I feel like I have no purpose (Not urgent)

I am unsure where I am in life, if I qm in a middle stage, bad peeiod of my life or what it is but I have fallen into many sins recently butvmostly to fill a void.

The lord used to fill that void but Im still empty so I drink when i get the chance or anything else to make me feel good and to be satisfied with my life. I know that "The Lord is your shepherd you shall not want" and "if you have The Lord you dont need anything else".

At the same time though I used to have goals, im a new believer so my goals were - Stop my worst sins and worst habits so that I could grow closer to The Lord. Well I stopped my worst sin, 45 days clean but I was close to relapsing yesterday and im filling the void with other things because I got closer to The Lord and since then I havent had a goal. Im lost.

It feels like when youre in a game, yoi complete a main missiona nd the game throws you in to a boring 2 hour segment without a mission so youre left to do side quests. Now imagine those quests are fetch quests. Sometimes I think it would be easier to give up but I know what I got myself into, just beacuse im a christian doesnt mean life is gonna be easy. At the sime time the world doesnt love me but im reassured by the verse talking about not caring if the world hates you cus the world hated Jesus first. Also I show some fruits but not some and I am just lose in life. In short im asking for you to pray for me abour these things.
1. Purpose, finding one or realising I have The Lord and nothing else is needed. Just finding what direction to go.
2. That i get closer to god and show more fruits and better, so that I can truly become new in Christ.
3. That whatever The Lord has planned for me that it goes according to his will

Well I stopped my worst sin, 45 days clean but I was close to relapsing yesterday

I hope you have a support group or two... or three.. or seven...

If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are half way through. We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others. That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear. We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows. Self-seeking will slip away. Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change. Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us. We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us. We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves. Are these extravagant promises? We think not. They are being fulfilled among us — sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize if we work for them. The Promises from the Big Book of AA Chapter 6.

It's good that you are being honest. I have been through times like you are going through. It's like a spiritual wilderness. God wants us to see that we have nothing good in ourselves. As one of the greats said, even his tears of repentance needed to be washed in the blood.

It's been said that God delivered His people out of Egypt. The wilderness was God's means to get Egypt out of them.

Paul said that we need to "be being filled with the Holy Spirit". In other words, being filled with the Spirit is not automatic. We can grieve the Holy Spirit by what we fail to do and quench the Holy Spirit be the wrong we do. If we realise that we have sinned, we should immediately confess our sin and ask God to cleanse us. He will do that instantly. Remember too that there is nothing that you can do to cleanse yourself. Only the blood of Christ can do that.

We should then ask for a fresh filling with the Holy Spirit. It's good to do that at the start of the day anyway. If you are not spending time in prayer and studying God's word, you will for sure be empty. God's word is spiritual food. If we no not "feed" on it, we will become spiritually weak.

One of the concepts you have shows a problem that you have. You do not yet know who you are in Christ. You are already new in Christ. God did that for you when you were born again. 2 Corinthians 5:17. If you think your behaviour makes you new, that is a misconception. Remember too that it is the fruit of the Spirit, not your trying, that pleases God.

I have a cat. She really is a cat, stubborn, possessive, demanding and she likes to touch my keyboard. She is a cat because she has the nature of a cat. Nothing I do can change that, even if I was able to train her as if she was a dog. We are Christians because we have the nature of Christ. If we try to reform ourselves or try to be Christlike, we will fail as surely as my attempts to reason with my cat. I get to use CTRL Z a lot when she's on my lap. Like now.

When I was a new Christian, I used to study the Bible a lot. But I would pray at night, just before I went to bed. So I was tired and found it hard to focus. So my prayers were shallow. Eventually I learned that I would end the day as I started it. So I pray at the start of the day and again at the end.

Get to know the great salvation that Jesus paid such a price to purchase for us. Read Ephesians, the first 3 chapters, until you have real joy in the salvation that belongs to you in Christ. You don't work for it. You receive it as a gift. Paul encouraged the Ephesians, before he got into the practical outworking of the new life we have in Christ.

Remember the most important thing: God loves you. And that is in spite of all your problems; all your sins and defeats. God's love is not dependent on our behaviour. Christ died for us while we were sinners. God is love.

God's plan for us unfolds as we walk with Him. Do what you normally do, unless it is illegal or immoral. Go to about your normal life. If a ship is moving, you can steer it. If it is not moving, it is at the mercy of wind and currents. A moving ship can change direction. Otherwise, it is headed for the rocks.

Paul know we will always be fighting the flesh as must have been also.

JESUS in Acts the building of the church tell HIS disciples not to go out without the promise of the father.

So many people claim you get filled the second you believe and as you can see they believed but had to wait and you can see the outcome.

If you were not seeking GOD and more of as you are that would be the problem.

So we ALL HAVE SINNED, but we can repent TODAY as I have to everyday.

Satan knows our weak spots and that's the tool he uses, you battle is with him not GOD so if you haven't received the Holy Ghost seek for it and let JESUS help you.

If you have received the Holy Ghost pray for HIM to help you, repent and stop looking back.

I have not been truly seeking Jesus as I should have but I am still unsure about how bevause I know I should follow the commandments and anything Jesus said but basically Ive only gotten "love everyone and fprgive everyone" but thank you, i will take what you said into consideration. God has a special mission for your life. There is no one else that can fulfil that mission other than you. God and Jesus want you to have a very special relationship with them. They want you to have as close a relationship with them as possible. This is to be closer than all your friends have with God. This will take devotion and dedication.

Instead of watching TV or drinking, spend quality time in Bible reading, Bible study and prayer. And don't neglect the fellowship of the saints.

I know that this applies to you because God will honor anyone who wants a deeply close relationship with Him.

Ask Jesus to lead you to want Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.

Dear Lord God, have mercy on us and hear our prayer for all of us who are lonely. Heavenly Father, we humble ourselves before You. We would like to talk with You face to Face, but we are fallen human beings and it is not granted to us to talk with You and be in communion with You like our ancestors Adam and Eve were before the primordial fall. Having no spouse and no friends we suffer from terrible loneliness, struggling to find clear meaning and purpose of our lives. But we firmly believe that it is Your will for us to live until You decide for us to depart from this earthly life. We obey You and continue to serve You as good as we can. Please lead us to true happiness of knowing You and of being in close, good relationship with You. Instruct us and guide us in doing Your holy will, may we fulfill all Your expectations from us. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, in Jesus' name, amen.
