying “I don’t get it, if you make one mistake you die?” He responded, “sounds like you get it just fine”. What a contrast with Saul, stuck under a tree with 600 men, woe is me, the Philistines want to kill me, Samuel hates me, quick let’s ask someone else for a word from God, hopefully it is different.

1Samuel 14:8 Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto these men, and we will discover ourselves unto them. 9 If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them. 10 But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up: for the Lord hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be a sign unto us.

What exactly is this sign? There are two kinds of bullies in the world, just like there are two kinds of dogs, which I have once heard explained this way: one kind barks, the other bites. Jonathan knew they would be bullies, the question was which kind? If they attack they are the ones who bite, if they say “come here so we can kill you” they are simply barking, they are bluffing. That is the kind of bully you punch in the nose. We are seeing this today, lots of threats, lots of bullying, but then dig a little deeper and you see what cowards they are. AOC, the same woman who wanted to make black lists of Trump supporters is cowering in the bathroom half a mile away when she learns there are protestors entering the Capitol building. I get that she doesn’t want to fight a mob, but she is half a mile away, just go out the back door to somewhere safer they will never find you. She wasn’t even in the Capitol building. Maxine Waters so bold to incite violence and attacks on others is falling all over herself trying to explain away what she has said. Chuck Schumer seems to have gone silent about his inciting a mob at the Supreme court.

Hey, I would like to learn a lesson. I think this chapter gives us a great lesson on what it is to follow the Lord. Where is the power of the Left coming from: Bribing people, blackmailing people, and threats. Everyone hates them, they despise them, they know they are liars. Biden speaks at the Superbowl and he is booed. No one believes he is the most popular president in US history. No one would have booed Obama or Reagan. No one wants to die for Pelosi or Schumer. AOC is the boldest one among them and she is cowering in the bathroom.

Let’s understand the math here. The enemy had 3,000 chariots and 6,000 charioteers, but obviously you can’t get a chariot up in an outpost you have to climb up rocks to get to. They also had soldiers without number, but they fill the plain and I guess are just for show. Meanwhile these twenty are spread out in an area half an acre, that is not a big area on flat land, but in rocks where you have a narrow way Jonathan and his armor bearer were probably able to fight against two or at the most three at a time.

Again, we are not fighting alone. God is with us. Jonathan had to have the courage to go take a look. Jonathan had to have the insight to know the difference between dogs who bark and those who bite. But once that happens God is able to use that little spark to light a fire. They are being attacked, that is true, one of the outposts has fallen, that is true, twenty of the Philistines have been killed that is also true. That is enough to spread all kinds of horrifying and scary rumors among an army that knows their leaders are liars and cheats and don’t trust them. Iranians don't trust Khameni, Chinese don't trust Xi, and Americans don't trust Walz. They are all terrified, shaking in their boots.

Seriously, they had brought the ark of God to the battlefield again? This is superstition. What we need from God is one word. God had already spoken it, this is a paper tiger, one match and they will all go up in flames. Saul rejected that word but Jonathan embraced it. People who don’t have faith become superstitious, needing idols. Our victory is not by power or might. We don’t have more soldiers or more chariots. Our victory is also not by vain idols, they are useless. Our victory is by the Lord’s Spirit. That is what we have. His word. Believe it, receive it, obey it.

There are a lot of people who have nothing to do with the left. They might have voted for Democrats, they might support liberal policies, but that doesn’t mean they support fraud in Minnesota, or releasing felons into the community. Be friendly, be open, communicate, don’t take the insults personally. Open your eyes and we can completely rout this plague among us.

43 Then Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Jonathan told him, and said, I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in mine hand, and, lo, I must die. 44 And Saul answered, God do so and more also: for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan. 45 And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as the Lord liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

Just when you think Saul being a fool and an idiot was a one time thing he goes and does this. Do not be mistaken, Saul is trying to pin this idiocy on God. “You have sinned, you must die!” He didn’t sin, he ate some honey. He was not aware of this ridiculous rule that Saul made and that rule is not in the Bible. Saul is not God and this is the point of the story. God wants to make sure everyone knows it. You gave this rule, your son violated it, and you know what, so what. No one is going to listen to your idiotic rules. So glad we don’t do things like that. I mean sure, our government once claimed that the 75 million people who supported the Republican presidential candidate must now be deprogrammed. Sure, some suggestions have been to use predator drones against Trump supporters because we use them against terrorists in Afghanistan. They have decided to ban Dr. Seuss and they are claiming that babies that are three months old are racist. And sure, there are now Governors and Attorney generals and Sheriffs saying they will not listen to the idiotic rules coming out of the Whitehouse. OK, I get it, we still have fools and idiots even today.

Stop playing defense, it is time to go on offense

Acts 9:26 When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.

Psalm89:19 Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: “I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people. 20 I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him. 21 My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him. 22 The enemy will not get the better of him; the wicked will not oppress him. 23 I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.

We need the fellowship of the Body, this battle is a corporate warfare. Notice how Paul is "fearless" even though there are conspiracies to try and kill him. He knows them, they are not some shadowy mysterious all powerful group. He knows their weakness. He knows that what truly scares them is if he can prove Jesus is the Messiah. They have a house of cards and that one fact causes it to all fall down. This message puts them on their heels. This is what we are seeing right now in Iran. When Trump removed Venezuela from the equation it triggered the collapse of Iran. This has Russia and China on their heels.

28 So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 He talked and debated with the Hellenistic Jews, but they tried to kill him.

Psalm 29:1 Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

What do you think Saul said? He ascribed glory and strength to the Lord. And what do the Jews do? They try to kill him again. What kind of religion is this where every time you get exposed you try and kill that person? This was what cancel culture was like at the beginning of this age. This is the ultimate censorship. Here is someone who knew the Bible better than they did, they couldn't debate, they refused to repent, so let's kill him and that will shut him up. This age started with the Jews trying to stamp out the Christians and it will end with Islam, Catholicism and Judaism uniting to stamp out Evangelical Christians.

2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. 3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.

This is the point of speaking in tongues. The voice of the Lord is going out throughout the entire earth. Before we built roads we had the waters as our highway. Today the internet is our highway.

4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic.

This speaking is what is changing the age. Today many are complaining of injustice. I don’t want to say that is a joke, but the crucifixion of Jesus where He was arrested in the evening, tried that same night, sentenced to death, and then executed first thing in the morning is the kind of injustice we had at the beginning of this age.

5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

These rulers and leaders appeared to be so strong, and they have all been broken into pieces. Maduro, broken in pieces, Khameni, broken in pieces, Walz, broken in pieces.

6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox. 7 The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning.

Saul also shared his personal experience of the voice of the Lord being like a flash of lightning. We are told to pray for kings and all who are in authority, what we need are a few more Saul's to be struck with a flash of lightning and come to repentance.

8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.

No doubt those who heard like Barnabas shared how this speaking was shaking the world.

9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare.

They also shared how these rulers are being stripped bare as those they send to persecute the church are being converted. And in his temple all cry, “Glory!” One of the great adventures in prayer is hearing of answered prayer. The response is always “Glory!” I have wondered for years why it took so many years after Jesus was crucified for Titus to come and destroy the temple. But here we can see why, the Lord was preaching the gospel to the Jews and converting them, they were gifts to the body because they knew the Bible.

30 When the believers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus. 31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

Psalm 29:10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. 11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

This is how we enjoy peace and are strengthened. We don’t run from the battle, we turn to the Lord, pray, trust the Lord and obey the Lord like Ananias did. Ananias was like a cornerback intercepting the ball and causing a turnover. Then the church goes from playing defense to playing offense as Paul goes on the offensive proving that Jesus is the Messiah.

The Father of Faith was obedient to follow God's command

Acts 7:1 Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

The charge is that Jesus Christ will destroy the customs of Moses. 14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

2 And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

Stephen is the only one that refers to Charran in the Bible. Some say it is a reference to mountaineering? Others that it refers to "parched land" and still others that it is a reference to Harran.

In Genesis 11 we learn about Harran: 31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

Lot was an orphan, his father had died, so he is going with his uncle (Abram), his aunt (Sarai) and his grandfather (Terah). This is the first place they lived after leaving Mesopotamia.

This word is significant, every time you find a word that is unique to a book in the Bible it is a window into the unique agenda of that book. During the tribulation the people of God flee to the mountains and since it will be during a famine and war and pestilence, it can be described as a "parched" land. However, this is simply the first stop, halfway from Babylon where they were to the good land where they are headed.

32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

I think this verse clearly connects Charran to Haran, so we should not assume that Stephen simply had a strange reference to this place but rather his use of Charran (and Luke's) is significant.

3 And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.

Do you understand what Stephen is saying? The God of glory appeared to Abraham before he went to Harran, just as the God of glory appeared to the Jews before they went to their current location in Judaism. But then God appears a second time and says "get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred", that is what the Lord was telling the Jews at this point. In order to follow Jesus they would have to get out of their country and from their kindred. Yes, God has already appeared to them with Moses, but this is now the second time that the God of glory has appeared to them with Jesus.

4 Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

Abraham, the father of faith was obedient. He left the land of the Chaldeans for Charran when God told him, and he left Charran for the good land when God told him.

Egypt --> Romans --> Antichrist

Acts 7:5 And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.

The Jews had been waiting for the Messiah. Stephen is likening them without the Messiah to Abraham without a child.

6 And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.

Right now the Jews were under the thumb of the Romans, Stephen is likening the bondage and being treated evil by the Romans to the Israelites being in bondage and treated evil by the Egyptians. In the same way during the tribulation the believers will be in bondage and treated evil by the Antichrist kingdom.

7 And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.

Ever since the fall human history has been the struggle for man to try and make it apart from God. It has always been a failure. You can describe it as the prodigal son spending his inheritance and ultimately falling into bondage and being treated evilly by pig farmers.

Two choices

Acts 7:8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.

Before they were brought into bondages in Egypt they were given a covenant. The covenant did not protect them from being sold as slaves. Why not?

9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

Because as you have done it will be done unto you. They sold Joseph. Yes, we have a covenant with God, but we must be sanctified, transformed, before we can inherit the promises. Throughout human history we have been given a choice, you can take the path that God recommends, or you can take the path that you think is right. The majority have always chosen the path they think is right and this is where it has always led them, into bondage and being treated evilly. During the tribulation those who are left behind will realize they were left behind because they chose the path that they thought was right.

10 And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

Think about this, Joseph was sold as a slave and yet became governor. The rest of Israel's family came into Egypt as free men but became slaves. The path that God lays out for us leads us out of slavery whereas the path that people choose for themselves leads them into slavery.

11 Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.

This is also the standard outcome. Every empire has devoured its inheritance and turned a productive land into a desert. This is a sure outcome. The people in charge are greedy and they are foolish. Because they are in charge they are arrogant thinking they got to their position because they are better than others and pride goes before a fall. We see this in Venezuela, a very wealthy land run by arrogant fools. We see this in Iran, again arrogant fools running this great civilization into destruction. We see this in China. We see this in Minnesota and California and NY.

12 But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.

Stephen is likening the 12 apostles to the "fathers".

13 And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph's kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.

He is likening Jesus being raised from the dead to the second time, the time when Jesus is made known to all of Israel, and according to this pattern those who are left behind after the rapture will see that as the second time. The first resurrection was Jesus, the second was the rapture.

14 Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.

Joseph plus his father plus his kindred = 77 souls. Add his wife and two children and you have 80 souls. 8 is a new beginning, and 10 is completion.

15 So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,

Jacob is Israel. Stephen is pointing out that the Jews have descended into Egypt, into the world. No longer are they the family of faith, but rather they are in bondage, being treated evilly and behaving as the worldly people are. This is a picture of the Apostasy.

16 And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.

This is a reference to those that have died in Christ.

That which has been is that which shall be

Acts 7:17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, 18 Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.

Here we have a reference to Antiochus Epiphanes, he arose, a king who did not know God, and was a sign that the time of promise drew nigh. Likewise the Antichrist will rise during the tribulation as a sign that the time of promise has drawn nigh.

19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

Yes, we saw the legalization of abortion, we saw many things done in the US to encourage broken families, poverty and the destruction of the family unit.

20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months: 21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

This is a reference to Jesus, a prophet like unto Moses who had to flee to Egypt and be raised there because of the decree of the king to find and kill Him. Likewise during the church age it has been the same with the believers, many who would be fired if they mention Jesus as work.

22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

The result is that we are not ignorant of Satan's devices. Yes, there is a persecution of Christians, but that teaches us concerning the wisdom of this world.

23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

Again, a comparison with Jesus who was the proper age for a priest to serve when He came forth. Forty refers to a period of trial and testing. Likewise, during the church age we have many men of faith who came forward after a period of trial and testing in their own lives.

24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian: 25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.

Here we see believers who want to serve the Lord but are soaked in the worldly wisdom. We do not war according to the flesh and Moses had not yet learned this lesson.

26 And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another? 27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us? 28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

This is where Moses learned the folly of warring according to the flesh. As you have done it will be done unto you. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Also he learned that although he desired to free the Israelites from bondage, no one had made him a ruler and judge over them. He needed to serve the Lord, obey the Lord and let the Lord carry out this deliverance.

29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.

We need to see the world from both sides, as both a son who desires to change the world and a father who has more experience and wisdom than the son.

30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.

This is a second period of trial and testing. As Stephen is talking to the Jews their history also has two sections, you have the period where they had Solomon's temple and then you had the period where they had Herod's temple. Stephen is telling them that deliverance comes after these two periods. They all understood. The first temple had stood for 400 years before its destruction and while Stephen was talking to them the second temple was approaching its 400th birthday.

The God of Resurrection

Acts 7:31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,

Moses is 80 years old, he has come to the end of his life. The bush that is burning without being consumed is a sign to Moses. It depicts that we are dead in Christ, but the hope of glory lives within us and can burn bright.

32 Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.

This confirms that God is the God of resurrection and is telling Moses that he will walk in the resurrection life. Stephen is now talking about Jesus Christ as the wondrous sight who rose from the dead and his disciples as those who are also walking in resurrection. This is also relevant to the tribulation because for those left behind they need to hear that their life is not over, they can also walk in the resurrection life because their God is the God of resurrection.

33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

What a vision! You are in the tribulation, the world is in flames, famine, pestilence, false prophets, deceitfulness, great delusions and war. Humble yourself, because this is "holy ground"?! Yes, God has answered your prayers, God is going to bring in the kingdom and to do that He is going to bind the strong man. You have nothing, humble yourself, you are not some great general who will do this, Jesus will do this. You are offering yourself up to serve the Lord.

34 I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.

God is going to send an old man who is barefoot to Egypt! That is worse than homeless. That is the ultimate bottom of the barrel. Paul said he was "less than the least", this is what God will use to defeat Pharaoh. So stop saying "you are nothing". That is what God used with Moses and that is what God used with Paul.

35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

Have people mocked and ridiculed you? Good, that is how they treated Moses and all the prophets before you.

36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

This is now the third period of 40 years. If we talk about jubilees, a fifty year period, then it is 40 jubilees from Adam to Abraham, 40 jubilees from Abraham to Jesus, and 40 jubilees from Jesus to the end of the age.

37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

They asked Stephen about Jesus of Nazareth. He has shown step by step how everything in the Old Testament has led to Jesus of Nazareth and how everything was a shadow of what the Lord is going to do and how they are at the starting point for this third set of two thousand years or "two days" or forty jubilees. So instead of destroying the things delivered to them by Moses Jesus is fulfilling them, as promised by God.

38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

Church in the wilderness refers to the gathering of the called out ones in the wilderness. Again, during the tribulation the believers who are left behind will be the gathering of the called out ones in the wilderness.

39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,

The reason you are left behind is because your fathers in the apostasy would not obey.

40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

Their primary fault was idolatry. Churches celebrate Halloween? Christmas with all of its idolatry (Santa, elves and Christmas trees) and Easter. These are pagan holidays. Currently they say that what they are doing is "OK", but if you are left behind it will be a lot easier to see how those things were not "OK", they were idol worship.

41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

Many argue that celebrating Christmas is good for the economy. It is a "sacrifice" to a calf, to the economy. In an agricultural economy the engine of the plow is the cow, the source of milk and cheese is the cow, and the source of meat is the cow. The calf signifies their economy.

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost

Acts 7:42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

This is now the end of the forty years, God is talking to them right before they are to go into the good land. They are saying "we are the people of God who worship the one true God" and in return God asks "really? Have you really been worshipping me when you celebrate Christmas and Easter?"

43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

Those were Babylonian celebrations. You told yourself that the unbelievers were celebrating Christmas and that you could use that for the gospel. In reality they were using that to make you worship their gods in Babylon.

44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

We were told specifically, precisely, how to worship the Lord. This is not part of our instructions, there is no Santa Claus in the Bible, no Easter bunny. Those are celebrations by liars of lies. We worship the true God in truth.

45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; 46 Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

We have had to fight to have true worship of God.

47 But Solomon built him an house.

We have had to pay the price to have true worship of God.

48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, 49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? 50 Hath not my hand made all these things?

All those things, the tabernacle and the temple are a shadow, a picture of God dwelling in man. There is no Christmas tree in the temple of God, no Easter bunny. Get these things out of your hearts.

51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

Now apply this to Paul, apply this to your own life

Acts 7:52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: 53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.

Luke is considered to be the one who is giving us the Apostle Paul's view. He was a close associate of Paul, he was mentored by Paul. We know that Paul was here when Stephen was killed, we don't know if Luke was. So consider this, Paul heard everything that Stephen said. He probably was able to follow and understand all that Stephen was saying. No doubt he rejected it since he was consenting unto Stephen's death, but later after he got saved he very likely reconsidered all of what Stephen said. This was his experience as much as anyone's. He was persecuted, he was ultimately slain, he looked on his behavior and saw that he had become a betrayer and a murderer and he even admitted that he had not kept the law.

54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

Weeping and gnashing of teeth. Jesus said that those who are cast into outer darkness will have weeping and gnashing of teeth. During that time your sins will be in your face and they will tell you that the reason you were left behind is because of these unrepented of sins.

55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. 57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

So this is a picture of someone preaching the gospel during the tribulation and being martyred. If I am left behind this is the way I want to die.

58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Reel that fish in

Acts 8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

This is an important lesson to learn. If you are right with the Lord Satan cannot simply stone you to death. Jesus stood up when He saw Stephen being stoned and there is going to be a consequence for this. Satan kills Stephen, so the Lord takes Saul and replaces Stephen with Saul. This is how we should pray. Lord, they have killed Charlie Kirk, so Lord we pray that as they have done it would be done unto them. Let someone crucial in the kingdom of the Prince of darkness be saved and may he become a very big blessing to the church to replace the impact that Charlie had.

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

The memorial for Charlie Kirk was a great lamentation. There were 100,000 in that stadium in Arizona and many more who were in the overflow room.

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

Is there anyone making havock of the church? Anyone making havock of your ministry? Pray for them. When someone makes a big splash like this I view them as a big fish that is on the line. The Lord has them hooked and they are fighting it with all their might. Reel that fish in.

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

Exactly, view everything that happens as being of the Lord. Why is there this persecution that is scattering the believers? Because the Lord wants us scattered, He wants us going everywhere preaching the word.

Next man up

Acts 8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

Stephen was the first of the seven men chosen to care for the widows, Philip was the second. We know this is not Philip the apostle because we are told the Apostles remained in Jerusalem. This is just like an army, you have a man leading carrying the banner, if he falls the next man picks up the banner and takes his place. This must be our attitude, we must be relentless.

6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

The people see Charlie Kirk killed, then they see Candace Owens pick up the banner and continue, relentlessly to pursue the truth. They know she is risking her life to do this and so it really catches their attention. They listen, they give heed. Now Satan is confused. TPUSA used to have 5 million subscribers to their podcast. Now they get 5k or 10k views. The only thing that anyone will watch are reruns of Charlie which can get as many as 100k views. While Candace is getting 2.5 to 4.5 million views. Candace was the one who picked up the banner, not anyone from TPUSA and as a result the army is now giving heed to her, not to them.

7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

Unclean spirits like those in Hollywood, in the movies, in people like Nikki Minaj, and palsy, a heart disease that suffocates you because you have allowed bitterness to grow in your heart. Then to be lame is to walk with a limp, or a cane, or in a wheelchair. I saw a woman who was talking at a City council meeting. She then closed with a prayer. The mayor tried to stop her saying "we don't do prayers" but she simply ignored her, continued her prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. If you are listening to the mayor rather than God, that is lame.

8 And there was great joy in that city.

We love to hear these testimonies and see people who are no longer lame, no longer suffocating from their root of bitterness, and no longer speaking filth and hate.

9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

I have also seen the testimonies of those involved in witchcraft and sorcery who have gotten saved. This one man who was associated with one of famous witchcraft families in the US (apparently the movie "Dark Shadows" is about his family, though obviously a fictionalized account). He was saved with the verse that God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. These people involved in witchcraft and sorcery are held in fear. Think of people who made a living on bewitching people with sorceries. Think of the cigarette companies who manipulate their cigarettes like a drug to make them more addictive. They are living in fear that people will learn.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

Some people will come to faith by seeing miracles. Do not base your faith on seeing a miracle, if you do you are opening yourself up for scam artists like carnival barkers and snake oil salesmen.

Is Baptism part of salvation?

Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. 18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. 20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. 22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. 24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

This is a fascinating paragraph and it destroys the doctrine of "Once Saved Always Saved" where they teach that baptism is not part of salvation and to say so is to teach a works based salvation. We are not saved by works, that is true. But just like a fruit tree bears fruit, if you are truly saved you will bear the fruit of the Spirit, which are works of faith and labor of love. To receive the word of God, is what they equate with salvation. That would be Jesus coming into your heart as a result of His sacrifice on calvary to forgive you of your sins. But if that is true, if the Lord has truly come into your heart and you have confessed of your sins, then surely you will repent of those sins. What are those sins? Well at the most fundamental level sin is ignoring the command of God and doing what is right in your own eyes. The Bible says "believe and be baptized". Simple command, you don't have to understand it, simply obey it. However, in this case we learn that they have believed, they have been baptized and yet the Holy Spirit has not fallen on them. Why not? First Jesus Christ enters your heart, once you have confessed and repented of your sins (believed and been baptized) you can be clothed with the Holy Spirit like a policeman wearing a uniform is clothed. However, this did not happen yet because the apostles have not yet sanctioned this. When they laid hands on them that was the apostles sanctioning the gospel going to the Samaritans. To be clothed with the Holy Spirit is a sign of authority to the angels and they would not recognize this authority until the apostles laid hands on them. But now this brings us to Simon. There are two things that can separate us from God just like a wire can be broken and prevent the electricity from flowing. One is bitterness and the other is iniquity. If you are nursing bitterness in your heart or you are living in iniquity you will be cut off from the Holy Spirit. The "Once Saved Always Saved" doctrine never teaches this. Peter realized this was the case with Simon because he wanted to purchase the authority of the Holy Spirit with money. We see this with the "OSAS" crowd. These churches are often the best funded, FreeMasons will often be on the board of directors, they will have a large, brand new building, a good sound system, a TV ministry, etc. Consider TPUSA, they receive millions and millions in donations. They think give them more money and they will have more power. Their heart is not right and as a result their power has gone from millions listening to Charlie to thousands listening to those who have taken his place at TPUSA. The power the ministry has is 0.1%. of what it was. Now it could be the gall of bitterness or it could be the bondage of iniquity, but something is not right.

25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans. 26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

This is ironic. One theory is that Charlie Kirk was assassinated because he was not going to publicly support the war in Gaza because he was accusing the Jewish leaders of sin. That was good news to those living in Gaza. Stephen is killed because he accused the Jewish leaders of sins and who picks up the banner to take the gospel to Gaza but Philip. Likewise Charlie is killed and who picks up the banner but Candace who also accuses the Jewish leaders of sin and takes the gospel to Gaza.

27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

Ironic, isn't it.

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

The whole world can see what happened with Charlie and many are trying to figure out what it means.

32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: 33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

Sure sounds like what happened to Charlie.

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

Charlie Kirk was preaching Jesus at the end of his ministry and that played a major role in his being killed. Now Candace is preaching Jesus in her podcast. It is the major reason why she was fired from the Daily Wire.

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

Again, OSAS is seen to be an idiotic doctrine. This man understood from the gospel that it was important for him to make a public confession of his faith. Think of baptism as an engagement ring. You don't get engaged by putting on a ring, but if you are engaged then the ring becomes a sign to all. We live in an evil and adulterous age. I was in college when I got baptized. I had been listening to a man come to my room preaching the gospel for months. One night I walked into my dorm room and there were about ten people or more sitting around. My hair was wet and someone asked what happened? I said I had gotten baptized. I could see immediately the entire atmosphere in the room changed. The person who asked that was a Baptist and yet he asked "why did you do that?" The evil adulterous age doesn't have a problem with someone preaching the gospel, they will mock and ridicule, it is "good fun". But go and get baptized, that they understand.

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

There is only one requirement to being baptized, believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

This is a blog about the rapture and this word "caught away" is the word we identify as referring to the rapture. The apostasy leads people astray concerning salvation. They do this by speaking the truth, but although what they say is "true" it is also incomplete. If you are engaged to the Lord, if you truly are saved, then why aren't you wearing an engagement ring? He said to "believe and be baptized". So why do you teach you don't have to be baptized?

40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
