“Divorce transfers the hard work from parent to child.
It’s the act of adults trading their own relationship troubles for
their child’s long-term physical and emotional health.

Divorce is categorized as an adverse childhood experience (ACE). ACE’s “are potentially traumatic events that can have negative lasting effects on health and well-being.”

No-fault divorce says, “This cross is too heavy for us. Here kids, you take it instead.”

—Them Before Us

Recently I wrote about the dangers of the fertility rates and a hedonistic society.

The causes are known, and the results destroy families.

The enemy will always want to destroy what God ordained. The strict monogamous marriage of a biological man and woman is not only God's design but also biologically and anatomically compatible.

Adults who waver from this without an extreme reason of betrayal or abuse to satisfy a selfish desire are contributing to the decay of the family.

“Children of divorced parents are 40 percent more likely to divorce than children of married parents. And when we consider children whose parents divorced and then remarried, the likelihood of their own divorce rises to 91 percent” (Wolfinger 2005) https://www.cambridge.org/core/jour...180-1499-pbk/558D0C1FE456EADB59DDCFF6AFF94D4F

Dangers with divorce are statistically in many areas very harmful but even non-traditional familial structures carry their own dangers.

“Data from the U.S. National Health Interview Survey discovered that when compared with children in dual-gender households, children in same-sex-headed families:

Were likely to suffer emotional or behavioral difficulties at a rate of 9.3 percent, more than twice the 4.4 percent rate for children in dual-gender families.

Experienced “definite” or “severe” emotional problems at a rate of 14.9 percent versus 5.5 percent.
Were diagnosed with ADHD at a rate of 15.5 percent versus 7.1 percent.

Struggled with learning disabilities at a rate of 14.1 percent versus 8 percent. Received special education and mental health services at a rate of 17.8 percent versus 10.4 percent.”

Obviously going against what God designed doesn't 100% imply that children will be damaged but it does say they are statistically higher and more prone to having damage.

Even with 2 well meaning and loving parental figures, divorce and non-traditional marriages still takes away or restricts one of the biological parents that a child desires. Often being the father.

Data from the National Center For Fathering and The Fatherless Generation:

85% of youths in prison come from fatherless homes

71% of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes

90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes

Nearly 25 million children live without their biological father

60% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes

Satan sets the course of the world (Eph 2:2). To make the world attractive to us he appeals to and elevates the selfishness of the flesh. Getting people to pursue the flesh is a contributing factor to divorce (even among Christians)

I feel like Americans in general have such a high divorce rate even among Christians because the entire society focus on me me me. Since an early age many American families are thought they are on their own at 18. It blows my mind vs Asian culture and family and unity.

Very true. It is indeed the downfall of many. The false idea that the only thing that matters is your truth and your happiness. A fatal idea that sees everyone else as only objects in your world that are to be used in such a way to gain personal happiness.

It is weird. But I believe the government has set it up that way. They want our kids out so they can be indoctrinated. They want the elderly shoved into elderly homes to limit the wisdom of the past. Then they want both men and women to be at work while the kids are early indoctrinated through public education. Sadly we have the freedom to choose alternative education but not many can afford to stay home or Christian charter/private schools would rather make profits than try to help any family.
