Because I have the complete New Testament that I can read and see for myself.
Non sequitor
That’s the question. How come you can’t do that without the word? Because without it you wouldn’t know what you quoted or believe.
Circle back. Got it.

Correct. The Spirit's sword, though essential, is not sufficient. We also need the Holy Spirit to distribute gifts that inspire the particular understanding and service that arising circumstances require. In a specific situation, we can't just pick any Bible verse and do thatand expect it to meet the needs of the time. We need to know which verses and with which manifestation we should act. We need both the word and the Spirit. So, God’s word doesn’t have all the knowledge we need? The Spirit’s sword isn’t sufficient?
The word of God is not sufficient enough so someone can know how to be saved and learn how to abide in the doctrine of Christ? To say the word of God is not sufficient enough is to say the Spirit’s words are not sufficient. Do you really believe that? Or does it take something other than the full revelation that the Spirit revealed?Correct. The unsaved do not operate in the gifts of the Spirit in the New Testament! Read Joel 2:20-29 God is speaking to Israel and says that He will pour of His Spirit on their sons and daughters, old men, young men, servants and hand maidens, all belonging to Israel, not the world. The text says "all mankind".
Again I say, if Jesus and those in the early church needed the gifts of Spirit to confirm the Word to unbelievers what makes you think God would suddenly take them away? Is there less demonic activity now? Are there less sicknesses and diseases now? Are there less people that need salvation now? I would say there are MORE in these days, and you believe that God would send us out less equipped? No, unbelief IN THE CHURCH is the main culprit, having a form of godliness but denying the power, to us-ward, thereof. I, sir, know whereof I speakthat not true it is GOD who does so. "And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen." Mark16:20
Jesus Himself said : John 10:37-38 37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; 38 but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”
No one is twisting the word of GOD you just don't know it.
And you still haven't addressed the questions I posed to you.It has a lot to do with what you posted. You are suggesting I am twisting the scriptures, and you believe the gifts continue today. I’m simply asking if you can please show another verse where it teaches how one receives gifts today from the Spirit in a different way other than what the Bible already teaches?
You cannot show me in scripture where it teaches how one receives gifts today from the Spirit in a different way other than what the Bible already teaches. And you still haven't addressed the questions I posed to you.
LOL first off I never said I think God would suddenly take them away.Again I say, if Jesus and those in the early church needed the gifts of Spirit to confirm the Word to unbelievers what makes you think God would suddenly take them away? The gifts of the Spirit are available to all WHO ARE IN CHRIST. He was talking to those who belong to Christ, not ALL mankind.
Gods Word says that tongues will cease and its absence today is easy for us to see...if we are honest with ourselves.Gods Word says the Holy Spirit will be poured out at the end, and repeats it for us to see, and goes over the many who will receive it..
This passage applies to the modern day Pentecostal Movement.2 Timothy 3:1-5
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
There are people who believe the word of God is not sufficient enough, so they are implying the Spirit didn’t fully reveal all that we need that pertains to life and godliness. This passage applies to the modern day Pentecostal Movement.
It's this movement that has spread evil among the churches.
They are the lovers of self and lovers of money. They are the proud, arrogant and without control. They are lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God and they present themselves as having the physical gifts of God but show no evidence of its power. They are reckless and swollen with conceit. They are brutal and reckless in their conduct during their "worship" to God.
Anyone who studies this movement can see this throughout its sordid history.
They most certainly should be avoided.
pinebeach,
Are those men greater than the views from the Church Father's including the views of Calvin, Wesley, and others claiming that the perfect to come is when we see Jesus face to face and this is when the Gifts cease?
That’s the question. How come you can’t do that without the word? Because without it you wouldn’t know what you quoted or believe.

Correct. Never said He did. You never asked what I believe about the Spirit. The Holy Spirit did not die or retire since the NT was compiled.
Did I say that? No, I did not.Wow. the rest of us have what? the incomplete NT?
