Thank you all it's very hard to stop, I wish it was easier, but it's not, I don't want to cut myself anymore I just want to be done with it forever, I don't know any other copeing mechanism, I want to be able to go a day without cutting myself I cut myself so much that it doesn't hurt anymore.

if it is hard to stop, coping isn't working. His healing works, always has, always will.
Go to Him and stay in Him. He will never tell you to harm, the demonic will tell people to self harm.

Coping mechanisms are a great thing to build up, some will work instantly and others wont. Id recommend using some of both.

Exercise can help instantly but not for everyone, it can help distract your mind and calm your mind and body

Deep breathing can help instantly, but not for everyone, box breathing is good. Breathe slowly in for 5 seconds, hold for 5, exhail for 5, breathe in slowly for 5. You can adjust the number of seconds to suit you.

Prayer helps, tell god everything you have on your mind, no shame. Tell him how its hard to quit and that you need his help.

You can try to distract yourself with games or movies you like as well,

Or meet up with a friend you like who wont trigger you

Some people snap themselves with rubber bands instead, I dont love that, but its better than cutting.

Grounding techniques, play I spy alone, name all the things you see, smell and can touch or taste.

It will take time, but you wont be cutting forever.

How often do you read the Bible? Its got truths in it about us as Gods children that can really help us get through hard times

Jesus never told anyone to cope, He healed them all and modeled how the Father wants us to live.
No but when Timothy got sick with stomach issues, he was told to drink wine to help with his sickness.

And when Paul plead to God to heal the thorn in his flesh, God did not help, but told him that his grace alone was enough, that his power is made perfect in weakness

Also Luke 4:23-24
Luke 4:23-26 sorry

This is why I almost wish editing comments was a thing 😢

But also, I understand that its probably better that people cant edit or delete things because then they would try to backtrack and delete whatever they could get in trouble for and avoid accountability

I was wondering if anyone knew how to stop cutting, I been cutting myself since I was 13, years old I'm 26 now and i don't know how to stop cutting myself.

@Alexsis,

I am truly sorry to hear you are struggling with this, as well as other things you are going through that you've told us about on the forum.

I'm sorry that I don't think I have anything really meaningful to say that others haven't (more eloquently said,) but please know that we are praying for you. ❤️

Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

Jesus command to His believers was to heal the sick, not pray for them.

I have a family friend, lifelong Christian, who had tons of people at church command healing over her.

Her ailment was not healed.

She is thankfully still with us, but the affected areas had to be surgically removed.

For my own self - everyone is free to believe as God leads them - but as for me, I always feel led to pray.

I am led ti follow the Bible that teaches His divine healing, not all Christians walk in the "dunamis" or explosive power of God.
It is magic words, it is vital, one on one relationship.
Most Christians know Him not, according to Jesus.

I drove a van for the VA for a couple of years before covid stopped it, last stop of the ay a vet confided he received diagnosis of a tumor in his liver, Holy Spirit moved strongly, we both experienced it, had recently taken in a video of a lady who have surgery to remove a tumor after he had prayed for it, after surgery the lab found it was dead. His warning was just because it appears on a scan it may be alive. We prayed, didn't see him again for 5 months.
Next time I saw him he said, it hadn't grown in 5 months so no surgery, no chemo, no radiation, they were going to blast it with ultrasound to break it up. Still in contact with him, and he and his bride have joined a local church.
What He does for one, He will do for another. Every manifestation of Holy Spirit power is available to every believer.

James 5:16

James 5:14

The scripture I believe you are describing is descriptive text, rather than prescriptive text, though you do not post the scripture so I can not fully know. Anyway,

God uses our prayers to heal the sick.... we are commanded to pray for fellow believers, to go to church and to get prayers. look at the prescriptive text in James.

It seems that your ideas around the scriptures have proven to be incomplete, you teach as if you know things, which at times im sure you do, but often im seeing that your teachings deny scripture itself. God won't go against his own word, are you sure hes the one teaching you these things?

What was Jesus command? "Heal the sick, raise the dead", etc.
you guys keep praying,, i'll keep doing as He commands and having success.
If you want success and positive results, don't keep doing what is unsuccessful.

To a very select few Christians, this was in the gosples, and acts. These commands he had given was to his main diciples, the 72, and had been followed throughout acts.

In the epistles, correct me if im wrong of course, we are given all sorts of commands that arent simply descriptive to a select few, but are prescriptive, given to the church itself.

Im not even saying that we cant heal the sick, cast out demons and what not, i believe God can use anyone for anything!

But what im saying is that your theology seems to focus on one aspect too ridgedly denying the wholeness of scripture, which can be destructive to the body.

Think about it, John 1:1-3

Jesus is the word of God, hes all truth. The Bible itself may not be Jesus, but he inspires all of its contents in a way. He can not go against himself.

The Son reveals whats given to him by the Father and the Holy spirit lives to bring glory to Jesus.

The scripture is breathed by God,

Clear teaching would show that God also asks women to stay at home and be home makers, submissive to their husbands and loving towrds their children.
Titus 2:4-5

Teaching would also show that to live a quiet life, working with your hands and being loving towrds one another is honorable
1 Thessalonians 4:9

Scripture would show that men are supposed to be leaders of their household, but submissive in nature doing everything in the best interest of their wife as Christ died for the church
Ephesians 5:25

And are called to provide for their household
1 Timothy 5:8

Every believer is called to embody Christ's love, patience, kindness, truth, gentleness, humility, and servitude. Amongst many other christian traits.

We are to renew our minds, pray and seek fellowship with one another

We are to be modest in lifestyle and generous with what we have

We are to repent when we do wrong, seek forgivness, forgive and reconcile

Pray for one another, build eachother up

Theres so much we are clearly asked to do, as a whole. Ways we are to live our lives, traits we are to embody, things we are supposed to avoid. God helps us live all of this with sanctification.

My point being, I dont see where the church as a whole is asked to cast out demons, but I do see where we are called throughout the scriptures, inspired by God to pray for the sick, show compassion towrds the needy and afflicted, build eachother up, spread truth, love one another, fill out our marital roles, exist within the Church in the ways described(men leaders, and teachers), live a quiet life of hard work, but also witnessing to those who we are close to, not only in word but in action. To be good parents and to raise up a generation of believers that can do the same. But also some are called to celibacy. Theres so much diversity within the Church. We all also have different giftings, skills and vocations. Life can look so many ways.

Now the church certainly isnt perfect, but we all try very hard im sure. And even if im wrong about most of this, prayer is definitely something we are supposed to do for the sick..God commands us through the scripture, God is three in one, and Jesus only speaks what the father tells him to.
