I would agree that if you are a terminally ill patient with less than six months to live you really do not need to worry about AI.Long story short, already way ahead of you old buddy, but for one it's physically and nerdy programming-wise impossible literally. Even hypothetically, it basically would ensure the AI rather than achieving true Skynet or Omnius style status would actually basically bug itself out in massive error loops and kernel trap errors and actually kinda wild stuff that be more akin to physically dying than actually achieving a form of true sentience. The parallel to an incredibly hyper-literalist belief in the original sin and temptation in the Garden account in Genesis 3 is pretty dang uncanny though. I guess good news praise Jesus, don't gotta worry about doomsday AI anytime too soon.
On the other hand if you are in High school I don't think that going to college makes sense, at least not for 90% to 99% of the population. If you are in college then I would say there is a very high likelihood that the money you have sunk into that education will be considered a total loss career wise.
If you have recently started a job and been doing it for less than five years I would think everything you use the computer for will be taken away from you in the next two to three years and AI will do that. This is probably true for at least 80% of people in your shoes.
If on the other hand you have been doing your job for over ten years and are a leader in your field, perhaps one of the top 10% in your field you will not be replaced, rather AI will be there to supplement your work, replacing all human assistants that you might have previously used. AI will study everything you do and within three years will be replacing half of those in the top 10%.
Job losses due to AI will at first be a trickle because they are testing AI in the field, finding and correcting the errors and glitches. But then it will be a flood like the dam bursting as they can prove that AI performs significantly better with less liability and a greater return on investment than 50% of employees. Right now all the layoffs we have seen are simply the trickle, they are gathering data on how well the AI is performing in these jobs.
