Rufus... they know better.

For example. RB Thieme, was too busy for something like here.
He studied about eight hours a day, and taught six nights a week to a large congregation.
He taught from not word studies like you and others do, but from the actual Hebrew and Greek texts.

It is nothing like anything you have ever been exposed to.

Almost twenty years of daily lessons are made available for free for those who ask.
No money? No problem.
They will send anyone truly desiring to learn in depth Bible teaching - free of charge.

Pastors have used his lessons for their own personal study.

If any of your "wise, studious, learned" pastors came over here, I guarantee you they would be exposed to something they never would have expected.

When anyone compulsively clings to the false to make themselves feel secure, it means they could not deal with the demonic pressures that came against someone who was supposed to be breaking through the wall of the cosmic resistance. They become draft dodgers of God's army.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
Over time, they in effect transform into the very same pressure they could not resist, and turn it against the maturing believer. With the kind of pressure that they refused to handle when it was coming against them.

They refused to go through the required by God, suffering, needed to overcome the pressure. And, in effect, became the pressure in an attempt to escape it. Like we see with the insane group of Queers for Palestine.

Mean, or not.... It is the Truth.

 how dare you expose my evil!!!!!

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. Eph 5:11

So be it.

We are in a war that God has sovereignly drafted us into. (Chosen!)

........
The FLOT . Forward line of troops.

There is only one way to resist. There is only one way to overcome. There is only one way to "break through."

The Mind Of Christ. Growing in His Grace and Knowledge. Adversity is inevitable, stress is optional.

Eph 6:13 “Therefore, pick up and put on the full armor from God, that you may be able to stand your ground in the evil day, even after you have done everything to hold your ground.”

Oh yes there is.

Jews in Isaiah's day who degenerated and had become self righteous, were notorious for it!

Isaiah 64:6

For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like filthy rags;
And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
.

Learn to read what I said in its context. I also said God's elect are justified on the basis of Christ's good works -- not their own "self-righteous good works". The vast majority of sinners are righteous in their own sight.

@cv5 And I spent years in the reformed/calvie/tulip theory. You follow the talking points, phraseology and texts to a tee.

You regurgitate everything that I was taught when I was caught up in the mess of "Sovereign hope church."

Nothing new under the sun.

That is correct, v17 says "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth". Again read further (v20) to see where Jesus prays "I do not pray for these alone (the chosen 12), but also for those who will believe in Me (that's us) through their word". Jesus is not contradicting Himself. The rest of your post, I do not read in my Bible.

And who is being sanctified by the truth!?

The second flock of sheep in Jn 17 is Abraham's Gentile descendants who are scattered throughout the world. This is the "world" in v.21 who would believe that Jesus is the Sent One.

The Gr. term "kosmos" has several different meanings to it (at least 9 or so), especially spiritual ones.

This is especially true of FWT apostates who make it their life-long ambition to pervert the Gospel.

For those who may be interested in putting together material for a Bible Study, the men at my church have used a copy of [Harmony of the Westminster Confession and Catechisms] by Morton H. Smith – which can be found in PDF format by doing a search. We had it printed and ring bound as a handout for the class.
There are of course many good books on the same subject, but this seems to be a better way of keeping everyone on the same page.
This material walks you through the WCF, and the larger and shorter catechisms as well as providing scripture references to review and discuss.
As we go through the various topics we discuss the meaning in a round-house environment, and believe it or not, when we do finish – we are all ready to do it again!
We meet twice a month and it takes us a year or two to finish, but it is well worthwhile!

Go listen to his teaching... no money asked for.
You're only proving how ignorant you are.

You won't listen to him because he would explode that bubble you keep yourself sucking your thumb in.

The Calvinists are furiously and vainly attempting to mend the vail around here day in and day out.
Good luck with that.

Mat 27:51
and lo, the vail of the sanctuary was rent in two from top unto bottom, and the earth did quake, and the rocks were rent,

Luk 23:45
and the sun was darkened, and the vail of the sanctuary was rent in the midst,

Downloading and actually listening to these lectures will have the following effects:
-deprogramming and debugging those afflicted with the Calvinist mind virus
-replacing the dead space with sound biblical doctrine of the finest quality

At my age I cannot waste time hearing every hack and rube who thinks he is a Bible expert.
Fortunately, Thieme is neither a hack nor a rube, and is in fact actually a Bible expert.

Rufus has pulled this exact same stunt dozens of times now. As if the rest of the chapter doesn't exist.

He has an agenda......

Yeah, seems like it. I have read this whole stinking thread, and it seems he is the leader here and I see who his followers are by them giving likes, agrees, or winners to everything he says. He appears to be very knowledgeable of The Bible, but in my opinion his interpretations are wrong. I don't argue the Bible with anyone. I'm just an old sinner saved by Grace(sounds like a good song I've head). Anyway, I have come by the Way of the Cross, not by election.

we went over these verses back in August ...

John 17:18-23

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

He prayed that those who believe in Him would be one ... the Father in the Son ... the Son in the Father ... the believers one in us (the Father and the Son) ... that the world may know that Thou hast sent me.

.

Very, very good. I love reading your posts, especially to refute those of the Reformed/Calvinist mess. Keep up the good work.(y)

Why should I go listen to Thieme when a huge fan, protege and student of him like yourself cannot give a straightforward, honest answer to the simple Exodus question I asked yesterday, albeit to CV5; but as a mind-numbed robot that you are you didn't want to tackle the question either? You are a horrible representative of that man, so why would I waste my valuable time? But in your pride, which seems to have no limits, you continue to shamelessly project your wholesale, willful IGNORANCE unto others.

Context counts. The "world" in v.23 is the second flock of GENTILE sheep who are scattered all throughout the earth. God loves all of Abraham's descendants who are in a covenant of love relationship with Him.

At one point Billy Graham asked Robert Thieme to mentor him.
That was apparently before the recorded lessons were being distributed for all who asked.

Because, I do not even know what you Exodus question was.

You think I am going to back track and wade through all your messages?
You should have presented the question, instead saying you had a question,

yes context counts ... from Post 8,713 submitted back in August ...

He prayed that those who believe in Him would be one ... the Father in the Son ... the Son in the Father ... the believers one in us ... that the world may know that Thou hast sent me .
knowing does not equal believing ... it's only in believing that one is saved.

An unbeliever reading this thread ... would he or she know that the believers who post in this thread are one in us ??? ... would the unbelieving reader know that Thou [God] hast sent Me [the Lord Jesus Christ] ??? ... I don't think so ... not the way some treat their fellow brothers and sisters ... feeding the flesh, but is a poor witness on those who engage in such behavior ...

not much has changed concerning the way brothers and sisters in Christ treat fellow brothers and sisters in Christ ... just sayin'
