5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,

The truth is that I killed Jesus by my sins.

Other.
Me too too.
I killed Him by my sin, and now that I know who He is I am sorry.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Well, I am heartened to see that 46% have made the correct choices, our Sins killed Christ and He died willingly. Thank you to the ones that voted. Going to give folks a bit more time to vote before I comment further.

This is the correct answer.

Brother Dino said he was joking. He's always been direct and we've always had good faith conversations. I don't know how a question like "Who Killed Jesus" is "loaded". I gave every possible answer I could think of, then added "other." So it's unfair to say the question is loaded.

The answer is "Jesus died willingly". He did THAT because of His love for us. The consequence of His death for us is that we may be forgiven of our sins.

I think that's why Dino said it was loaded.

It is also loaded because it is not phrased objectively.

it is also loaded because it is not phrased objectively but seeking to elicit a certain response from which to label people.

Eh, sure. I just wrote it off as listing the top several answers people usually give.

Other, that means YOU give YOUR answer. There's nothing wrong with the thread. If you don't like the question tell what question you would have put if like it was your own thread.

I have no problem with the question nor with the choices given.

I suppose one could say that our sins killed Christ.
It would be more accurate to say that He gave up His own life to save us from the penalty of sin. This was because of His love for us.

Yes, a couple things can be true at once. And several voted that way. I appreciate you taking part. We don't always agree but I do respect your responses. I don't know many people that agree 100% on any subject. Guess that's what makes us individuals.

Technically speaking every option is in some way correct. Hence the temptation between A and H. A seems better fitting since it takes personal responsibility into account, but also touches on personal faith as well and the resolution of the resurrection of Jesus. So while there is technically no wrong answer, for the sake of the topic, and it is a good topic and I rather like how the poll was designed too, I'll argue from the position that A is simply more comprehensive but also clearer (as opposed to just voting H and all the above).

John 10:18
No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.

It would be more accurate to say that He gave up His own life to save us from the penalty of sin. This was because of His love for us.

This (C) was also a tempting runner up option after A and H for me. The problem is though while it is true that Jesus laid down his life as a sacrifice, he knew he would be crucified long before the crucifixion happened, that doesn't absolve the world of being guilty of their sins nor of their degrees of complicity in killing Jesus. Magenta made a good point last page, Jesus is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. It's because sin exists in this world and was practiced and fostered that the neccessity of a sacrifice exists in the first place, which brings us back to option A.

I think we are having some issues here in the forum. And I believe it is because of some long held beliefs that are not totally true and some are flat out myths. Before I post what I believe is the truth I would like to take a poll and see where we all stand on this question. I feel like many of the threads we have going in the BDF and other places flow from this one question. I believe it's a serious question to be answered and I'm looking forward to the results of the poll. Thank you for taking part.

For me, I see this
Water and oil can't mix naturally. You can put oil and water in a glass, seal the top, shake it up and the oil and water appears mixed
People, get excited for a short while
Then as the glass of oil and water sits still for a while, the oil and water separate. It does not stay mixed as it appeared when shaken up.

Do we the people see the tricks of flesh nature using flesh nature? To get things here and now?
Do we see, sitting in Moses's seat, and getting others excited. Will that be the only reward those that do this for any self gain?

Authorized (King James) Version

Matt 23:1-3

23 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, 2 saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: 3 all therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Motive, y'all Motive is what God always sees, why are you doing what you do or not do?

Thanks for the post Sister
