I have heard many teaching differing on the answer to this question. Being I am new here I was hoping to get the feel of the board as to how each would answer this, so being I could not find a thread currently on this topic I chose to bring it up so as to get a feel of the boards views.
If there is already a thread dealing with topic please pint me in that direct so I can view or we can start over in this one.

... Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:30-31 (KJV)

You need faith

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Faith (trust) is what one has when he sees truth that can be trusted.

Suggestion: ask the Word of God!, not men.

Acts 2

37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. spirit

but First:

John 6: 43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

being called to follow Jesus Christ in not up to men,, the Father chose those He sends to Christ.

all these folks that say all that is necessary is uttering some words, have no clue of the Word of God.

Further suggestion: Test what men say is the Word of God and believe what seems to be the best/truest interpretation (1Thes. 5:21).

study & learn Romans 10:9- "that if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus & shall believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved". Romans 10:13 is similar. but there's more. 1 must believe in God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit as a born again Christian. study John 3:5- "verily, verily, i say unto thee, except a man be born of the water & of the Spirit, he can NOT ENTER the kingdom of heaven". born again means you are reborn of the way Jesus thinks, speaks & acts. not as the world which is "me 1st", money, sex, materialism, quantity, excess, selfishness, etc. study Romans 12:2- "and be not conformed to this world but be ye TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good & acceptable & perfect will of God".

Wow okay I see there are many views . So we will defiantly have to have the Word of God to answer this question. After all Jesus said we are saved by Gods words so we will have to find what God said. Jesus said he speaks not on his own but only what the Farther has given him to say, and His words are truth, and life so no matter what I think or any other man thinks, it has to be what Jesus has taught for his words is the only truth in which we can find salvation. If we follow the false teachers that we are warned heavily about we will miss the grace that is offered us. We must study the word to show ourselves approved for Gods word is the only truth and it is as he has had it written for us today.

Never mind I see it is still active. I thought it might be an old thread. I am not reading all 65 pages so I guess this is a topic I have to sit out in order not to cause you all to have to rehash all your work you have put into this discuss by asking questions or making statement you have already covered. Thank or directing me to this study already under way I will as time permits try to ketch up and join in if I feel I have anything to add.

Yes, which is why I said "read it from the beginning and post me there when you have comments or questions",
meaning every few posts rather than at the end! Start there; restart here (both-and thoughts are new to some :^)

What teaching are you most comfortable with?

I am seeking Gods true words THE FAITH that once was delivered. I am late to the board so I have a lot of reading to do to get caught op so as to respond accordingly so as not to rehash what has already been covered.

Get the "biblehub" search engine on line, it has many translations, Strong's concurrence..

All translations are translated according to the beliefs of the translators, if they believe heaven is the reward , their translation will lean in that direction.
