Jesus told the 40,000 kinds of “Christian” churches, doing all those wonderful works, “I never knew you”. which of the 40,000?

Which one or ones of the 40,000 “kinds” is it, Christ never knew? And Why?

Matthew 7

21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord,

have we not prophesied in thy name?

and in thy name have cast out devils?

and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them,

I never knew you: depart from me, ye that workiniquity”. iniquity is lawlessness!

Luke 6

46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Is it just a few of the 40,000 or is it the majority?

Christ says it's "The MANY", the many that are lawless, working iniquity!

Could the church you attend be included in "The Many?

It would appear this should be a very important question for Christians today.

This is a question concerning --- your eternal life, are you included in the Many?

What say you -------

God was addressing individuals and not the churches. Of course, there will undoubtably be those who are affiliated with various churches and denominations that God will disavow.

My comment:

God's Ecclesia is made up of "individuals", not corporations or buildings, but the "individual's" have divided themselves in to 40,000 kinds of what is today, broadly called, "Christianity".

Question, how can 40,000 kinds be following the Father's will, they agree on not much?

Question; how would one determine which, if any, of the 40,000 is following God the Father"s will?

It is the MANY! not just some.

The determination, according to Jesus Christ, is which are the Lawless ones?

Define, lawless?

Kinds:

rapture, 50%
non-rapture, 50%
born again
catholic
Mormon
protestant
baptist
on and on

Can't all be correct! and still the question of Lawlessness, iniquity, transgression is in question.

Lawless=disobedience.

Jesus provided an explanation as to why He stated, "I never knew you." The problem is the foolish begin building without having laid the foundation on the rock/Jesus.

The Luke account specifically reveals wise builders lay a foundation upon the rock:
"Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock:" Luke 6:47-48

The Book of Hebrews lists the foundational components that must be laid before going on/building unto perfection. They parallel what Peter said was required for everyone to be birthed into the NT church on the Day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:36-42):

"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again (indicating it need not be laid but once.) the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment" (Heb. 6:1-2).

"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine..." Acts 2:36-42

The same message was then carried to individuals in each group of humanity. indicating the message was not just for the Jews. (Acts 8:12-18. 10:43-48) The last record detailing the same requirements, revealed 12 men believed and obeyed the message, and went on to carry the same message forward. (Acts 19:1-7)

Sadly, many churches have neglected to continue stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine...

Christ will say that to none of the 40,000+ churches. Christ will be saying that to individuals.

I disagree.

Many, if not most of the 40,000 Churches do not keep the 7th day Sabbath, God put a man to death for working on the Sabbath, If this is in the category of "Lawlessness" today, which I believe it is, then every single one in the non-Sabbath keeping churches, Christ has never known. They, as a body or as individuals will not be in the Kingdom unless they repent.

So it matters to each individual which of the 40,000 kinds they belong to.

IF keeping sunday is Lawlessness, and 39,500 of the 40,000 keep sunday, then 39,500 are out.

Humans all want to be part of a group, a group of their kind.

I do not see it's possible for an individual to be known by Christ all the while attending with a church that is teaching lawlessness.

The Hebrew word "yada" refer to intimate relationships/knowledge gained by experience such as with Genesis 4:1 where Ada knew (yada) Eve, she conceived, and gave birth to Cain. God's way is the way to know (yada) Him and Jesus by embodying His likeness through experiencing being a doer of His character traits, which is the narrow way to eternal life (John 17:3). For example, in Genesis 18:19, God knew (yada) Abraham that he would teach his children and those of his household to walk in His way by being doers of righteousness and justice that the Lord might bring to him all that He has promised. In Exodus 33:13, Moses wanted God to be gracious to him by teaching him to walk in His way that he and Israel might know (yada) Him. In Jeremiah 9:3 and 9:6, they did not know (yada) God and refused to know Him because in 9:13, they had foreseen God's law, while in 9:24, those who know God know that He delights in being a doer of steadfast love, justice, and righteousness, and in all of the earth, so the way to know (yada) God is by delighting in being a doer of His character traits.

This is also the same as the way to know the Son, who is the radiance of God's glory and the exact likeness of His character (Hebrews 1:3), which he embodied through his works by setting a sinless example for us to follow of how to walk in obedience to God's law. In 1 John 2:4, those who say that they know Jesus but don't obey his commands are liars, in 1 John 3:4-6, those who continue to be workers of lawlessness and never seen nor known him, and in Matthew 7:23, Jesus said that he would tell those who are workers of lawlessness to depart from him because he never knew them.

So the goal of the law is to graciously teach us how to know God and Jesus by walking in His way, which is the content of His gift of eternal life. The problem with those in Matthew 7:21-23 is that people can go through the motions of obeying God's law while neglecting to be a doer of the character traits of God that it was giving to teach us how to embody and thus neglect to know God and Jesus and still be counted as workers of lawlessness. For example, in Matthew 23:23, Jesus said that tithing was something that they ought to be doing while not. neglecting weightier matters of the law of justice, mercy, and faithfulness.

In John 5:39-40, Jesus said that they searched the Scriptures because they through that in them they might find eternal life, and they testifying about him, yet they do not come to him that they might find life. Eternal life can be found in the Scriptures, so the Pharisees were correct to search for it there, but they needed to recognize that the goal of everything in Scripture is to testify about how to know Jesus and how to enter into an intimate relationship with him for eternal life.

In Roman 9:30-10:4, they had a zeal for God, but it was not based on knowing Him, so they failed to attain righteousness because they misunderstood the goal of the law by pursuing it as through righteousness were earned as the result of their works instead of pursuing it as through righteousness were by faith in Christ, for knowing Christ is the goal of the law for righteousness for everyone who has faith. In Philippians 3:8, Paul had been in a similar situation where he had been In Philippians 3:8, Paul had been in a similar situation where he had been obeying the law while not being focused on knowing Christ, so he had been missing the whole goal of the law and counted that as rubbish.

The idea that people will be condemned for not observing the sabbath on a particular day is in opposition to what scripture reveals:
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." (Col. 2:16-17)

Note that just prior to Paul's above statement, he revealed what is important and that is baptism. (Col. 2:9-15) Sins of the flesh are destroyed upon obedience to God's command of water baptism in the name of Jesus. (Acts 2:38, 22:19, Col. 2:11-14)

"For in him (JESUS) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11 In whom (JESUS) also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it." Col. 2:11-15

Those verses leave room for two scenarios:

1.) The Colossians were not celebrating God's feasts, they were being judged by Jews because they were not celebrating them, and Paul was encouraging them not to let anyone judge them for not celebrating them.

2.) The Colossians were celebrating God's feasts, they were being judged by pagans because they were celebrating them, and Paul was encouraging them not to let anyone judge them for celebrating them.

In Colossians 2:16-23, Paul described the people who were judging the Colossians as promoting human precepts and traditions, self-made religion, asceticism, and severity to the body, which means that they were being judged by pagans and that the second scenario is the case. Those promoting asceticism and severity to the body would be judging people for celebrating feasts, not for refraining from doing that, so Paul was encouraging them not to let anyone prevent them from obeying God. God's feasts are foreshadows that point to Christ and we should live in a way that points to Christ rather than a way that points away from them, so Paul was emphasizing the importance of continuing to celebrate them.

Someone having a circumcised heart only refers to them being a doer of God's law (Deuteronomy 30:6, Romans 2:25-29) while someone having an uncircumcised heart only refers to them not being a doer of God's law (Jeremiah 9:25, Acts 7:51-53). Sin is the transgression of God's law (1 John 3:4), so putting off the body of the sins of the flesh is repenting from not being a doer of the God's law, which includes repenting from not keeping God's feasts.

In Matthew 27:27, the nailed a handwritten ordinance to Christ's cross that announced the charge that was against him that he was the King of the Jews. This fits perfectly with the concept of the handwritten ordinance that announced the charges that were against us being nailed to Christ's cross and with him dying in our place to pay the penalty for our sins, but has nothing to do with nailing any laws to the cross. In Titus 2:14, it doesn't say that Jesus gave himself to free us from the Law of God but in order to free us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people of his own possession who are zealous for doing good works, so the way to believe in what Jesus accomplished through the cross is by becoming zealous for doing good works in obedience to God's law, which includes keeping the Sabbath holy.

I believe that the "Lord Lord" people whom Jesus was addressing were false prophets because He had just finished talking about them; namely that they are ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing (and that they can be known by their fruits).

Also, when Jesus spoke about how only those who do His Father's will shall enter heaven, it's important to keep in mind what John wrote in his Gospel. The will of the Father is to believe on the One whom He has sent (John 6:29).

In short, we can't enter heaven by our works; we enter by Christ's work (cf. Romans 4).

In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus said that only those who do the will of the Father will enter the Kingdom of Heaven in contrast with saying that he would tell those who are workers of lawlessness to depart from him because he never knew them, so there I no need to jump to another book in order to discern that it is the will of the Father for us to be workers of lawfulness. The reason why our entrance into the the Kingdom of Heaven requires us to be workers of lawfulness is not in order to earn it but because that is the way to know Jesus. It is disingenuous to treat John 6:29 as if it implies that it is not the will of the Father for us to be workers of lawfulness, especially considering the fact that the way to believe on the One whom He has sent is by being workers of lawfulness. In Revelation 14:12, those who kept faith in Jesus are the same as those who kept God's commandments.

well, that is the normal way of reading that scripture.

Please remember the Sabbath did not come in to existence with the Covenant,, or with the Commandments, it was the 7th of what God made on the 7th day!

The Sabbath has been since the 7 day. For God to do this, He is setting aside the 7th Day for a very special purpose.

Now read the scripture this way; 'let not man judge you in how you keep the Sabbath , but the body of Christ, which is the Church

the Sabbath and the seven Feasts of God foreshadow His 7 step plan of Salvation. but since the 40,000 keep sunday, easter and xmas they have no clue.

Seven is God's number for "spiritual perfection" and "spiritual completion"

If it is not important then why was the man put to death by Moses?

All 10 of the 10 Commandments carry the penalty of death.

Sorry you have no excuse.

So you have not read James?

Faith with out works is dead.

I will not be going to heaven, My hope is assisting Christ here on earth as HE rule earth with a Rod of Iron.
Revelation states I will be a King ruling earth with Christ.

God's work is here on earth, heaven is complete and perfect, but the earth need a ton of work.

I will make only one comment, hopefully to increase understanding. I do not agree with most of what you wrote.

"Someone having a circumcised heart only refers to them being a doer of God's law"

a better understanding;; God, by the circumcision without hands is cutting away our human nature and in its place building HIS divine Holy righteous Nature.

Thank God no one will be in God's Family that has human nature. after 85 years battling humans full of human nature I have had my fill.

In 1 Corinthians 5:6-8, Paul spoke in regard to how Passover foreshadowed Christ by drawing the connection of him being our Passover lamb, however, instead of concluding that we no longer need to bother observing Passover, he concluded that saying that we should therefore continue to observe it. God's feasts are important foreshadows of what is to come and we should live in a way that testifies about the truth of what is to come by following Christ's example of observing them rather than a way that bears false witness against what is to come, so again Paul was emphasizing the importance not allowing anyone prevent them from continuing to observe God's feasts.

Do you consider the teaching people to follow Christ's example of obedience to what God has commanded to be promoting a false teaching that Paul was trying to counter?

Deuteronomy 10:12-16 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good? 14 Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it. 15 Yet the Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day. 16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn.

The example that Jesus set for us to follow can equivalently be described either as embodying the divine nature or as walking in God's way in obedience to His law.

Do you consider the teaching people to follow Christ's example of obedience to what God has commanded to be promoting a false teaching that Paul was trying to counter?

comment:

Paul is difficult to understand, which I believe Peter attested to. Paul was highly educated in the Torah. and many think he teaches the Torah is not to be obeyed when he is actually saying yes it must be obeyed.

not sure I understand your question as written, If you are asking if Paul was teaching against obedience to the Torah , no

Christ came and obeyed to perfection and said; "Follow Me" and then folks says, we are under grace.. meaning Christ has accepted me "just as I am" -- nothing more to do, I am good just as I am.

The scripture I used to start this line of thought --- states it is the MANY that will not make it into the kingdom,, I will add they will not make it in to the kingdom at this time. Their time for salvation is later.
