Now, you cant post in this thread if you DO NOT like Christmas;). You have to love the idea of celebrating Christmas before even thinking of posting here. I do not want any negative posts to ruin my Christmas party. I do accept gifts:cool: (jk).

So, why do You love Christmas?
I love Christmas first off because it is the birth of our Saviour - Jesus. As a little girl I always loved the Christmas Music playing in the background at stores - the Christmas Specials on TV - the driving around town looking at all the Christmas lights outside - the beautiful decorated Christmas Trees - the delicate fragile Christmas ornaments - the bright colored wrapping paper - the excitement of getting Christmas Cards in the mail !! And Christmas Eve when Mom would read us the Christmas Story of Jesus Birth - the waking on Christmas morning to find Santa had eaten the cookie and drank the milk !!! Oh what a festive time Christmas is. And then on to the BIG Christmas meal when Grandpa and Grandma would arrive and all our aunts, uncles and cousins !!! What a feast of food !!! And to add everyone gathering around the piano to sing Christmas Carols before settling down in the comfy chairs to let all the food settle !!! Christmas is my favorite time of year !!!

Howdy Vickie and welcome to the forum.

I like very much the time right after the Christmas dinner is eaten, it is getting dark outside and we are listening to "O helga natt" (O Holy Night) sung by Jussi Björling. Everything is so peaceful at that moment, and the words of the song speaks directly to my heart.

And of course I also love to have a break from the job. Here in Finland it is so dark at this time of the year, so it gives a well needed break.

Is it like northern Norway? I had to endure arctic warfare training in a military camp up there.

I’m located pretty far south in Finland, so our winters are shorter than in northern Norway. Northern Norway usually gets more snow and more cold days, but when it’s at its coldest here during winter, it’s somewhat similar.
