I don't believe that 1 John 1:9 is a lie. Do you believe that 1 John 1:8 and 1 John 1:10 are a lie?

Will you continue to ignore and reject these scriptures do to continually not understanding the new birth claiming you are nothing more than a forgiven sinner who continually lives in sin and can never cease from sin???

Ephesians 4:22-24
put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Romans 13:14
put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Colossians 3:10
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created Him:

They are representing the Lord badly and bringing reproach upon His Name.

Sounds like you don't believe all the lord says. Are you a sinless perfectionist who doesn't under the concept of grace? If we sin we acknowledge it and move on learning how not to sin in the grace and mercy of God.

Isn't it high time to stop being a sinner???

The disciples for three years were Jews who did not have the permanent indwelling Holy Spirit to guide them into all truth.
The needed to start learning many things after Pentecost that they could not understand previously.

Paul was a genius. The disciples were not.
Paul was given many things directly from God that he would be able to learn quickly because he started off having the indwelling Holy Spirit.

The disciples often struggled to understand Jesus' teachings and predictions, such as his foretelling of his death and resurrection, which they found difficult to grasp. This lack of understanding was highlighted in various instances throughout the Gospels, where they failed to comprehend the significance of his words and actions.

It is what it is....
Jesus Himself chose and taught the twelve apostles directly. He said to them in John 15:15 (NKJV):
“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
Jesus revealed all things from the Father to them, not to Paul.

In John 14:26, Jesus promised them, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
This means the Spirit was sent to remind them of what Jesus had already taught — not to replace it with something new through Paul.

After His resurrection, Jesus opened their understanding. Luke 24:45 says, “And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.”
So before Pentecost they were limited, but Jesus Himself corrected that. Their understanding came directly from Him.

In Acts 1:2–3, Jesus “through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen,” and “spoke of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.”
They did not receive their knowledge from Paul — they received it directly from the risen Lord through the Spirit.

At Pentecost, it was the apostles who first received the Holy Spirit, not Paul. Acts 2:4 says, “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
From that day forward, the apostles became the foundation of the Church, as Jesus had said in Matthew 16:18–19, giving Peter “the keys of the kingdom of heaven.”

When the people heard Peter preach after receiving the Spirit, they were “cut to the heart” (Acts 2:37), showing that God Himself was speaking through him. There is no verse saying that Paul’s words had greater authority than those of Peter, John, or James.

In fact, Jesus told His apostles in John 17:8:
“For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them.”
So the full truth was already given to them before Paul ever appeared.

Lastly, Jesus never called Paul “a genius.” Instead, He said of the apostles in John 17:20, “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.”
That means the truth of the Gospel was to come through their word — not through a later man who claimed new revelations.

Isn't it high time to stop being a sinner???

Yeah I get that. It sounds to me like you're the type that stands atop a soapbox pointing the finger at everyone but yourself, without the ability to teach people how to walk in holiness.

OK so now you say you are NOT a sinner?

Tell us plainly, after getting born again are you still a sinner or not? View attachment 282052
You sound like a troll. A very familiar troll In the eyes of God believers are saints whose sins have been washed away by the blood of Christ, which still does not mean that believers will never sin again. (1 John 1:8-10; 2:1) Keep in mind that being an agitator and a false accuser of the brethren is sin.

Yeah I get that. It sounds to me like you're the type that stands atop a soapbox pointing the finger at everyone but yourself, without the ability to teach people how to walk in holiness.

All you have is speculation knowing not the Word of the Lord.

Majoring in sin while brushing off God's Word.

You sound like a troll.

The trolls are the fake Christians going around telling other Christians we are still sinners and we were born sinners, and we cannot ever cease from sin.

This is some of the false teachings that came from the so called reformers who did not reform anything other than to split from the catholics to start their own brand of fake gospel not knowing God's Word anymore than the catholics they split from.

Hey you're the guilty dog barking in this thread not acknowledging the Truth of God's Word's teaching on the new birth! :rolleyes:

Let us know how still being a sinner works out for ya.

That exactly what the gay peoples claim when they argue that being gay is OK with Jesus because He did not specifically address it

So you good with gayness too?

Paul baptized a few folks (noted in 1 Corinthians 1:14-16) showing that Paul was being led of the Lord to be involved in water baptisms

Better luck on the next topic bud.

But you are not speaking out against either as the Lord does in His Word.

Maybe some day you can grow up spiritually and accept all that the Lord says in His Word!

Do you preach we're all sinners and can't stop sinning because God made all people to be sinners when they were born?

That's what the false teachers claim, and so they also claim they will always be sinners because they are of their father the devil.

I go by what God says in His Word which is to CEASE doing sin.

Man can live free from sin as in not knowingly or willingly doing things that are sinful.

Those led by the Holy Spirit do not do sinful things, but they may occasionally make mistakes such as forgetting to do something, dropping something on the floor, etc of which are falling short of God's absolute perfection which are automatically cleansed as we see in 1 John 1:7

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from ALL sin.

What 1 John 1:7 does NOT automatically cleanse us from is when we knowingly or willingly doing things that are sinful or if we do things God says in His Word are sinful and we claim we don't think it's sinful.

So it is quite possible to live sin free before the Lord and experience the Lord treating you as though you are sin free if we are being led by the Holy Spirit based on what God has said in His Word which IS Truth.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me 1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

New Man - Put on Christ

What makes us children of God is IF we answer the Father's call to abide in Christ having turned away from our old life of sin and walk with Him in newness of life

Ephesians 5:1
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

Ephesians 4:22-24
put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

2 Corinthians 6:17
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

This is what baptism is supposed to be about... making a covenant with the Lord, a public declaration of faith, a commitment to put off the old man and put on the new man and to walk in newness of life

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

We are called to cooperate with the Lord, to be co-laborers with Him. He made us in His Image, so we have free will... the Lord desires for us to willingly choose to turn away from our old life of sin and come abide In Christ and not turn away, ever!

1 Corinthians 3:9
We are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

It's God's work, His power, His ability... but WE have to choose to accept His offer to be His children and turn from darkness to walk with Him in the Light.

When people of your caliber come along and poison the wells of discussion, you're just not worth it...

BTW

how easily you forget jesus gave the 11 remaining disciples the great commission that was to preach ALL he did and said during his ministry to the ends of the world! you forgot that certainly! Yes you did!

Mat 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
Mat 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

and;

Mrk 16:14 Later, as they were eating, Jesus appeared to the Eleven and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
Mrk 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mrk 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Mrk 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
Mrk 16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be made well.”
Mrk 16:19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
Mrk 16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked through them, confirming His word by the signs that accompanied it.

you forgot also Peter was appointed by God to preach to the gentiles and he did.

Act 15:7 After much discussion, Peter got up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you that the Gentiles would hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. Yes you forgot also!

Now serious questions: Do you have to keep the Ten Commandments? and Why? you should know this but people who follow Paul exclusively do not.

You're absolutely right about Jesus commanding the preaching to the world the Kingdom Gospel, but there's also the reality of what those same men did not do, which is to go out and preach to the whole world the Kingdom Gospel. I quoted the evidence of their having remained in Jerusalem, especially given that most of them died on Israeli soil. Have you, therefore, ever wondered why that is? Have you ever questioned why that is? There's a good reason why they did not do as commanded, but if you're not interested in why, that's OK. Nobody is here to force feed anyone.

I do appreciate your post because it reflects what I too once believed, but no longer once I allowed scripture itself and alone to drown out the drone of false teachings out there from behind pulpits, from books and radio, and especially the internet.

Let me know if you're willing to consider what scripture actually says in a more systematic viewpoint and scope.

1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1 John 2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

Sad to see folks not believing all the Lord says in His Word.

They are representing the Lord badly and bringing reproach upon His Name.
Sad to see you ignoring the second half of 1 John 2:1. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. Talk about not believing all the Lord says in His Word. Now 1 John 1:6 describes those who merely say/claim they have fellowship with God, and walk in darkness. Such people lie and do not practice the truth. This is 'descriptive' of children of the devil.

Walking in the light is 'descriptive' of children of God (and only children of God are in the light - Acts 26:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14; Ephesians 5:8) and they have fellowship with God in CONTRAST with those who merely say/claim they have fellowship with God and walk in darkness.

So we have two camps here. 1. Those who merely say/claim they have fellowship with God and walk in darkness. Such people (pseudo Christians) lie and do not practice the truth. *Compare with 1 John 3:10 - ..Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

Also compare with 1 John 2:9 - He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. In verse 11 - But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. *Scripture is crystal clear here that this walking in darkness is 'descriptive' of children of the devil.

2. Those who walk in the light (genuine Christians) as He is in the light, have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses them from all sin. Genuine Christians practice righteousness (and not sin) and love their brother. (1 John 3:9-10) Verse 14 - We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.
