When someone shared the gospel with me, I looked up the verses and read the chapters to see what God meant by them.
One of them was, "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works lest any man should boast."
That's when the Lord made it clear to me that His gift of Everlasting Life aka salvation was paid in full. I couldn't add any of my works to help pay for my sins or salvation. That fact was that I was helpless and Jesus Christ did it all by Himself.
Then I decided to make the decision to agree with God and quit putting any trust in myself.
Jesus saved me completely when I believed Him and His all sufficient sacrifice.
I read your favorite verse and am reminded of that. Do you have a testimony for this Christmas holiday?
