Forbidding to marry is doctrines of demons

1 Timothy 4:1-3
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

I gave you the scripture passage. Not marrying is voluntary. No one is forced to be a priest. There are married priests in the church by they way.

Yeah dat was me, myself and I. ( snaps suspenders) :) I asked about that. The priests in scripture were married. You folk above all that then?

First I gave you the scripture passage. You don't like it but thats not relevant to me. There are married priest in the church. You should get out more.

10 The disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” 11 But he said to them, “Not everyone can receive this saying, but only those to whom it is given. 12 For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs…

NOT EVERYONE CAN RECEIVE THIS SAYING, so we'll just make it mandatory.

Pope Francis made headlines across the globe when he suggested he was open to the idea of ordaining married men as a way to alleviate priest shortages in remote areas.

Some raised their eyebrows and took note, whereas other Catholics shrugged, pointing out that paths, although they are narrow, already exist for married men to enter priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church.

Experts say as many as 120 Catholic priests in the U.S. are married.

That’s largely because of a policy change made by Pope John Paul II in 1980, which offered a path for married Episcopal priests to continue their ministry after converting to Catholicism.

Seems if they are married, they were already married before converting to C. so, not really as you seem to portray

No one is required to be a priest

The Ukrainian Catholic Church has married priest. Like I said you need to get out more

Not marrying is voluntary.

No, the catholic so called "church" forbids priests from getting married which is doctrines of demons according to the Word of the Lord in 1 Timothy 4:1-3

And is one of your priests decides to quit being a priest, the so called "church" will proclaim them to be dammed to hell as though they aren't all already

Oh? How many of you are there?

Many people accept what God says in His Word unlike yourself.

People voluntarily become priests and take in single life just like Paul who according to you is the devil.

Where did you get that piece of stupidity. Yes it's stupidity and you shouldnt be fooled intomtk thinking it's anything but stupid

The content of some of these threads is below the threshold of limited intelligence. I don't know. Might be the afternoon crowd getting home from kindergarten....;)

What they deny: Eat my flesh drink my blood. He established HIS church on the rock of Peter. The apostles are authorized to forgive sins.

What they believe thats not in the Bible: sola file, sola scriptura.

So your catholic???

That explains why you would not tell me if you was baptized in JESUS name.

And would not tell me if JESUS has filled you with the Holy Ghost.

I can see why you have problems with Portestants since they follow HIS word and you follow the pope.

So glad I shared HIS word on how to be reborn if JESUS ever sheds HIS light on you HE loves us all the same.

If you do think Peter is the rock why don't catholics follow him in Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

What I am or am not is irrelevant I can read with comprehension and I'm still waiting for one of you to show evidence your understanding not scripture is authoritative. Because you think so doesn't cut it.

The Lord is the One Who says forbidding to marry is a doctrine of demons

You obviously don't know the Lord so it's a moot point.

I'm not fooled about the fact that catholic teaching is definitely stupid because it's not biblical.

Too bad what the Lord teaches in His Word isn't good enough for the catholics.

Again, the command to be water baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of sin is a NT command. It is not part of the OT law. John the Baptist introduced the baptism of repentance for the remission of sin. At that time water baptism had no direct connection with Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. The water baptism command was later changed to include the name of Jesus. Those who believed in Jesus and His sacrifice were baptized in His name in order to receive remission of their sin.

The issue Paul was explaining in Galatians concerned the OT requirement of circumcision. The account reveals Jews were telling believers who had already obeyed the NT commands that they had to submit to the OT circumcision as well.

Also, it is commonly understood that Paul wrote to the Galatians prior to his stay in Ephesus. This is revealing since Paul preached the need to be water baptized in the name of Jesus, and assisted the men of Ephesus in receiving the Holy Ghost/Spirit as well.

I read it differently to you.

I view John the Baptist as the last prophet from the older covenant era.

The old covenant era was the law and prophets (including John).

John preceded the messiah therefore John was not a new covenant participant.

John's baptism was a baptism of repentance and that's all it was.

John was sent to straighten the path of the Lord.

Water baptism is an external ritual.

John was preparing Israel for the arrival of the messiah and the baptism of the Holy Spirit
and fire.

That is the spiritual baptism and an internal statement by Jesus of your citizenship in heaven.

The traditional church went astray very early.

The Catholic Church rose out of the traditional church.

The Orthodox church split from the Catholic Church (the great schism, 11the century).

The Reformers began around the start of the sixteenth century.

The Reformers carried baggage from the traditional church.

The Protestants followed the Reformers and adopted their theology.

John the Baptist arrived to make the path straight for the Lord.

Ever since John the path has been a crooked path.

God help us all.

They get dunked in the name of Mary right?

The Pope recently announced that Mary no longer plays a role in our salvation.

That only took close to 2,000 years to get right.

If anyone is waiting for the Catholic Church to play the game according to the rules,
you will be waiting an even longer time.
