that not true it is GOD who does so. "And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen." Mark16:20

Jesus Himself said : John 10:37-38 37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; 38 but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”

No one is twisting the word of GOD you just don't know it.
You're proving my point, the signs and wonders were and are for unbelievers. People believed not only because of what He said but also because He did the works of the Father. Some unbelievers needed them then, and still need them today, conformation of the Word we preach, through signs and wonders. Again I say, if Jesus and the early believers needed the Word to be confirmed with signs and wonders, what better does the church have today? If I would minister to someone who is an unbeliever and has a sickness and I'm preaching or teaching them that Jesus heals today ( He is the same yesterday, today and forever ), and I lay hands on them while praying fervently and effectually, and Jesus heals them, the odds of them believing what I'm preaching grow exponentially.

Your immature nature and emotional state are on full display.

I suggest you stop and collect your thoughts. You have no Biblical answer to why modern day "miracles" do not match that of the 1st Century.

Your defense is emotional and not biblical.
I have provided many. You're just a hater and that's all they do is hate :).

The operation of the Church is the operation of the Church.

How it operated back then is how it will operate now.

Why would it change.

Why would it be essential back then but not now.

Did people change from back then.

If it is a benefit, if it is a witness back then we would need it.

It is not like there were changes made when going from the Old Testament to the New Testament by getting rid of the physical laws and physical ordinances of Israel.

The New Testament is the last covenant and not another so there are no changes made and nothing taken away.

So what was going on back then is what is going on now.

1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

These things are needed now.

But when we get to heaven they will no longer be needed for the part, those things shall be done away because when we are in heaven the perfect has come.

But charity goes on forever for it does not fail.

1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

That is why charity is greater than faith and hope for faith and hope are only needed on earth and are not needed in heaven for now you see it.

But charity goes on forever.

And so it is with these things and spiritual gifts for they are needed on earth but in heaven they are not needed anymore.

It could be that many do not see spiritual gifts in action, and not too many healings.

So they think they must not be for today.

But at the last days many will deny the Spirit leading them loving sin more than God.

So what is going to happen there.

And many hypocrites loving sin and money not caring for the poor like they should.

So what is going to happen there.

The majority of people claiming Christianity are not led of the Spirit.

The real blasphemy is your comparing Jesus casting out demons to the stories, sleight of hand and parlor tricks of your ilk. They are not the same, apples to oranges.

Jesus warned those who attributed His casting out demons which He did by the Spirit of God to Beelzebub of committing the unpardonable sin of blaspheming (vilifying, speaking against) the Holy Spirit.

God does all types of great works. If, with this broad net you cast, you speak ill of those who cast out demons, you might speak things that are displeasing to God.

The scriptures teach that the Spirit gives gifts, such as the working of miracles, to members of the body of Christ. There is no scripture that teaches that this has been rescinded.

@Lamar

What evidence do you have that the proper doctrine on spiritual gifts has changed from what is written in the scriptures, or that God does not deal with the church in regard to spiritual gifts in the ways scripture teaches that God deals with the church?

There’s not one. Jesus is the way (Jn. 14:6; cf. Acts 4:10-12). Your turn.
There is only one way, by the Holy Spirit, as we're speaking of spiritual gifts, in I Cor: 12:11 " But all these (gifts) worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally AS HE WILLS." It's up to the Holy Spirit which way He endues us with power. There are three different experiences that BELIEVERS CAN have with the Holy Spirit. John 14:17 " Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but you know Him; for He (1) dwells WITH YOU, and (2)SHALL BE IN YOU." Acts 1:8 " But you shall receive power , after that the Holy Spirit ( Ghost ) (3) COMES UPON YOU: and you shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth." Since the first disciples never made it to the " uttermost parts of the earth " then the " promise of the Father " is still in operation until then.

The Heading for the introduction of Hebrews 2 is Salvation Confirmed
1We must pay closer attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every transgression and disobedience received its just punishment, 3how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?

This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4and was affirmed by God through signs, wonders, various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.

My dad had received a prognosis of colon cancer that the government was so convinced of that they commenced to distribute compensate for his life insurance to him. However, I was compelled to cast it out of him and declare him healed in Jesus Name and, after his subsequent follow-up exam, his distribution was discontinued. And, whether he believed before then is irrelevant now that he does.

I agree there is only one way. And I believe in those verses obviously, as I am a follower of Jesus. We simply have a matter of disagreement on some of their applications and understanding.

There is no evidence of any exhaustive list of spiritual gifts in scripture.
Paulie, stick to the subject. The subject is, or was, the power gifts listed in I Corinthians 12, one of which is the gifts of healing . You claim there are no healings by God through man today, so that list should suffice. Let's not go down any rabbit holes, please.

Surely, God speaking through dreams is a means by which He imparts prophecy, words of wisdom and words of knowledge.
I agree God, who is Spirit, does give us dreams and visions but the subject was spiritual gifts as listed in scripture and are those gifts listed in I Corinthians 12-14 are in operation today.

That is NOT my claim. I see God healing trough men and women today.

great rebuttal to this:

"Really which ones ? You seem to know again Modern day liberal theologians who rely on Humanistic theology prefer their own understanding over the word of GOD. You say he provided Three passages ? Those three diminished John 1:33 John 14:25-26
Luke 24:20-22 Acts 1:8 1cor chapter 12 through 14.

You have a false narrative. " Where is your Biblical defense that modern day claims of the supernatural are the same as the 1st Century?"

The same GOD, The same Lord , and the Same Holy Spirit. God is recorded in the Old Testament of doing healing and Recorded by Eye witnesses in the New Testament doing them. The buffoonery of the comment of modern day claims is laughable.

Where is your Biblical proof of modern day salvation that happen just like they did over two thousands years ago?

how will you provide proof that 3000 salvation happen in one day same as the 1st Century?

your carnal mindset is ridicules. Only salvation happen today ? God doesn't answer prayer of healing anymore in the way he did 2000 years ago?

Where doe it say in the word of GOD that now that we have hospitals and doctors GOD doesn't heal anymore and we should not ask for GOD to heal us?

Modernism and Post Modernism FYI are man take without GOD. Its more atheistic and humanism than Biblical. You would be happier if people would flock to you and your benevolent Wisdom and knowledge. LOL. Nope. "

So then, you agree that there are THREE SEPERATE experiences a Christian can ( should ) have with the Holy Spirit? With, in and upon?

I believe the Spirit dwells in the body of the saved—the church/Christians, according to Paul. I also agree the church is to be filled with the Spirit (also according to Paul). I also believe the Spirit convicts (according to Jesus, in the book of John), and is part of one’s conversion. I also believe the Spirit washes, justifies, and sanctifies, says Paul. I believe the Spirit seals us and renews us. I’m sure there are other things I can say, but that’s my belief. Have a good day.
