God has never made, nor ever will make any covenant with anyone by natural birth. His covenants of both old and new, are always by faith towards God and His works, first of circumcision, then by law, and now with grace, never by birth after the flesh:
Gen 17:10
This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
God makes His covenant with man by circumcision, not birth.
Gen 17:12
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
God makes His covenant by circumcision of any flesh, no matter the birth.
Act 7:8
And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
It's the first covenant of circumcision in the flesh, not birth of the flesh.
Gen 17:14
And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
Without faith in the word of circumcision, there is no covenant with God, no matter the flesh born of. Even if born a Hebrew, Israelite, or Jew, birth is nothing, but only the work of faith in the flesh.
To the covenant of circumcision was then added the law:
Exo 19:5
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:...And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.
Lev 12:3
And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
Now, circumcision must be made according to law on the eighth day. And if the law is not kept, then even circumcision is made uncircumcision, and the soul is cut off from the covenant of God.
Rom 2:25
For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
Being the covenant people of God is now twice removed from natural birth alone. So that birth of the flesh is nothing, but keeping covenant by faith is all:
Jhn 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:
Rahab was a covenant woman of God, born of the Canaanites of Jericho, while Achan born of the tribe of Judah, was cut off from the covenant people of God by transgression.
The is not exclusive covenant people of God by natural birth. There are no 'Jewish' nor 'Gentile' covenant people of God, but only covenant people by faith in the works of God and Christ the Lamb:
Hebrews{13:8}
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Gen 17:10
